Great video! I've said this before somewhere on YT, but what the heck I'll say it here to: when it comes to unlocking your hips, think of a good moguls skier. Watch some clips of what they do. Their lower bodies are bouncing up and down and side to side, while their upper bodies are quiet and facing squarely down hill. They do this by getting great separation of lower and upper body.
I didn't get this until one day, I did. I'd seen dozens of videos on it and thought I knew what it was and what it felt like. Then one day, it clicked. "Ooh, that's what it feels like".
I learned it by riding down the power lines in attack position. Since I was riding fast I could focus on my form and build the muscle memory to where my body should be
Thank you Josh and RMATVMC. Josh, this is by far the best dirt bike instructional tutorial I’ve seen. I’ve watched a ton of them. RMATVMC, please have Josh do more lesson videos. Keep up the great work, guys!
Great tips, I was applying a few of this tips while I was riding some of the Alpine loops trails in Colorado, on my 2019 690 Er it really made a big difference, looking forward to keep implementing some of this tips on my dual sport riding
These are all really like the best tips. Try keeping those elbows up and squeezing the knees and ankles after 60 minutes of hare scramble or enduro is where my problem comes in. Im also 36 and think Ronnie Mac is the goat, 4t suck and pbr is the best
Can't even count how many times I shake my head at riders who ride on their arches/heels... on and off-road... I was taught at an extremely young age to always be on the balls of my feet and actually feel awkward when covering the rear brake for long periods of time... my feet just move back to the balls of my feet automatically/naturally.

All advice applies to one night stands as well....
Squeeze with the knees!
"Unlock your hips and maintain traction"
🤣🤣
The basics matter. Everyone can improve speed and safety and enjoy more by practicing the basics.
