I am obsessed with anything stained glass! Your creations are gorgeous!!! Do you ever do anything with iridescent stained glass? I’m obsessed with that the most! I wish I had your talent!!! My daughter has your kind of talent! She is an amazing artist! I don’t have any talent! She has many, many talents😊
I searched on RUclips and no one amazed me with the beauty of his work as much as you. I went to Japanese and Chinese people and everything related to this profession. Honestly, it's more than wonderful.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I know it's completely fine otherwise you wouldn't do it, but I confess I get nervous every time you hold the window up and jiggle it after soldering 😅 beautiful work as always!
Recien hace unos dias descubrí otro de tus videos y es un placer verte trabajar con tanta precisión prolijidad y buen gusto. Sigue así!!! 👌👍 Excelente!!!👏👏👏🤗❤
Nice work! I wish I was still in the stained glass business. But working with lead for 45 years took its toll on me. It happens regardless of how careful one is in the art.
I was learning stained glass but you had to wrap each piece. I assume leaded glass and stained glass are different? Love your work. It's stunning. Watching you cut glass with such ease... amazing.
You've just about convinced me to try my hand at using lead came for a future project. You and your client came up with a beautiful design for a circular window opening.
My son in law's stepdad did stained glass and his work was beautiful. He was just starting to work with my grandson and teach him how to do the work but unfortunately Gene passed away way too soon. He told me about a church in Florida that the company he worked for did a restoration on the windows that featured Noah's Ark on the windows. I would love to see that church sometime.
Your techniques are good but I could tell you some we used at Pittsburg Stained glass and my own studio that would save you time on finishing out after your cement process . If you use lime sprinkled on with a can perforated with holes and sawdust , it will clean , blacken and shine the leads without the need for lamp black .After coating with a nice sprinkle of lime sprinkle some sawdust on top and use a medium stiff brush to clean and darken . This is done after leads have been fidded down . The lime blackens the lead and the sawdust cleans away and soaks up all residues . Try it and you will be amazed with the results . I only use lamp black when trying to match leads to existing artwork I am restoring .Also your dry times are unnecessary during cement . You can fid down your leads much sooner if you warm your putty instead of relying too much on thinning agents that need to evaporate some .
Hi Robert, honestly I've tried pretty much every technique over the last 26+ years. I've gotten my cementing process down to a fine art that I'm super happy with 🍻🍻🍻
@@LightLeadedDesigns Whatever works for you brother ! Keep the fires burning . It is the art more than the technique that needs to survive ! Love you in a 'guild' sort of way .
Beautiful work. There’s no AI or robot in the world replicate something so exquisite. Could you please talk about what kind of software you use to design these panels? Is it something like adobe illustrator?
Cheers buddy 🍻 I actually spent a small fortune making my own design program a few years ago but I've also used Adobe and that can be a good program for this to 🩷
I love to watch you work Amazing! Im wondering if you can tell me what type of cement you use? Im in Australia what you use looks very different to tje putty style we have here. And where can i access a copy of this pattern? If allowable Thanks so much for posting it really is a pleasure to watch Annie
Cheers for watching Annie, I mix my own cement but it's a very similar recipe to the ones you can find with a Google search for leaded light window cement recipe. Templates wise I draw them all specifically to the size and requirements of each client. I just keep a copy on my own computer. Cheers for the appreciation 💚🧡💛
Aww thanks for the feedback, i've just posted up a new 'longer' RUclips video. If you do watch it let me know if you prefer shorter snappy videos or longer more drawn out edits 🤜💥🤛
Great stuff Jan. At the beginning of the video you use a t glass cutter to cut a straight piece of glass. It looks a good quality steel one. Where can I purchase one please ?
I think it'd all aluminium and plastic tbh. I bought lots of them some 20year ago and they've been great but I don't see them for sale anymore and there's no name on them 😔 sorry bud
All my work is made specifically for commission. I'd be happy to make something for you but I can only make work for customers who are able to collect in person once made from my workshop in Manchester UK 🫡
Beautiful, great to see an old skill being practiced by a true craftsman. Every home should have at least one stained glass window.
I agree completely 😂🫶
Love it!! I wouldn't mind if you made the vid even longer. Watching you cut the glass is so therapeutic 😌

What price range would a piece of this quality be around. Certainly something worthy of being on the front door.
It's all depends on the exact design intricacy and the sizes required but this particular window would of been around £575 🧡💙💛💚💜

Lovely work. Are you staining your own glass?
I buy the glass sheets in 💛💙🧡
@@LightLeadedDesigns so you buy them in already stained?
That gas iron is amazing, where do you get something like that?
It's a traditional propane gas soldering iron here in the UK. Expensive to buy but I've had one for 20+ years 💜🩵🤍
Who do you recommend
to purchase glass from , and your work is amazing.
Aww thanks for the feedback, i've just posted up a new 'longer' RUclips video. If you do watch it let me know if you prefer shorter snappy videos or longer more drawn out edits 🤜💥🤛
And I mostly buy from Pearsons Glass in Liverpool 👌
Do you guys use silhouette or Cricut for the patterns ?
Or what do you recommend for easy to use.?
I draw all my designs to size on a computer program I had made a few years back ❤️💜
Freaking gorgeous. Do you make the coloured glass by painting it somehow or just buy coloured glass?
I buy the glass in, it's sold in lots od colour and texture variation 🩷🧡💜🩶🩵
Also...arent you worried about scratching the glass with the metal brushes when brushing the lead cement paste?
Those aren't metal brushes, they are still natural bristles but have softened up over time 💛💚🖤

When putting the window together was that middle circle already one solid piece?

by the way, can u tell me where to get those glass joining brakets?
Cheers I make leaded light windows using 'traditional lead came' 💜🩷💛

Is there a certain computer design program you use to come up with the design of the windows you make?
