An old man once told me don’t sweat the small stuff… and it’s all small stuff. God gives us all the same amount of time. Daniel, I’ve been following you for about a year now son you’re doing a great job. I love watching your videos. Houston’s an amazing young man. You’ve got a beautiful daughter a fantastic wife and your older son. Just keep God first all the rest will work out just like it’s supposed to. Hope to meet you one day.

Years ago, when my husband and I traveled in our RV we used a portable satellite dish to get tv. The tri-pod kept tipping over when it was too windy. So we hung a 1 gal. Milk jug filled with water hanging in the center of the tripod. Maybe a pint or quart would work. Just one more thing to carry around 😂. Anyway we LOVE watching you and your family AND seeing your love for Jesus. Yours in Christ.

Time Management. Make a list every day. Select hours for certain projects or chores daily. After a week or two, find out what works and what doesn’t. Then adjust. If you really want to be at Mill Creek all day to complete a project, yet know it’s unrealistic, plan for 1/2 a day. Etc. great videos and thanks for helping DeeJay with her editing…hugs

Of course there is room to adapt a schedule based on weather, emergency vet visits, etc. Set your schedule based on weather forecast, typical needs of things like feeding, shipping products, games, etc. but leave a bit of room for adjusting and spontaneity.

Daniel, when you were a State Trooper, how many family events were you not able to attend, i.e., games (sports), church, etc.? Your life schedule now allows you to be with and enjoy your family more. The gift of being your own "boss" is that time management has a different definition. Before I retired, I thought I was going to go crazy with "all the spare time" I would have. Welp, that never happened. I LOVE being able to adjust and rearrange doing things as needed. I don't worry about the day and time things get done, I evaluate progress by planning weeks and not minutes/hours. A whole new world has opened up and I enjoy so many things and hobbies I was never able to do before. Enjoy life. Enjoy your freedom to adjust your schedule as needed. As always, God's blessings for the Arms family. ✨❤

As a groomer I would get my fair share of cats to bath. Owners would sometimes ask why I charged the same (or higher) price as a medium dog. My answer was always “Have you ever done this” ?

You can help your tripod when it's windy by taking a weight (I use a ten pound weight disc from an old set my neighbor threw out) tie a string to it so it almost hits the ground when you set up your tripod. Attach that string to the camera mount on the tripod. With the center of gravity lowered, it's harder to tip over.

I don't know that anyone could really improve on what you are doing. Just give yourself credit for what you are doing and know that there will always be something waiting in the wings needing to be done. Enjoy your family and friends and what you do, that's what matters and nothing more.

Daniel them sticking cedar trees will suck about 15 gallons of water aday out of the ground. Your doing good getting rid of them. Once those green ones start the oil in them goes up like gas. Daniel that was a problem for me when I retired. I thought if I wasn't doing something working on this and that I felt bad. I set a set of goals daily. I try to finish a project if it's not a big one like MillCreek and complete it. You will feel better completing and getting one done rather running around multi tasking on many. Just my thoughts.

Hi Arms Family. We don't comment too much but you asked about Time Management. We have been on our own since 2017 and have loved it. The one thing that helps us is block scheduling. Now I say help because I (Matt) don't always keep to it 100% because I get caught up in things fast. One thing that is nice about editing is you can get up before everyone else or stay up late so you do not get distracted by anyone. What ever you do don't dwell on t and just try to make 1% better everyday. From what we see you are doing great and are a great inspiration to us and our kids. We also love to fish and hunt. Just find your grove and remember where you came from. 🙂

Sure there were ups and downs, but there were so many rewards personally. Unfortunately, my disabled body of today didn’t like the stress after 34 years. I always planned to work at something new when I retired. Now that isn’t possible. I am looking for new directions to fill all of this time that seems to have no purpose. I have enjoyed watching and learning from you and your family. Thank you so much for sharing your lives.

I enjoyed the song you chose in this video. I put homemade huge wall calendar (monthly) on my wall that allows to log what chores I wanted to achieve in the importance of how soon it needed to be accomplished. Having the visual makes it alot easier to see the success or failure of achieved chores. Also easier to know the hrs spent or need to spend for the chore to be done. With you having active children, alot of drive time, and weather dictating, makes every day hard to accomplish everything QUICKLY. So the ole saying "Patience Diablo, Patience.
And remember, the Good Lord knows all need a day of rest. I know you have alot to do running the business, being a U-Tuber, a Father n Husband, whew, so catch ya breath n soldier on.
You could always hire a part-timer for something. 😆 Catchya later

Yup! When I retired from the structure of a job, my schedule became fuller than ever! Running about with and visiting family getting done all those projects that got put off for years around the property. I put up a big white board and blocked in family time, chore time and project times, and travel time for errands. It helped me set up more realistic expectations for what I could accomplish in a day. Realistically each property is at least a 6 hour chore/project day. At first my brain just refused to wrap itself around a schedule again; but come spring time with the longer days you may get there. Praying for ya!

One of the things I have taught the teams I have worked with over the years is... There Is No Such Thing As TIME MANAGEMENT. Time is fixed. 60 seconds... 60 minutes... 24 hours. You have to focus on TASK Management. Prioritize those things you need (or want) to get done and focus on balancing those tasks into your home life. Don't fret over all those other things on the list.... Take pride in accomplishing the task(s) you planned to get done.

