Wonderful! This would help with any small engine. I figured this out when working on a pressure washer that was tge same way. I have unstuck an old car engine by turning the crank with a socket and pouring oil in all the spark plug holes.

I had a 9 hp subaru engine on a log splitter that had been sitting outside for over 2 years. Went to start it and the pull string would only come out about 6 engine so I naturally that the piston was seized. I took the plug out and put some mystery oil in the cylinder and let it sit for a day. No luck. It is a horizontal shaft. Took the pump off and used a pipe wrench to try a free the piston. It turned and I heard cracking each time I turned the shaft. I then went and bought a new engine. Being curious I started to take the old one apart. I took the housing cover off the flywheel and found the problem. A chipmunk made a nest and the cracking sound was the nutshell being crushed when I turned the shaft. That's why it wouldn't turn over! Nothing wrong with the engine itself!! Lesson learned!!

Pull that spark plug out put some lubricant down in the cylinder. Once you get the Piston loose, put a cordless drill on that socket and spin that baby around until it feels smooth. Put it back together and fire it up. I've done that a few times on some curb finds.

Yes. Thanks for the comment. I have pulled spark plugs and poured oil in to get a car engine unstuck. It was minimum effort with this engine. Took more time to take cover off on put back on than to turn the engine with the socket.
