I enjoyed this video. i love Dune 84 version from David Lynch, and the new one and sci fi version were all cool adaptions of the book series too. Thanks for doing this. If you ever want to do your own full adaption of the Dune saga i would totally buy a copy if it was reasonable... like under 100 dollars a copy.

They wouldn't be able to refuse it. Not only because of the Golden Path, but Atreides were SO popular with everyone else, the Emperor thought it best they disappeared, just in case they or their supporters got any ideas.
Ahhh, they'd just get count fenring to have a kid with his wife's daughter by rabban if they could get fenring to stop clearing his throat for five minutes. They'd get their pet messiah, the Bene tleilaxu and Ix would be free to make an unholy biomechanical combo to rival the cymeks, and we wouldn't get a universe populated entirely by Duncan Idaho

to be fair, in the books i think it's explained that to reject this offer would give the emperor the excuse he needs to erase house atreides, so it's a bit of a dead-if-you-do dead-if-you-don't situation. dunno if that's brought up in the film
The third option was exile, but Leto was a proud man and thought that on Arrakis he would at least have a fighting chance if he can make an alliance with the Fremen. He underestimated how much money the Baron was willing to blow on this vendetta.

@@Akm72 It is a bit more complicated than that but sure. To give you the jist of it, the Emperor has power in the landsraad, because of his elite troops, the Sardukar. But Thufir Hawat, with the help of Gurney figures out two things. 1: The sardukar are trained on the Emperors prison planet, and they're though, because of the hostile nature of the planet. 2: Arrakis is even more hostile, therefore the fremen must be tougher than even the sardukar. Leto, is already more popular in the Landsraad, than the emperor, and if he could ally with the fremen he would have stronger troops too. Then he would only need to marry the emperors daughter, princess Irulan and he could ascend the throne that way. This is why he never married Jessica.
It almost worked. If they hadn't been betrayed it would have worked

@@hunaceandoes the betrayal come from the same person in the books, is it also the enabler for the Harkonnen assault? I'm just starting the books, please don't specify if it's different 😅 But in the movie I just thought that betrayal was literally going to be for nothing, why they would do that expecting that the other party would uphold their end; it was so many lives traded for 1 where really it was obvious it would not even be for 1. It was a weak story point.
1:41 When I watched this movie for the first time with my mom's cousins, when we saw Chani at the beginning of the movie, my mom's cousin and his brother-in-law (they're hilarious when they're together) joked around and called her "The Spice Girl." So it's funny to hear this joke being made in this video.
Was not expecting a whole thing with Lethal Company but I'm glad it did. PS now want more movies where they send them first, like Alien, Predator, Finding Nemo, I just want to see how they handle it

If you haven’t check out Neebs lethal company series it’s hilarious, as is all of their content, especially the stuff they were doing 3 + years ago like Sea of Thieves and Ark Ragnarok.

Its a game named lethal company really fun multiplayer game where you go to different moon and collect junks with your friend (or alone) there also a lot of enemies on the different moons and they all have very unique designs

Funny. But the reason that they didnt decline in the beginning was because the refusal of a great gift from the Emperor himself would have been seen as a great insult and an act of treason and started a war anyway. The Emperor intentionally did this to back them into a corner.
