Coming back to Sabah and birding I and my partner would like to know your travel arrangements from Kota Kinabalu and accommodation.Hiring a vehicle is viable or flying?I find accommodation and those tours are pretty expensive proposition for an average bird enthusiast and a photographer.Any suggestions for an affordable accommodation and travel.Greatly appreciate your suggestions
I traveled to Tabin by inland flight. Tabin can indeed be expensive, and I don't have any cheaper alternatives to suggest. For Kinabatangan River, I flew to Sandakan and then arranged everything through Romzie, at +60 11-3152 1176 on WhatsApp. He's experienced and offers reasonable prices for transportation and accommodation. As for RDC, I recommend staying at Sepilok B&B. It might not be the cheapest option, but it's the closest and allows for easy walking access to RDC for birding.

For Tabin Wildlife Reserve, you can check packages that include bird guides: tabinwildlife.com.my/. In the Kinabatangan River area, you can contact Romzie via WhatsApp at +60 11‑3152 1176. He's an very experienced guide and can arrange everything for you. I stayed at Sepilok B&B near the Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC), which is within walking distance for birding.
