Worked at CBPO 78-81. I don't recognize anything anymore either, but I'll always fondly remember about what a great place it was to be stationed. Outrageous countryside with amazing history. Partying with my friends at Greenham Common. Those days will never be repeated.
Thank You So Much For This Posting,I became so much more caring & Trusting while stationed there due to the friends I made outside the base as well as inside. The People of that area were golden.
I was there for 7 years of my childhood. Was living on base for 4 years of it. I still remember the mural of the tiger on the wall in one of the main squadrons there.
First assignment after leaving Chanute, AFB tech school. Arrive Feb,1967 and left Feb.1970 . Was part of the A&E group and had the job of Avionic Instrumentation tech on the RF-101C, RF-4C, C-54 and C-47. Wonderful time to be in England, so many great memories and people!
Don't suppose you know of a guy called "George Forton", he had dark hair a short stocky build. He would of been there around the same time and lived off base in Deddington. I'm English and would of been around 17 at the time, my god you guys use to through some damn fine parties.. Good times :)
