I don't know if this had been said in the comments, but when Alex is talking about "the buttholes" at the very end, he's referring to the band The Butthole Surfers. The film 'Freaked' started as a horror film project for them called 'Hideous Mutant Freaks', but they dropped out and it became what we know today.
