What are your current thoughts on PAYDAY 3? I still enjoy the unique stealth gameplay, mostly the unmasked stealth (although Infamy was better in PAYDAY 2), but it seems the devs are struggling a lot with their decision-making... As a side note, my uploads have been a bit slow this past month, but I'll have a lot more time over this upcoming winter break -- so I'll either upload more often, or possibly stream for the first time ever, or at the very least reply to a lot more comments!
The Secret will be coming in one of the upcoming updates yup. No idea if it's gonna be the same Overdrill for 2000s or what, but it would be nice if this time they added a way to do it as some stealth challenge as well...
They already confirmed that Overdrill is never coming back since they plan on doing something different other for “the secret” so yea let’s hope this new secret is good
Marcmb i missed you ! Also i think the FWB in payday 3 is kinda good but, almost every task has been seen before :/ Like hack the metal detector on Houston breakout or the laser on golden shark. I Think one thing the game needs in their heist is objectives divercities. Last dlcs were going the right track like boys in blue. (RIP wirebox)
It's good to be back Anton, thank you very much! :D I was thinking the exact same thing, regarding the lack of diversity. The colored switches are literally copy-pasted from the Gold & Sharke heist. It was cool the first time, but now it's just recycled! Placing 3 random circuit boxes to rewire would've been a lot more unique, and so easy to implement... At least the laser sections were very cool and unique. That part I really liked :)
It's a great rework. On the easy side, especially for the big pay at the end, but it's really good fun. All the post-launch heists have been so far, I feel like the team is pretty good at listening to critique, even if I can't imagine it's easy with how much they get and how it's often delivered. Every new update feels another big step closer to the game being great, I really hope it can recover from the bad launch and get continued support for years to come, it keeps showing just how good it can be with every new heist.
Time to appear after a long time! Hope you've been doing well! All in all, I think this is the best made heist yet, it is a big improvement from the FWB in PAYDAY 2 in my opinion. They really put a lot of work into designing and polishing the heist. I think the heist is a little easy on stealth but it can get quite difficult on loud, especially at the end where you loot the vault. Also I think the amount of XP you get from this heist is a pretty nice amount, it's worth the grind I'd say. The game has improved a lot over the past year I must say, I'm definetly excited for year 2 (let's hope they don't mess this up).
Hey there Cloaker, it's been a while! I've been doing fantastic, hope you're doing well also :) I haven't tried the heist in loud (stealth only!) but I really like both versions (PAYDAY 3 and 2). The XP reward was quite nice, so I might optimize my completion time, and use this to farm a few levels! Really looking forward to year 2 as well.
For when the computer is in front of the guard in the vault section if you can hide and just let them know it's sabotaged and searched they'll eventually leave the vault area all together and only like 1 or 2 guards will remain in the first section of the vault area, actually makes it alot easier, hard part is managing to hide away without getting caught tho
Very interesting!! I'll be checking this out soon. I focused entirely on avoiding the search, but I didn't think that perhaps they would move elsewhere, and make things easier for me. Very interesting trick!
@Marcmb it was very interesting indeed, I managed to not get spotted by the guard who patrols that computer area and hid down by the vault door, it was a bit sketch cuz two guards came down and one almost saw me but if you can scan the keycard fast and open the door you should be able to not worry as no guards seem to come into the vault room
Completed this heist before this video came out, and I can say: Yeah, I did it unmasked, even if there's a crowd of people constantly saying "stealthing unmasked is easy", because they just like to take the fun outta others.
I'm glad to see there's still some people looking to water Payday 3 into the Payday they want! It's difficult to look past all the bashing the game's been getting, so seeing a review like this gives me hope we'll be able to make it past the fallout.
To be fair I already knew this heist could be solo unmasked stealthed, did it on hard first day then overkill, the lasers and lead guard were an annoyance but managed it without even going into patrol with just camera hacks since there is no cerberus core which might have been a challenge, maybe future difficulties will give that..
Same here yup! I tried unmasked directly because I find it more fun. First day also (played it on release and uploaded today), it was just nice to confirm that the devs made it possible to stealth the whole thing unmasked :D
The reason that FWB feels so big is because it IS so big. They increased the size of the entire heist to allow for more spread out cops, more decoration, and to accommodate for the generally faster movement speeds in this game. (i don't think they accounted for the mach-fuck speeds you went at in pd2) I personally like it, it makes the heist feel more human or real.
Glad you liked this heist Krewer! These days I mostly play PAYDAY 2 personally, so if your PC can run that, I would say you're fine! Maybe in the future, when this game has more content, you'll have a better PC by then :D
It's good to be back! I'm enjoying both PAYDAY 2 and 3 at the moment. I have a guide for PAYDAY 2 coming next week, but I might work on some PAYDAY 3 guides as well. I really liked this heist, so it would be nice to compile some knowledge about it!
nicly done! I really love the improved stealth in payday 3. Although, feels kinda weord to stealth a heist without ever using your weapons, given the upgrade system. the stealth escape, very creative, i also like how they made it the guard at the end says everything checks out. if masked not, all you need to do is keep your distance until his animation is finished and he walks into the corner. Actally, i always wonder if he's supposed to talk to us, mistaking is as the van's drivers, or to whoiever is already in the van. Fun fact, this heist is the first to feature loorable ATMs, but they alerts guards in stealth.
