International sports cannot have competing team umpires. The umps are human and have to make split second calls. Not biased, different playing to their own country play and prior ump International experience.

Exactly! One of the few remaining sports to not use tech to help umpires make calls. It’s part of the game to follow their decisions. I think the 2 did a great job, but of course sometimes mistakes are made

I think since games are recorded if umpires is not sure they can ask for recall from the screen watchers cause this cost teams and always aboard umpires why?

It’s a good idea! But we are still trying to get our athletes paid ;)

These umpire seems bias for Australia

Nothing new. For some odd reason, every umpire whether old or new will always be a Diamond player and this had been ongoing for decades. Got me thinking maybe someone way up is pulling strings as for the diamond defenders, always dirty and physical especially C. Bruce.

They rules have been adapted in recent years to “allow” more physicality especially in defence, and allow more plays to continue, but this is still down to umpire interpretation. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@@Netball-TV the rules have been adapted in recent years and even then there are huge inconsistencies in umpiring where calls are blatantly biased and for that matter, even before the adaptation, umpires have always favoured the Aus diamonds.

Absolutely agree that there are inconsistencies in different umpires, and human error is what makes it difficult to standardise the quality of decision making

It's turning in to rugby. New Zealand play a cleaner game to Australia but rules are rules and the refs are hopeless at most

As for the commentary 🙌 i like how ur a NZ fan but still very balanced in calling out bad plays from both teams.

SF in a very long time has tall timber GS in Grace Amelia...the coach needs to develop them and ensure they can handle and manage tough defenders.

Yes they are also very young, so I’m sure by the time the next WC comes around they will be stronger 💪💪

I'm Australian and I agree that the Ferns copped some dud calls here but the female umpire here was English, not Australian.
