    The raymarching, raytracing and distance estimation of complex(yet simple) mathematical formulas is definitely amazing.
    Raymarching has always fascinated me in regards to computer gfx. If I understand correctly the process involves a very expensive calculation of drawing millions of line segments into an n-dimensional space from a "viewer position", while also constantly measuring the result for potential conditions set by the user (such as plane intersections, distance estimation, "escape velocity", physically based rendering principles, etc). The idea can go far beyond that as well, such as how fog and volumetrics are applied (visually or as a method of modelling noise), and also how a triangulated point cloud can be created that then allows other forms of uses to occur.
    Applied N-dimensional Topology is some serious magic.

    This would make a great Hotel in Las Vegas. You are on registration overlooking the casino and below the shops and dining above. Every room the same views.

    Stephen, you're obviously talented at this, but having to advertise your name throughout the presentation makes it into a commodity instead of art. Don't do that.

    • @StephenSink
      @StephenSink  4 года назад +4

      Actually, my name on my art prevents other people from stealing it and claiming it as their own, and turning my art into their commodity. It's a problem in the community, especially for still fractal art. People will shamelessly steal and sell your stuff. But, having said that, I actually stopped using watermarks on most of my videos. You'll notice that none of my recent videos have a watermark anymore. But I did that more out of an aesthetic choice (the watermarks get in the way) than an ideological one. So, thanks so much for the compliments and your advice was implemented several months ago. But also, what's wrong with art as a commodity, since you brought it up? Why should artists have to starve while others profit off their work? I'm sure you agree! Thanks again for the comments and the attention! I appreciate it.

      @@StephenSink - Dude, you did the music, too? Having played music for over half a century, this is something I can speak with some authority on. You, sir, are most impressive! You can bet I'll be checking out the others.

      @@onlyrick Ha! Yes, actually I am a musician and producer first (35 years now and I went to music school and all that but it's not my day job anymore), and a video maker and video director/producer/animator second. I wanted to add trippy visuals with my original music, and started to make my own. All the music on my videos is played by me or my project band, except what I do on consignment. Sometimes a band or artist will throw money at me to make them a video and I do like money, to buy more equipment, and make more fractals. I have a great day job and just do this because I'm obsessed with it. I play all the instruments (piano, Chapman Sticks, guitars, basses, Harpejji, percussion, etc.) and record in my studio. Cheers and thanks!

    The same music should have been re-mixed, spliced, warped, stretches....basically worked on. The visuals are great, the audio sucks.

    • @StephenSink
      @StephenSink  5 лет назад

      Thanks for your comments on the visuals. A lot of people would disagree with you that the audio sucks--and your manners suck! (Who says "your audio sucks" as a constructive comment? You apparently!) An original piano and strings tune that I wrote and recorded, and you think it needs to be "re-mixed, spliced, warped, stretches," and "basically worked on"? Why would you do that? And more importantly, if that's a style you're looking for, please create it yourself. This was a beautiful tune that fits the video well. Let's see your awesome tunes, please, and please have some manners and not be a stereotypical RUclips poster who probably lives in his mother's basement. You have aesthetically disagreed with my choices, but have some manners! "..the audio sucks." And so do you and your manners for the comment! But please feel better about yourself at my expense.

      @@StephenSinkI agree that this guy was a bit rude but you didnt have to be *that* rash. Internet is a wide place, people will probably have opinions that can be positive or negetive. Take those in like a champ, dont bat an eye for the negetive ones.. but accept the criticism
