Sound design is crazy underappreciated across the board. The past 4-5 years have seen amazing progress. I first noticed it in God Of War - the sound of throwing and retrieving the axe blew my mind. And since then I've been paying very close attention.
Modern warfare 2019 really pushed games into the having amazing sound design. One example something as simple as the bullet casings landing on different materials changing the noise.
I hope they'll push the possibility of "befriending" to something that can indeed differenciate itself from other extraction shooters. I like when people actually think of the advantages of alliances between different teams 🙂
They should have stuck with their open-world PVE vision instead of turning it into an extraction shooter with smaller maps. But good luck. Hope it’s successful either way.
This is one of those games I’m going to have to wait for the kids and wife to fall asleep to be able to really play and before I know it it’ll be 4am and I have work in 2 hours
@@CEO_Phenomenon Looter SHooter are more pve oriented games where you can farm one boss or a map all over again for your *build* items and you cant loose it when you are dead. Borderlands is a very good example for a looter shooter

Arc Raiders is made by embark studios which also made the finals. I know that ex battlefield devs are capable of making FPS games with stunning visuals but im a bit sceptical if they're able to pull this off.
Aside from apex since they took the entire studio, name one game made by 'former devs of (insert a once popular game here)' has ever been good? The finals has 15k users right now on steam. That is consistent with failure.
This is no where close to what was advertised. Unfortunate really, we went from a promising pve shooter to another souless and basic pvpve extraction shooter. The literally showed the most basic aspects of a game and expect anyone with a brain to be excited for this 😅?! Wow what a change

Been looking forward to this way more than the Finals. I'm not really a PvP or extraction fan , but, the art style, aesthetic, sound etc have all got me thinking this could be the one.....
I just want a PVE only mode. I don’t need yet another game to sweat. I want to be immersed. Someone who played I know said it is immersion breaking when you get merc’d by another team when the whole reason society moved underground was due to the ARC. The arc seem like an “accessory” to everything else instead of the focus. Imagine all of humanity being discovered cause you were greedy and wanted the stuff another team had. Seems… less believable. I don’t mind a pvp mode, the core focus should be PVE though.

I'm not familiar with extraction shooters, but what is the incentive of teaming up with a random person you meet during the match? I just think players are generally too trigger happy, and it would take one betrayal and players would never trust anyone ever.
Bruh wym? you want a non-teambased shooter. That isnt a battleroyale. not an extraction shooter. You want more cod? You want a solo gaming experience with no stakes? You want no team based synergy?

I think they have a good vision. The devs at embark have people in charge who have soeraheded innovation with every game they released BF4 bad company 2 mirrors edge, the finals with its mass destruction. They definitely innovate with this one.
I absolutely love the 70s sci-fi inspired art design. I so wish this was a solo campaign game instead of what looks to be a multi player online running errands simulator. Sadly I'm not the target audience for that sort of game but hopefully it does well and they expand.
Would've had interest in this as a looter shooter, but now that it's an extraction shooter...meh. The only extraction shooter I've ever enjoyed much was Hunt Showdown.
Interesting with PvPvE, hope the "E" part gets a ton of interesting ideas and love (polish). Really hoping for a "living" world progression system where events happen every week, month or so, like having a game master and lore.
I love tactical 3rd person shooters with cool environments and realistic mechanics. I'm also digging the concept of warring raider factions getting into skirmishes over resources from the surface. That being said, given that this is now a extraction shooter, a game mechanic that I think would be very cool to have is when you're killed, one of your buddies has the option to grab your bag full of loot in one hand, but at the expense of severely limiting his movement speed and only being able to use a pistol. Just imagine after a crazy gunfight and losing your homie you come back to base all like "hey man, I got all your stuff!". On second thought I can see this game mechanic ending friendships.
I was so hyped when this was announced years ago and that we'd all band together against the machines, they lost lost me when they went with pvp. I'm sure that was Nexon's idea and Embark had zero choice but to obey.

It looks interesting, but please remove the third-person view, or make separate first-person and third-person modes. That is, so that in one session there are only first-person players, in the other session there are third-person players. Personally, I wouldn't play this game just because it's only in third person. It is very uncomfortable. And it's annoying to be able to look out from behind a corner in third person. It's almost like cheating

@ It’s Only two extraction shooters on console and that’s vigor and hunt showdown. Vigor is just an abandoned game and not too many people know about hunt showdown. If it’s rightfully executed there’s plenty room for extraction on console. For pc players that’s tough but it’s already more than enough over there let the console have some things 😭

I don't play extraction shooters but this game absolutely blew me away and everyone I queued with were saying the same thing. I was legitimately sad to log off the game for the last time when the playtest ended. This will be my main game when it releases.

Given that the trailer is already narrated by AI and the characters do sound flat in their voice as well leading me to believe its also AI, you can tell it'll be the same story as it was with the finals. Chasing a formula of a game that lost its popularity a while ago and is dominated by a sole title otherwise. This is not going to end well once again.

"oh no not another extraction shooter" like there aren't 100 times more PvE games out there. Someone said this once, and now this is the main complaint.
I've seen it played. Everything except graphics and sound felt like ten years ago. I realize it was beta or whatever but it did not look good at all. Like they would have to redo so much.. And on top of that it's an extraction PvPvE. That alone is a hard no for me. But even if it wasn't my previous statement is still true.
I really was hoping this game would be colorful and have some unique fantasy elements and wacky elements instead of just a slow shootie game. I dont see any reason to play this over anything else right now sadly :(

Here the game feels really slow and I'm really not interested by the whole scavenging loot mechanics. We'll see but so far I'm not excited by this game at all.

I think a seperate Division Gameand Stalker Game can pull off one the best extraction shooter if done with good immersion.

I was so excited for this game. Until they turned it into a PvPvE extraction game and not what it was first unveiled as.
In the final game that final sequence are the players supposed to be going against bots? Or other players? will there be bots?
