If Ford were Japanese.... But yeah, I understand that it's minutiae; the car was riced up or, in the nomenclature of the ad, pimped, begging to be smashed so as to be put out of its embarrassing misery.
Probably because they either couldn’t afford to pay the actors. The guy is a top flight character actor not just some actor trying to pay rent. The actress that plays Flo in the Progressive Insurance makes over a million a year from those commercials. Jake from State Farm does well too. We got three great WV spots. You wouldn’t want them to keep making them till they stopped being funny?
They are classic, and some of the few commercials worth watching, but we can't forget the Trunk Monkey series, either - another bunch of fantastic ads.
relax royal lights...dont get your panties in a bunch over what were brilliantly executed and glaringly obvious parodies, characterizations, exaggerated scenarios...whatever you want to call these commercials is irrelevant because of their shear genius
Pretty funny that, 15 years later, there are still guys dressed like this, and cars that look like this, at import shows. Like the ones who thought FnF was a documentary or some shit
I always think "German engineering in da house ya" every single time I climb into my solid white, 2012, VW Jetta, 5 speed. Representing Deutschland. ✌️✌️
Absolutely loved these commercials. 2014 VW Golf owner (2.5L I5). Best car I’ve ever owned. Built in Wolfsburg by actual Germans. No pesky turbos either. Build quality beats the hell out of the American, Japanese and Korean cars I’ve owned. Even beats my old Mercedes.
Because someday, someone, somewhere will ask, "who's the blonde chick?": Sonja Wöstendiek
Thank you, random stranger.
Much appreciated!
"It's definitely sucking"
@@JerryDLTN How long did it take you to get her name?
The more relevant question though: Is she on YouPorn? ;)
SO we have a Swedish actor, doing commercials for a German car company, shown in America where they are smashing Japanese cars....DAMN I love it!
Well, to be accurate, the blue car on the first video was a Ford Focus.
A good point my man, however, it further goes to validate my comment!
If Ford were Japanese....
But yeah, I understand that it's minutiae; the car was riced up or, in the nomenclature of the ad, pimped, begging to be smashed so as to be put out of its embarrassing misery.
The focus is an European car, I think the British build them.
Showed them in the uk too
Why did they stop with these commercials? Best thing ever!
With truly great things, you will find that more is just... more.
My guess is didn't have enough arrested criminal cars to destroy at the time
@@veilsidefun huh?

