- Classic aircheck of Frazer Smith doing a Friday night shift on KROQ. Smith would later become a Los Angles rockradio icon going on to KMET, KLOS and KSLX.
Original broadcast from 1978 on KROQ/Los Angeles, CA.
the hollywood nightshift was a highlight of my weekends...and the Do It Now Dope hour
victors house of bbq'd bats, cheerleaders hung upside down, trainride to hell...connie chung nipple wrench. GENIUS!
Hectors house of bbqed bats and Valium cigarettes
I knew Frazer was on KROQ before KLOS, but I've never heard him on KROQ until now. Thanks for posting!

"I'm too hip....I gotta go !!!!"
Interesting that this clip is from near Christmas 1978, and yet the music is heavy from 77 (Funtime, Spanish Stroll). Was KROQ catching up on songs they missed the year before? I ask because I know the change to Roq Of The 80's (re: Alternative) is somewhat subtle and takes place over about a four year period, starting roughly with Bingenheimer's hire in 1976. Just curious if any old time KROQ listeners have the answer.
Shecky...........Get my jet!
I loved this guy ...why doesn't he not have his own late nite TV show?????
The Frazer & Al Show! RIP, Al Rameriz
Frazer is BACK! 95.5 KLOS Sunday night 10PM - 2AM

Who and why record and keep this genius?
Does 'anybody' have the Dr. Savage Spiders Broken Glass Air-Burgertorium commercial. Please...
Did you find it?
Dia Allds: Nah. Never found my cassette tape that I had it recorded on. I had e-mail contact with Greg Raven who wrote the original. greg-raven.github.io/other/ads.html. I fear the Frazer Smith version, much elaborated on, is lost. I remember a location -"located at the corner of Salamander and Sex Avenues, just of the Longest Freeway... Right here in the City of Stars"
I have quite a few hours of the Fraze. I'll listen and let you know if I find it.
Dia Allds: Great, thanks. Here's another one for you... Would have been a daytime show in February some time in the mid-70's on KROQ. Mike Rophone (?) played The Tubes 'What do you want from life'. In the middle was inserted a Spanish language track with mean guitar. Then back to the Tubes. Today - a mashup. Broadcast went strait to the Traffic Copter where the guy commented on "that crazy Mexican music'. Can't find that tape either... I recorded lots of L.A. Rock Radio in them days but these two were 'kept safe' and subsequently disappeared.
Me too. I got a lot of Rodney and a lot of Hollywood Nite Shift. I loved that station. I will do my best to find something for you. I loved the Tubes too and Sparks and everything!
Too hip....gotta go.
Irán Iraq iroll!!!
