Whether you like them or not you can't say that Benu is boring. Their materials and unique forms are unlike any other maker that I've ever seen. Just the naming theme of this series shows just how imaginative this company really is. Nice review.

I have 2 Benu fountain pens. My first was a Briolette with a #5 medium steel nib. The color is luminous amber. It writes wonderfully smooth with a generous wetness. There are no skips or hard starts. It is incredibly reliable. My only complaint might be that it is a little short. It doesn't post, but I don't like to post my pens anyway. It might not be a good choice if you have large hands. My second Benu pen is a Euphoria with a #6 steel nib in the color Watermelon Mojito. This pen is also a wonderfully smooth and reliable writer with the added benefit of being so very comfortable to hold. It does not post either. I plan on buying a Talisman soon to round out my Benu collection. I have become a dedicated fan of Benu pens and find all that bling and flash delightful fun. They are the eye candy of fountain pens and offer a great writing experience. It's a win win.

I missed having a pen comparison that was something I might have. No Lamy Safari, or Metropolitan? If one does not yet have a Benu, it’s a difficult comparison to make.

David needs to take a firm stand and only use a Namiki emperor for size comparison

Funny...I just watched this review, followed by your 2016 review of the Lamy 2000 (I'm considering buying one). You're wearing the same golf shirt in both. And I keep thinking about how clean and white that shirt is, despite all the ink you work with.

About a week ago I put two Benu Talisman pens on pre-order; the Dragon's Blood and Foxglove. I couldn't find many videos on this new Benu series, so your review is very welcome. I bought them because I thought the resins look very interesting, and the folklore inspiring them looks interesting also. Thanks for a thorough review.

Dave, that staggered pattern of the "facets" is very seeably obvious of mimicking the imbricated scales of dragons... great review...

I would (very likely but not absolutely sure) buy one if its price were US$65. I believe is this is much fairer and would still allow Benu to make a handsome profit. (I haven't purchased any Benu pens you have reviewed because the prices were too high, plus I didn't like them enough.) This one appeals to me! But not at this price.
P.S. I assume the embedded flower ingredients won't degenerate over time. Correct? I'm not sure.

Hi David, Ordered my Peacock Ore in broad nib from Pen Chalet yesterday (got double Ink Drop points because it was the 24th of the month) and it was shipped out to me today. With Pen Chalet price match I got the pen for 97.60 this will be my second Benu pen. My first Benu is the Benu Supreme in the limited edition made for Truphae Pen in Cranberry. Keep up the great reviews.

Great review. I love your use of the broad nib. It goes to show, small writing or not, the results of a broad are a pleasure to look at.
This is a beautiful pen as are many of the Benu pens. Just wish the price point was a little better. Thanks again!

    Thanks for a prompt review.
I was looking at this as I agree the more muted color is attractive and the alternating facets are interesting.
The issue that I am holding back on its the weight. I usually like a pen around 30 grams.

I had a Benu. The dog chewed it.
There was no clip, and it had a number 5 size nib which looked ridiculous in the big pen barrel.

Very nice review --- I just ordered it - Can't wait for it to sit next to my Twshi Draco

I do like this pen. I have one Benu in a broad and I do enjoy it. I'm curious though on the Foxglove model. Since the Foxglove is infused with the plant and Foxglove is a poisonous plant for dogs and cats if they ingest it if there would be any problems if your dog or cat chewed the pen? Luckily, none of my pens have been chewed by any of my dogs, but given the chance they might.

Flashy? How about comparing to Leonardo - Momento Zero Grande - Primary Manipulation😏. Will it fit the Benu crystal pen stand?
