    Must admit, I take a taxi from the airport to Nocelle, above Positano, for about €110, to avoid wasting precious holiday time. I usually just have a long weekend, and I’m not spending half of it on public transport. For a couple, that works out at €55/each and takes about an hour, if I remember correctly.

    What I did is stayed 3 nights in Naples and did a day trip to Pompeii from there. Then set off early in the morning from Naples to Salerno where I spend most of the day and stayed the night there. Then next day we went along the Amalfi Coast road stopping at Amalfi and Positano before arriving at Sorrento close to sunset where I stayed 3 nights and did a day trip to Capri Islands from there

      Your itineraries are very similar to ours that I am deciding on !! Just not sure if we'd stay in Sorrento ,or not as it's more expensive ( accommodations ), though they're very nice !!! We're on a very tight budget ,but avoiding hostels in Italy !! Lol.👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎵🎶💕💞P.S.also Napoli ...I am deciding not to stay there as I am very concerned of my elderly mother becoming a target of crimes !? I've read & heard many terrible stories of Naples . Very sadly .

      @brothersman524 3 года назад +2

      @@spark_6710 I think for safety reasons, it is very wise of you not to stay in Naples especially with your elderly mother. Stay in Salerno and you can do a day trip to Pompeii from there. Sorrento is a bit pricey but ir is worth staying there for a couple of nights anyway. From Salerno to Sorrento, you go along the Amalfi Coast stopping at Amalfi and Positano along the way before you reach Sorrento

And just go to Napoli for a lunch ...but went back & forth between Salerno & Napoli as Napoli is really cheap !! Lol.Sorrento is expensive ! Salerno is very affordable, but foods are very very cheap in Napoli & Napoli is known for the pizza where pizza came from !! Lol. But,after watching many videos of Napoli last night ,my decision went back to Salerno !! Lol. And now you're saying so ,too ! I am sold !! Lol. Salerno it is !!! @@spark_6710 Salerno is a great place to stay although I was only there for one night - it is the gateway to the Amalfi Coast and it is a beautiful place. Napoli Pizzas are the best, no doubt and yes it is cheap.. I did the day trip to Capri from Sorrento which is quite an expensive day trip. Your mom will be happier in Salerno than in Napoli

Napoli is very very Italian & I love that about Napoli !!! But ,dirty & rough !! My all time No.1 Roma is ,too ...not rough ,but dirty & so much smog !! Yes ,Sorrento to Napoli is the best way ,so you did it right !! The ferry can be expensive !! I suppose that was what you mean ? Or you meant the whole trip & costs in Capri !!? It's next to Amalfi. Less crowded and more quiet. Also a bit cheaper for accommodation and only 10 mins walk away through a tunnel. I hope it worked out well for you!

      Gabe Sanchez Hi, sorry for late response. you looking at about €15 for train from Naples to Sorrento and then about €10 for the bus from Sorrento to Praiano. (so it’s €25 per person) Also there is a cheap train from naples The Circumvesuviana which can take you to Sorrento for about €5-6. so in this case it’s about €20-21.
