  • A cab ride aboard a 09-type P&T tamper from Ashford International to Wandsworth Road.
The initial part of the journey has been covered in other videos, so highlights only from Ashford to Sevenoaks, but then it's uninterrupted coverage as far as Wandsworth Road. The next part of the journey from Wandsworth Road to Woking will be covered in the next video

This is another of those excellent track machine videos. The engine sounds great on these machines, and they have some good acceleration too. A totally informative production with the junctions, tunnels and stations, etc. Many thanks.

These excellent videos are proof that the railway companies could, if they wanted to, create passenger connections between busy towns in Southern England without the need for changes in London. How about Ashford International - Paddock Wood - Tonbridge - Sevenoaks - Orpington - Bromley South - Brixton - Clapham Junction - Richmond - Twickenham - Feltham - Staines - Woking - Farnborough - Basingstoke - Winchester - Southampton Central?

A simply excellent video (duly liked). What I would love to see is a cabview continuing from here at Wandsworth Road through to (at least) Kensington Olympia - ie the route that most freight from the Channel tunnel terminal at Dollands Moor to the North and West of England uses.

Passenger drivers need to have intimate knowledge of their route, but you guys are sent all over the region, sometimes combining several routes and along some little-used track. How do you manage to remember it all? Seems amazing to have knowledge of the complete region.

Regular route refreshing! We are tracked via our company mobile phones, so they know exactly the last time we went over a bit of track. That then needs refreshing at least every 6 months to keep competencies up to date

@@emmo999 Cheers for that. Still very impressive as there are so many possible routes. Well done, I say!

It can be a challenge keeping my routes up to date. In theory a passenger driver will cover all their routes across their roster, but we sometimes to months without visiting a particular region. So I have to make sure I’m keeping track of what needs refreshing any given point
