FULL PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Synthetic blood mass-produced to meet supply shortages. Livers and kidneys “bioprinted” on demand. Missing fingers and toes re-grown with a jolt of bioelectricity. Regenerative medicine promises to do more than just treat disease, injuries, or congenital conditions. It holds the potential to rejuvenate, heal, or completely replace damaged tissue and organs. If successful, regenerative medicine will have immense impact on how we care for the injured, sick, and aging - and how we think about death. This program will explore mind-boggling medical advances as well as the societal and economic implications of a future in which everybody may truly be forever young.

Hello. I have something important to tell you:
The bible makes it clear that God is holy. This holy God holds a perfect moral standard. Sadly, we have all fallen way short of that standard(Romans 3:23). The penalty for sin/imperfection is Hell(Revelation 21:8).
Thankfully the bible also says that God is rich in mercy and grace! That is why He sent His perfect Son to die on a cross to save us from our sin. You and I broke God's law but Jesus paid our fine. Then Jesus rose from the dead, 3 day later, thus defeating death.
"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. But whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them." John 3:36

Getting a little out of standard medicine we now could find people that works with something known as : Decodification which is knowing why X problem have had expressed in a person. Could be a health problem or a financial one, or a catastrophe, or not having the tools to make it at school or university, lacking social skills to survive happily in modern life, anything that could be a problem. Not being invasive or toxic, I would give it a chance. Some people learn how to do it by themselves but many other ask for help to people trained in that field. I would ask for help if I would have the money to work with the best facilitator. I would do it. Many people seem to be improving after they clear the cause, the root of the problem.

Just like what the Dr. said it’s not a common treatment but why not offer it to someone who is in pain. Also I have back and other injuries and have not been able to figure out what treatment to try for which injury it costs a lot of money. These are called experimental by the insurance company. So the patient pays out of pocket.

Every single one of these videos in this series I have been viewing of late is FASCINATING to me. I must have been a Scientist in my 'former' Life or I'm going to be one in my 'next'. LOL
However, THIS one has me sitting on the edge of my seat with such cliff-hanging enthusiasm for what is about to happen. True, I am viewing this in 2021 and I'm sure that a lot of what they spoke about has already happened. I can only hope that m-a-n-y people have been helped by now. And yes, I understand fully the Frankenstein aspect of it all. My only wish is for it ALL to help the Human Race in a positive way, in order to make Life safer and allow people a higher level of Hope and Trust that the medical field is actually 'helping' instead of 'harming'.

Knives Wolfram I was thinking about this myself you'd think it would be possible for your body to regrow new teeth if you injected the area with some sort of medicine. If some tumours can grow teeth you'd think they'd be able to figure out how to get your jaw/gums to do the same in the correct place. As I'm nearing my 40s my teeth are starting to fall apart and have been repaired as much as they can be. I really hate the thought of getting dentures and implants are really expensive. Though I could manage it on a single tooth at a time £1700 each for most places here in the UK still pretty expensive for what the procedure actually involves. I've heard you can go abroad and get it done for a fraction of the cost even including flights and accommodation.

It's tough to understand. It's beyond where we've ever been. It's like how I'm really into neuroscience and neurotechnologies that have really helped me with my mental health and addiction issues, and have the potential to completely transform the human psyche, but people just can't wrap their heads around it. It's all new.
One way in is through another subject. For instance, I was dependent on benzos and got intravenous therapy with a drug called NAD+ that rebuilds brain receptors to get you off the drugs. NAD also has amazing rejuvenation abilities and after every treatment I feel increased stamina, flexibility, mental acuity and strength at the age of 42. People understand addiction is a huge problem, so I start talking about that and then mention the rejuvenation abilities of NAD so it doesn't sound so weird.

I recommend reading 'the body electric'.. Bob Becker is the OG. I wonder if these people have even read it? It's funny, but disappointing how the best ideas in science get burried, and then supposedly are "discovered" by pro establishment researchers around 2 generations later. The reason the information around regeneration has been suppressed, is that it implicates the potential physiological effects of all man made electricity and in particularly emf radiations negative health effect potential.

30 min in they talk about kids getting their finger chopped off . Got the top of my middle finger chopped off when I was ten along with breaking the bone. The hospital sewed it back on and you'd never really know it had been chopped of unless you look very closely hardly any scaring and the nail is normal though it is slightly longer (nail bed) than my other finger. Nothing anyone would notice anyway in fact no one has ever said anything about my finger.

I lost a wheel on a go cart, crashed, and shaved the tips of 4 of my fingers on my right hand off when I was a teenager. Only I can tell that my fingers look slightly different because every one of my nails had to grow back after being completely removed. They looked funny for a long time, but eventually normalized. The pain was excruciating and I remember feeling it peak every time my heart beat.

Unlike the 3d printing which involve only with stemcells being cultured into specific type of cell of an organ.

Fun fact, Deadpool's regeneration was derived from the same gene that granted Wolverine his regeneration, but due to cancer cells (which are really just stem cells without electrical current or the gene to allow potassium out to create a circuit) Deadpool has been known to reaerate faster or from a single cell, which Wolverine can too but rarely has to. Wolverine just rarely regenerates limbs because his adamantium bones are not supposed to be able to break.

Yes, they re-published for some reason - perhaps to add a better transcript. WSF (and other channels) need to include publication information in the video itself and in the description so that people can properly reference the videos. I'm a retired librarian and I feel like we are back in the era of early printed books with respect to how poorly people identify the information they create. Also, the re-publishing and deletion of the previous version wiped the comments and wrecked links in playlists. There has to be a better way...

ad Stephen: He sure is right saying that quality goes over quantity. We already have the concept of QALY (quality adjusted life years). Also, the problem of an extremely quickly overaging population won't be resolved anytime soon. Among many others, capitalism and the resulting inequality stands in the way to help doing so.
But while Stephen's arguments for not wanting to live forever or even to 120 are valid, they shouldn't be generalized and it is a very individual decision (which won't help a lot today) or wish.
I for one, being a scientist myself, would very much like to live forever, just to see the progress humanity -- hopefully -- will make in physics, medicine, genetics/genomics, technology including space travel/exploration, and also as a society solving problems we have today -- like the aforementioned inequality problem and the reign of money.
As an antitheist, I don't have the hope of that happening after my brain quit it's job. Also, due to my various conditions, I'm used to not having too tight bonds to people, i.e. being reclusive.
So please guys, make it happen soon! I'm almost 59 already!

Definitely! That one reaction seemed a bit arrogant to me, while I can completely understand that he doesn't want to live forever, it's nothing others should decide for you. And there are clearly many people who want to live for millenia, provided they basically stay in their 30s biologically. But a lot of older people, even some younger ones of course, tend to react in weird ways when biological immortality is talked about.
P.S. Try looking into calorie restriction. Also follow Aubrey de Grey and the SENS Foundation.

The entire finger and nail regenerated in 2 years. By the 4th year the full fingerprint was regenerated. After 5 years the edges of the cuticle bed were fully regenerated.
