- Brian Ross investigates cult leader Lawrence Ray and takes an inside look at the twisted college sex cult at Sarah Lawrence College. Ray was found guilty in a federal trial for sex trafficking, forced labor, and other crimes. Ray moved into his daughter's dorm room at Sarah Lawrence College and began inserting himself into student's lives. Using psychological manipulation and coercive control techniques, Ray exploited many college students in different ways during the decade long run of his cult.

@@tatianahawaii13 - I lost the most important woman in the world to me several years ago and people did try to take advantage of me but I’m not a weak minded individual and even though I was grieving I never let that get the best of me. Those people attack the weak and I am not one of those types of people.

He didn’t live on campus. It was in a building for students off campus.

Where is the press release from Sarah Lawrence Administration? Where are their statements of plans to hire a private poli e force or a real security team. Why the he'll did they not respond to the letters from the victims?

Ray convinced them from the beginning that he had their best interest in mind. That everything he did was for their own good ,however painful. Mind torture.
We NEED a whole documentary because we need to know how to avoid this for young adults and signs of what to look for , things to ask .

How these reporters maintain those fake smiles while discussing crimes of this magnitude and level of monstrosity is not only beyond my understanding, but incredibly unsettling. It’s not normal to not look upset.

The dorm was a distance from the other buildings. Set up like townhomes with different units and separate entrances. No security it was like an apartment
@@steph3135 yeah I guess my thing is because the dorms at my college were owned by the school and there was an upper class men RA or something like that in charge in each one. I can’t imagine that a father of a student would be allowed in those and not have someone looking into why. Maybe this school is lax in that oversight department?
I’m from Italy & I didn’t know anything about this story. As a true crime lover when the series popped up on my tv I just pressed play but I didn’t know what to expect. It escalated fast and I couldn’t believe my ears and eyes while I was watching it, it’s unbelievable and disturbing. It’s alarming that something like this could even be imaginable in these days, but it happened, and the private videos shown were shocking.
There’s something missing though, while watching I felt like some pieces and explanations were left behind and I saw that many other viewers have the same opinion.
This story left me with a bitter aftertaste.

Clearly an important story, tho, for this viewer, would have been helpful if the last image of a person on a gurney being wheeled into an ambulance, put in context/explained.
That was Larry Ray, the cult leader they are talking about, when he went to court. He supposedly has some health problems, I read. I can't remember what they are though. I think he is just faking it anyway. He's hoping the judge will go easy on him if he looks all weak and sick. Probably also doesn't want to be put with other prisoners for as long as possible too.
Looks like he had government training as many of his methods used to control these kids came right from covert operations and interactions handbook.

Systematically breaking him down psychologically, much like the others. Many of us who’ve been in degradingly abusive relationships where we were subjected to very similar tactics get this.
Why tf did they all take the daughter’s word that her former felon father was some great guy in the very beginning? The school & the neighbors when they moved not stepping in is so ridiculous. They had to have heard all their screams. This whole ordeal was inappropriate from the very beginning. My mind just goes to that they were probably on pills & he was helping to fuel their habits. Also where were their parents/ family?
Also, they cut off their family as what he wanted.. you'll see all that in the documentary

After watching the documentary on this story, I absolutely agree. Why would anyone allow themselves to be mistreated by Larry. No one forced them to do anything.. they chose to be his victims. I guess weak minded people will allow anyone to steam roll them
