  • Hardest Difficulty - Give Me God of War GMGOW
This is a detailed walkthrough of what will likely be one of the greatest games of all time, God of War Ragnarok, on the Playstation 5.
A lot of the fat will be trimmed out of the gameplay, but I will be showcasing as much of the lore and story as I can.

Late because of a complete system outage in my neighborhood but as usual glad to share notes.
I appreciate the shout out. I like posting these because it helps me practice formating actual lecture notes and it seems like you are interested in the story and myths so some more detail never hurt.
Pretty sure raven keeper is original to Gow along with the spectral ravens as a whole.
Theres lots of stuff post game. Itll show up after main story.
Gerđ is actually Freyr's wife in the myths. A jotun who i believe was killed by thor (who else hm?)
Yep those group berserker are awful.
Highly recommend using the runic abilities you get from the ravens. They have amazing aoe.
As fun as te freyr/bifrost story is, bifrost is only the bridge in asgard and alfheim isnt very detailed so i think that lake of souls thing might be entirely Gow as well.
Can wait for you to get to the next sorta chapter, my favorite part for one very specific reason.
    I dont think i said before because it was before i started adding notes;
Hafgufa are not norse but much later icelandic creatures which are supposed to be more like whales with islands on their backs. No clue why they made them flying light jellyfish
Theres a particularly nice alternative dialog if you bring atreus to do the second hafgufa instead of freya which talks about kratos being willing to sacrifice his life for atreus and its very wholesome (i recommend doing sidequests with atreus instead for their unique dialog but it personal preference i suppose)
The light/dark elf problem i think might be some reflection of our real world problems being sortof conservation of the natural world (dark elves) versus destroying natural environments to better people (light elves). The problem is the light elf side isnt especially convincing since they also wipe their own history and directly attack innocent people and imprison those that disagree (my inference based of the lore from the library and freyr's dark elf and light elf companions). Obviously its probably more complicated than that but im not an expert on that topic so i shall keep my opinion to myself.
Freyr would be the type to smoke weed huh. (Dialog with atreus is atreus askes if he can try it and kratos says no)
Kratos speaking of pandora briefly when talking about the blacksmith and the box.
Laconic fables is referring to Esop's fables which kratos tried to tell in the 2018 game.
Freyr's sword makes an appearance here in the statue
I just love kratos telling mimir he's not funny.
The consul really likes the smell of paper. I guess fresh parchment can be nice but that amount of detail is just weird.
The Trip poem is the game Journey. A very nice game.
I would highly suggest fighting the last berserk in midgard after the main story.
Alfheim has a few sneaky things you have to look quite closely for. Assuming you are doing 100% completion, i would suggest coming back with a guide at some point. (If you have not already completed it already)
Smart to hold off on muspelheim, the crucible is similar to the muspelheim challenges from before but harder (and therell be something extra waiting there post-main story)
Not much in the way of mythology this time unfortunately. Side quests tend to stray from them a bit to focus more on the characters themselves.
If you are interested in learning more about Gow as a whole and the psychology of the characters a creator named Fatbrett made an entire series on deconstructing the characters and stories including a particularly good one on odin. Watch them after you finish the story though as they contain alot of major spoilers.