The fact that he prepares the escape for us at the end is a very nice detail yup. Fanciest escape vehicle we have used on any heist! I noticed the ATMs very briefly, but I was constantly "Observed", so I didn't bother...
Already beaten it myself too and I must say I got lost in it like 10 times but manage to find all of things. The part of turning on correct colored switches was confusing for me bc game dont tell you that there is extra panel to hack first. About vault area its 10 times harder than before 5 guards in this tine space is quiet a bit. The vault it self looks clean and for atleast one time no bag moving sim. Overall good heist and some new paths are usefull. 2 things that are funny for me is that there is more vents than in among us and that the place before doors to vault area is public area and not private. Last thing finally rng generated heists in solo mode thats all from me.
That's true yeah, if you are not familiar with the "4 colored switches in the right order", the game should point you towards the initial console so you can get started. This puzzle was first used on Gold & Sharke, and it was impossible to miss there, but recycling it here brings this issue. The vault is definitely a lot more crowded, so the new "loot secure" method was definitely a good choice. Going to the vent for 21 bags with that guard density would have been a nightmare... Overall the map layout is good, the vents and lasers are cool, and RNG rerolls are the best!
all in all i'm satisfied with how they handled the heist, i think they should rework the latter part before the vault area becuase guards feel a bit cluttery at times and give the security computer another place to spawn because right in front of the guard is devious. thankfully no tedious bag moving (wish all heists would use this approach ESPECIALLY in stealth) and they innovated with new changes without ruining the experience for new comers of the series 8.5/10
I recently got gifted the game because of the big sale its on right now. I think the stealth is growing on me, which I think was helped by having done Black Cat stealth for the first time right before and that took an hour of resets. Only complaints with that so far is I think detection is a bit too unforgiving, I remember hearing it got a change to make it so that moving faster made you get detected faster, which I think just slows things down too much, and being a new player means missing out on the perks that make stealth good (can't even unlock them without "research"). Ironically, loud combat was what I thought PD3 would improve the most on when it first came out, but I didn't get to try it a lot in the beta, and now I'm finding it's really hard to adjust to it as someone who enjoys PD2 for the loud gameplay: super fast, responsive. Even on normal difficulty, PD3 cops feel like sponges. I'll keep giving the game a fair shake, and who knows, maybe Starbreeze will turn things around with time, but right now I'm more interested in doing the stealth heists I skipped in 2 as a teen and that new Den of Wolves game. No expectations for that one, but if they make it good, no complaints there.
The new detection is a bit weird yeah, the speed at which you get detected if you're sprinting is incredibly fast. Personally I would prefer if they made the detection almost instant at close range (similar to PAYDAY 2) while allowing you to still sprint at medium-far distances, but it seems the devs prefer it this way. As for the loud gameplay, I can't say much about that since I personally play stealth exclusively. Also really looking forward to Den of Wolves, so hopefully they make that a good one :D
As loud player I would say this heist on stealth is pretty easy I won this on 3 try but ... small fact on other gate side (left from entrance)/original payday the heist vault gate place this lasers are a way harder than right side. On loud there is too a lot changes like : - normal thermal drill here - On loud before vault there are extra gates blocking you passage - Thermite + now you must defend sprinkless unless you add extra thermite - Sadly no 4 dozers inside vault :c - 2 little gates at vault need 90 sec drill to open - When vault will open endless wave start -1 of 4 vents is loot drop point but this vent no connect to garage you just drop bag to vent and loot is secured - No any police at escape. Fun fact: you can mask up near insider on stealth he will no panic/escape, but when you meele him he won't help you anymore. You can also kill him lol or trade him for time on loud. Killing insider make ... You just need to find gate then wait for bile/alex drop you bags for thermite drill or find it on server room that's all :D
Good info! Extra gates blocking the vault in loud sounds interesting. I don't think I'll ever play the heist in loud (since I only do stealth), but it's good to know all this :D
@Marcmb Oh I forgot 1 thing : -for example you Got first Gates in right side From entrance on loud and also on stealth you can go and Press button and open left Gates so on loud you can open 1 entrance for loop/escape, same button like in main vault
I think the new layout is fine. Most of it is quite similar, and there's a new staircase behind the tellers (where we used to have just elevators) to access the top floor with a variety of routes. I like that there are vents connecting multiple rooms to be able to skip the search for QR codes, and the laser sections when entering the vault are really nice!
Good to know! Someone shared a screenshot today of the same entrance that I got, and the laser pattern was different for them. I was wondering if I just couldn't see all the lasers from the image, or if the pattern had indeed changed...
Looks good! I wanted to do some XP farming tutorials, but apparently you can pay real money to duplicate your XP reward, so I don't know how to feel about that, personally...
Haha! Back when the game launched I had a GTX 970, and I released one video with that PC but I had to play on low settings. So a couple months after this game's release, I upgraded to a 4070 and better CPU and everything.
