I didn't listen to Rowland since his funeral 10 years ago. I decided to reminisce about the good (andbad) times this week and it has been heartbreaking and cathartic at the same time. I miss him.
Saw Cat Power last night and she did a mind-blowingly spectacular rendition of Shivers. She made it her own, but it was so full of love and honor for Roland S. I know he always had a somewhat difficult relationship with that song, but she did him proud with it. Man, RSH, one of the best.
I know this song was meant to be ironic but even though I don't see it like that and a lot of people don't, I am glad he gave it to us I love him... such an amazing soul and creative genius
