    Yes, at the start I heard right away that something was different about it with it’s more cleaner side, but didn’t sound very Gilmour like. But then when you cranked that thing I did think it was maybe the best overdrive I’ve heard on your channel, or best tones overall. Cool playing.

    It will be expensive in Australia. The Vibe Machine costs roughly what I paid for my amp.
    You certainly made it rock.
    EDIT: Holy crap this thing sounds amazing, and Bjorn has never been better. Bravo.

    Thanks again for one of your extraordinarily well done reviews, you have such a high level of competence. The Plexi sound of the engine is great. I just came across Dry Bell gear recently when a friend of mine had my trying his vibe machine (V1, the red one). Those people at Dry Bell in Croatia are assemling some incredibly good gear.

    Zvonch has done it again! He spends so much time perfecting pedals before he releases them, I mean the Vibe Machine came out 9 or 10 years ago, and this is just his third pedal, and once again, he hit it out of the park! Just 2 days ago I was trying to figure out if there's a pedal that will truly give me a cranked Marshall sound out of my Reeves Custom 50, is this it? Or, are there better pedals for doing that. I'm actually considering selling my Reeves,cwhich has less than 15 hours at bedroom level playing on it, and trying to find a JCM Slash, the 100//50 watt hand wired model from 1996, in great condition. They only made 3000, and not knowing how rare they were, I sold mine for next to nothing, and it was without a doubt the best sounding Marshall both clean, and dirty I've ever heard. When I had it I had a rackmounted tuner, and a 71 ES 335 TD, with no pedals, other than the one that came with the amp to change channels, and turn the reverb on and off, and I had every tone I wanted at my fingertips. Is there a pedal that will truly make a classic 70s style hylight amp sound like a cranked Marshall? Same basic amp, use the same tubes? There has to be a way to get that sound without totally modding the amp! Please let me know Bjorn, it's too clean even with the PS for me!!
    Love you brother, Keith

    Absolutely fantastic tracks here Bjorn! I love those pickups too! The tone shines through when the boost is off! Are you playing with the tone on 10 or somewhere in-between? What pickup combinations are you using? The backing tracks always seem so interesting when you solo over them. What's the secret sauce? The chord progression, the scale, or the notes you choose to focus in on?

    So basically unless you use this with a Drybell 67, you won't get the best sounds? That is $600 just for a basic set-up then. That's asking a lot when new technology and products come out every day.

    Bjorn wanted your thoughts on something off subject...I'm looking to get a Stratocaster...would it be worth the effort to get the pickups replaced with the ones Gilmore uses or do the pickups that come standard work well enough with no noticeable difference....enjoy your channel my friend

    • @gilmourishofficial
      @gilmourishofficial  4 года назад +1

      It depends on what you like and prefer. My best tip is to go down to your local guitar shop and just try a bunch of models. Even the ones you tthought you wouldn''t like just to get a feel of what's out there. Get the guitar that feels right and worry about the pickups later.

    Mate, just a question, Can you stop making these demos, you're making me poor by buying them lol. Awesome demo as always. Slightly off topic, I'm buying a Hiwatt T20 combo amp for Gilmour tones. I'm using
    Strat, 2 Compressors rams Head, blues Driver and a bunch of other pedals that you recommend, Any tips for eq settings? Thanks

    • @gilmourishofficial
      @gilmourishofficial  4 года назад +1

      Hey, don't shoot the messenger! LOL!
      By EQ settings I assume you mean the amp? Depends on what tones you want, your pickups and the pedals but a good start is to have the normal channel up around noon and the master as high as you need - master should be lower than the channel. Mids and bass around noon or a tad higher depending on the above. You probably want the treble around 9:00 to aviod that harsh high end. Again, it's a start and be sure to set the amp and then match the pedals to get the best platform from your amp.

    Let's see if I get some advice from you Bjorn about this pedal. I bought it to use with my plexi (studio vintage). The idea was to emulate the front end of my amp at reasonable volume. No matter how set the pedal, however, it sounds full of mids that muffle my amp. Even the rangemaster side sounds full of mids to me. I checked out this video of yours to see how you set it with your reeves and noticed that the shape knob is crancked (I would have thought the opposite would be the case with a British amp). How do you suggest to set the OD and Boosts sections to scoop out some mids and let the pedal sound more neutral? Thanks in advance

    • @gilmourishofficial
      @gilmourishofficial  2 года назад +1

      The Plexi already have a lot of mids and compression so this pedal is more suited for amps with less mids and compression. Depending on how you've set the amp, I would roll back the shape control and increase the tone for a bit more sparkle.

    • @GBBRUNO
      @GBBRUNO 2 года назад

      @@gilmourishofficial First of all, thank you for taking the time to answer my query. I have tried to set the pedal exactly as you suggested (less shape more tone) but so far I have not found a sound I like. The perennial BD-2 remains the best bet for my amp (and for almost any amp, really). I also learned today that plexi amps are more mid-heavy that reeves/lionheart (which I assume are those you were using in the clip). I did not know it, but I guess music is a never ending journey. Thanks again for your much appreciated reply.

    Björn. Gilmour's tones apart, if you are looking for Marshall tones in a box, the best are PedalPalFX boxes. Please,
    check them out: www.pedalpalfx.com/
    Regarding this 'The Engine' box, it is good, but way too expensive, 340 €. With that money you can buy a Marshall
    head. Cheers, mate.
