6:29.. I wouldn't be so much worried about the stop block being pumped as much as your son placing his hand to hold the piece of wood between a stop block and the blade. That is super dangerous. You should always try to set up your stops so your offcut isn't being trapped. Same with a table saw. That piece of wood catches the outside kerf of the blade and bad things happen. If you can't avoid making a cut like that you always be using a stop stick or something else to hold it. I know this from experience. I was making cuts like this over and over and over and then I raised the blade back out of the cut before it stopped and threw the wood back at me and pushed my hand towards my 12" miter saw blade. I stepped to realize what I did and never did it again. Scared the sh*t outta me lol
Great job! It's funny, newby carpenters think this is THE project to do around the holidays. It doesn't take them long to figure out that it's actually more difficult than it looks to get a quality job. I cheat and use my CNC for these. :)