Good evening Daniel. I'm a 14 year police veteran in a municipality, and there was a veteran officer (now retired) when I was a young one who used to say "One call at a time" when we were swamped with work. I learned really quickly that you can easily overwhelm yourself with workload if you try and do so much at one time. You'll end up doing very little on several projects instead of a lot more in less than a handful.
Love your videos and the whole Arms Family (including the animals). When you said you edit Deejay's videos, you should find a clip where she praises you or admits that you were right and add that to the video when she refuses too just to mess with her a bit.

Keeping a log of things that need to be done are a huge plus. Be sure to update that list as needed and don't forget to check things off that list as you do em. THAT'S the only way I've been able to manage between Work life and things needing done around the house. By Far, the work life HAS to be done first and foremost. My first year of being a business owner was non-stop 7 days aweek for the entire year just so I could keep my head above water, and I struggled. It actually had me doubting the decision my wife and I made, but then it got easier going into the second year. Some of my I was stressing over became first nature and I was able to get it done quick and find the shortcuts I needed to accomplish the same quality in less time.
Just keep your head up and keep your eyes out for simplier ways to achieve the same quality of product/work and you'll find more time for the play.

To hear Texans talk about the cedar trees you would think the word "cedar" is just another "cuss word." The cedars were brought to America by people from Europe and are not indigenous to America. Well.... they may have lost the war, but the way cedars grow the Europeans may just choke us out of our country! Take care and blessings to all the family.

Daniel, set yourself a schedule as if you were still punching a time clock. You can do it, you have an amazing drive to get things done and to do them right. As a small business owner you set the pace and it is up to you to maintain that pace and schedule. Sure things will always come along to throw you off your game but even those things can be worked into a plan to stay on track for your goals. Set daily goals and weekly goals. Film along the way and let us help hold you accountable for your weekly goals.

That farrier is a keeper, patient yet firm (in not letting go with a little fit). It is hard to find one to do donkeys, especially minis. They are so low to the ground many can't/won't want to bend that much. It is just as much work if not more to do them so the price is generally about the same. Time management can be tough and being much of yours is outside you also have the weather to contend with also. Just remember you can't do it all in one day as much as you want to

I would use a large dry erase board to keep track of all the daily chores. Permenant mark/label the daily chores and check off with the dry erase marker. At the end of the day erase all checks to start over. The larger involved jobs keep on a separate dry erase board, and divide weekly by amount of time they will take, input such as $, time, equipment and weather. These jobs use only dry erase markers, because once done they won't need to be re-done or if weather doesn't permit they can be switched out such as tree cutting, burning, building structures etc. (rain and snow might change). I'm a visual person so lists and charts help me stay on track....and ALWAYS leave the Lord's day for Him.

Time management was my problem too. I found to do days of the week, then block off important things. Family came first, then others followed. For you, I think, family all things and for yourself, animals, then projects. If you know ahead of activities for the children then your last section for projects should be easier to schedule. Good luck. I think you do a very good job already. 👏 I think you will have a plan soon. Enjoyed pretending I was driving that machine and moving those trees. It was fun. Your families channels are all I watch. Enjoy today and everyday that God has made for us to take care of 🙏

I can understand your conundrum, Daniel If I were you, I'd absolutely make myself a work schedule to stick to everyday and of course at times you'll have to deviate from it but at least you'll know what you expect from yourself on a daily basis. Your time management will definitely improve by doing this. I make lists every day of my life so that I'll keep myself accountable for my time and it really works for me. Just my thoughts and hope it helps 💜❤💜 God bless you and Dejay and children 🙏

There aren't many of us that don't struggle with time management!! I have to decide which project is most important to me and do the best I can. You stay busy and I think you do a good job. As I heard a time or two do your best.

I’d say “scratch that itch” by scheduling a full day, say once every few weeks & be ready to do the whole day, dawn to dusk. It may help w that anxiety, & be prepared to reciprocate that time of course. Great channel.

I liked the song bit. Made a change. I'm sure you were frustrated with the lost footage but if you hadn't said anything I would have never known.
When I retired I had to learn time management all over again. It's a challenge most can identify with. Good luck! I think you do well and don't have any suggestions right now.

The biggest benefit for time management I have found, is a white board. First thing on it is always the must dos, animal feeding, kids school and activities, plus appointments and such. All the stuff that can't be changed. Then comes the want to do jobs, followed by the wish list. When you fail at a want to do job, reschedule immediately and the wish list items that you have scheduled but missed goes back on the wish list untill another spot opens up. Loved the videos, both yours and prettys one. Keep em coming guys. Doesn't always have to be something different. I am quite sure most of your viewers would be quite happy with just an animal chores video now and then. It is why we keep coming back, your family and the animals. Love to all.

For me priorities is key, family duties first! Daily chores are just that, same as weekly chores or periodic chores. Everything else fits in wherever it fits in. Flexibility is paramount in all aspects of our lives and helps reduce stress.

Who am I to tell you about time management, when it’s one of my problems too !!!
But maybe get in the habit of write on a wall erase calendar what you want to accomplish for the coming week and if you only accomplish 1/4 of what is on there ,,, you are moving forward !
