I highly appreciate your appreciation, Vincent, but the real genius is the formula which does by itself what I couldn't imagine in its whole amplitude.
The color you see in the structures depends on the illumination of the fractal, also responsible for the color of leading edge. In this case two different global lights with warm, yellow-brown colors (Diff: cos, Spec: 0, HS checked and an intensity of 1e0).
Thank you very much, Don. While working on another animation with the same fractal (the main part of my Karl-Menger-Movie) I tried to avoid these slice effects by adjusting my morphing and camera. You know that it isn't an easy task with Bezier interpolations. Discovering the richness of the structures, which are in fact the construction plan of this hybrid fractal, I tried to make a dedicated movie by using exclusively these "errors", discovering what anyone may see in this animation.
Thanks for this kind of relationship with these two science fiction movies. But I don't know if anyone but you and me knows about that well hidden kid ;-) For my part, I first of all dreamed about this stuff before going to realize it in order to see what's really happening while scanning this fractal in more or less large steps. Like you, I've got surprised while discovering some of the resulting evolutions. It hasn't been a dream, but only organized chaos doing its regular job.
Hi..
Really fabulous. Brilliant, actually, doing the frontal slice and highlighting the boundary as it's drawn/undrawn. So the spherical objects wouldn't have the menger sponge appearance that they have here if it were purely taken from the mandelbox? How would they have appeared?
Arthur you've created an exceptional 3D fractal animation. I think the cross section really adds a lot to it but I can't conceive of how you could get that cross section out of Mandelbulb3D. Can you explain how you did it?
May I ask what are the parameters for this image. I can see that you are working on the Z axis at 0 and it is cut as it recedes at he beginning of the animation. The illuminated definition created is magical !!!
It's my own music, composed in 1994. I used it here unchanged, in its full length, and mounted the animation in accordance with rhythmical and/or atmospheric changes. A sonogram version of the track will be done soon and I'll send you a link.
This is absolutely incredible! Would I be able to use this in a video for an album mix I'm making? If so, would I also be able to overlay a centered Buddahbrot?
Of course. Just credit me properly as creator of the Mandelbulb 3D fractal animation and add a link to my channel in the decription wherever you publish it: ruclips.net/user/arturosta Let me know when your work is accomplished and send me please a link.
This is a masterpiece, but in my opinion you should have uploaded it at its original framerate of 30fps. What you seem to have done is downconvert it to 25fps without any interpolation, which unfortunately results in jerky motion. I wish I could see it at its original framerate.
+xemy101 Thank you very much for your comment. 25fps IS the ORIGINAL framerate: being a european creator, all my videos are rendered in Full HD PAL! My original movie is much too much big because of the very high complexity of some scenes (for example 1:20) and the rather poor quality of RUclips videos is proven by my movie. It's not really the fault of RUclips, because the bitrate which is necessary for viewing this video in his original quality, is not really available in a Netstreaming context. For best results, all my movies have to be seen with high bitrate directly on a computer or on a BlueRay disk. The original is fluid and has sharp details with no artifacts but is not freely available on RUclips or Vimeo.
+Arthur Stammet Hi Arthur, thank you for your explanation! That makes perfect sense. I didn't mean to pre-judge. I just played it through my projector which can play back 25fps natively and you're right, there's very little stuttering. I think it may mostly be a problem with PC screens and smartphones which are locked to the 60Hz standard. Thanks again and keep up the brilliant work!
Akbalaak If you're using a computer, you should see a little gear symbol at the bottom-right corner of the video window. If you click on that, a menu will pop up and you should see the word "Speed" listed and set as "Normal". Change that from "Normal" to "2". If you still can't figure it out, just Google "how to change speed of a youtube video". You might be using a device and/or browser which does not support the speed-change feature.
You're allowed to do it with following credits: "Minimals" by Arthur Stammet Please add the RUclips link You'll may download a 720p version on Vimeo (see description). Please send me a new comment with a link if you have finished and published your video.
imo, the genius come from how the artist is using his tools, not from the tools themselves. :)

Fantastic. I love how you use that slice effect to highlight the leading edge of the geometry. Well done!
Incredible---- I dont even know what to say other than I thought I could only dream what I just saw...this is like Matrix had a kid with Avatar
No problem. Will do! Thank you so much for the help!
This is just too incredible for words...

GENIAL !!! totaly awsome ...
awesome man
Unusual approach, better music.

Awesome! Love this!
Thanks, man!
Oh lovely! Thanks again :D
Кажется я увидел Бога!
Красиво! Было бы еще красивее, если уменьшить количество блесток на 80%.
Hey bro, can I use this for a video? Promise I'll give credit! Amazing effect you captured!

+Arthur Stammet okay awesome, thank you very much! this is probably my favorite fractal I've come across. I love the golden rendering thing.

intriguing - have you used white on Z plane ?
Oh thanks very much for that. BTW can you tell me the name of the composer of the title of the amazing music ::* perhaps a link ?

Anyone want to go on a trip?
Watch in fullscreen at 2× speed.
The Real Flenuan how you can put this at 2x speed?