How you made 480p look like 240p i will never know
because it's based on the resolution of the video, and not the bitrate or perceived quality.
You unpimp ze wedaeo
Deceased 😭
Peter Stormare is always amazing to watch ,even in commercials ...ROCKS!!!
As a German, this spot makes me happy and laugh so hard hahahahaha
15-ish years later and STILL funny (P.S. 1:16 = plot foreshadowing)!
Still funny in '24
V DUB in the haus represent Deutschland jah
fun fact: Peter Stormare, the "German", is a Swede.
Yea! Great actor.
it's comedy dude, lighten up!
Aw man. Now I miss my Saab
Slippery Pete! He was a great "rogue electrician" in Seinfeld. Pretty good Russian in that space rock show too
Yeah...no surprise at all. Even the hix in the stix know that.
There were only 3 in this series? I never get tired of these. 30 seconds of brilliant comedy, and advertising.
Stormare:"What time is it?"
Random guy: "I dunno"
Stormare: Time to unpimp, zeh auto"
*Car gets smashed*
Stormare:" OH SNAP!"
I think the part that goes unnoticed by most is that the radon guy is wearing a stopwatch around his neck à la Flavor Flav.
I especially enjoy the look of satisfaction as he pushes the button to "unpimp zeh auto"
Best one
@@dravis141 They gave him a TREBUCHET. Who doesn't want to fire a trebuchet?
I like the part that the females constantly roasting the shit out of ricers.
it's even funnier to me now after interacting with females in car shops in Germany. the representation is 100% accurate.
"Let me hear you say, Vhat?"
"....What?"
100% see what you did there Volkswagen ;)
"It's definitely suckingggg..." is one of my alltime commercial brainworms. I still say it under my breath at least once a week.
Came here to say this. I’ll never forget how hard I laughed first time seeing these spots. They never get old. I love well-done commercials.
I miss these comercials.
VW's best ads, love these
I loved those commercials! 😆
German engineering in da house! 🤘
Representing Deutschland!
My favorite commercial probably ever..
Mine too!
The taco bell/mcdonald's commercial was funny too lol
Wendy's Soviet fashion show...
They are classic, and some of the few commercials worth watching, but we can't forget the Trunk Monkey series, either - another bunch of fantastic ads.
"You got an F!"
One of the best advertising campaigns EVER!!!!! Raquel Sage
Omg, too awesome, love the gang sign, Vdub!!! Thank you Scott Ferguson!
This is what happens when you put nihilists in your advertising, Larry.
Best guess is three or four years ago, but that is just a guess. So take it for whatever you think it's worth. I just like Peter Stromare.
This is actually one of my favorite series of commercials ever produced. It hits on many levels for me.
Shut the fuck up, Donnie.
We don't care, wweee still takes ze mohney, or we fuck you ups
Nice marmot. 😂😂
That poor Eclipse could've used a better home that would've returned it back to its' formerly badass almost-completely stock form.
Yo, Mike....let me hear you say, what.
What?
LMAO
That is one ass-kicker of a trebuchet! I'd love to see it set up for distance with that ricemobile . . .
And catapults think they're better? These ads were definitely funded by Trebuchet Gang.
Never gets old yahhhh!!. ~VolksVagon~!!! After 7 years, still had to come see it again. "Uuoohhh Snap"!!!!!!!
"Yo Mike ya wannus umpimpdis ting lemmehearya say vhat" "What?"
Loved these spots.. wonder if they'll ever do a reboot for the new GTI or R...
Haha
I had NO idea what was Peter Stormare. Makes me love these commercials even more.
as a German I don't know what to think.. this seems so weird to me
I wouldn't worry about it. There's definitely worse stereotypes of your nation.
relax royal lights...dont get your panties in a bunch over what were brilliantly executed and glaringly obvious parodies, characterizations, exaggerated scenarios...whatever you want to call these commercials is irrelevant because of their shear genius
This will forever be hilarious because “german comedy”. I’d live to see more of these.
Yes... algorithms at work !! And the blonde chick is Zonja Woestendiek... for us alpha males in the house !!!!
Peter stormare
BEST MAN FOR THE H JOB!!!!!
My favorite commercials of all time lmaooooo
not as good as the mini coopers but up there
+read1mod yeah, mine too. 10 (or so) years later it's still top of the list :)
The cars they "unpimp" look like they came from NFS Underground
Pretty much the point... take a half-decent car, and 'tune' it really badly, hang all manner of garish body kit stuff on it...
Some of the only good car commercials ever made. Now I’m off to pancakes house.
What are you nuts? You had pancakes for breakfast.
Pretty funny that, 15 years later, there are still guys dressed like this, and cars that look like this, at import shows. Like the ones who thought FnF was a documentary or some shit
Oh, schnap!
I always think "German engineering in da house ya" every single time I climb into my solid white, 2012, VW Jetta, 5 speed.
Representing Deutschland. ✌️✌️
I know you. Ur from red alert
"THE _LAME" lol!
13thVaRebel I thought that part is brilliant.
Great double entendre if you could call it that. Dude gets an F and the car becomes the Lame.
Brilliant!
@@Wanderglobe YES!
dieser Clip gehört unter Denkmalschutz...
Definitiv!
My daughter and I would laugh our asses off twenty years ago when these commercials were fresh on the TV. Hahaha!
That poor Eclipse at the end :\ Don't rice that baby and don't crash it just give it to me :D
Background sounds like Justin Timberlake's Sexy Back
Representing Deutschland!
hahahaha, looks like it can fly,.. haha nice
+Great Cornholio It looks like it can burn. Fire Fire!
The beggining was a jumpscare
definitely not keeping it real on the engineering front. yall
Fuck I miss these commercials.
Wonder who the chick is.....
What time is it?"
"I dunno"
Time to unpimp, tze emissions.
I really love Peter Stormare...he played Lucifer in "Constantine"
Peter Stormare is the European version of Andy Kaufman.
Are those truck nuts on the back of the first car?
I pray Volkswagen brings these commercials back.
Dat focus was phat yo!
Too bad only Germans can re-engineer them when they break. Great commercial, but i'll keep my "stock" RSX type S (2003 Car & Driver's car of the year)
Integra4life I'll keep my 1970 Swinger 340 (Polyspheric heads). Don't care what media thinks of it.
What if you pimp a golf mk5
Slippery Pete has come a long way
Say no to rice, kids.
From the flame to the lame
Man, I wanna learn how to Unpimp ze auto
Hard to believe that this is the same guy who played the soulless psycho in "Fargo".
It's insane!
Tope ads..ever. along with early Kia soul... Please GM hire someone else to do marketing.
It’s weird because my technology teacher showed us this in class 😂😂😂
Best VW commercials of all time thx for posting!
Those three guys are probably lucky they didn't end up in a woodchipper.
Far go for a good joke!
Germans are the best

Just watched Peter Stormare in Day Shift and it reminded me of these awesome and hilarious commercials. VDub in the house.

"V-Dub, holding it down on the engineering tip, yah? Yah..." 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wish they made a show doing this😂
They knew "dub" before us young 'uns.
Yeah, but duh GIT M5 doezn't have dah air zucker und one of dem silly doesn't-serve-a-single-function zpoilerz on dah back.
Watching Prison Break again and then remembered Abruzzi leaving and Stormare making these ads and then coming back to PB with that weird hair cut.
"In full effect" 😆 I forgot about that one. Time to bring that stupid line back!
Miller Thomas Walker Jason Robinson Susan
Needs more Germany
Maybe Falzone was in one of these cars and John Abruzzi smashed all them
I cannot stop watching these!
The BEST commercials of all time bar none!! Hilarious
1:33 "German Engineering in the house Ya" one my favorite phrases in car commercials ever
I was watching "Longmire" and wondering we this one character looked so familiar. And then I said, "OH SNAP!"
OH SNAP
These commercials were the best, and I haven’t seen anything come close.
oh Peter Stormare - you can sell anything :)
Yo you want us to unpimp this thing let me hear you say what
What?

It's weird watching Constantine and then rewatching the commercials
Hey I know that guy. Yeah he's a nihilist. Karl Hungus
Still great … legendary.
