Good job Craig! I see these guys every year in Woodland CA at the highland games there... They actually attract a bigger crowd than the athletes or the dancers... Even the pipe bands (that's me!) can't compete with these guys for drawing power. They play fast and loud, and are totally down to earth, nice guys... Plus, their stage is always wisely located near a beer tent... Viva Los Tinkers!
For those who didn't know...and need an even further reason to love this man. That string around his wrist...his son tied it there and he didn't take it off. I assume if finally just fell apart. You can see it in some of the interviews and in his stand up from 2008. What a dad. There isn't a diamond, gold, whatever piece of jewelry out there that could impress me more.
I bought the RANT album...fantastic. Had it in the car, some young punk playing loud hiphop pulled up next to me at a stop light so.......yep, put the Tinkers in and he turned his off!! I smiled the rest of the day!!! Thank God for the Scots, thank God for pipes & drums, and thank God for Craig Ferguson.
I do too! 😢 I use to live in the central valley of CA & went to many of the highland/Celtic festivals and always was all the wicked tinker's shows! I was usually out in front bouncing along to the music!
They played @ the 2011 Celtic Music festival here in Ocean Shores. They were really the icing on the cake of a great festival. I hope they come back some day. They were simply awesome.
I think I enjoyed this more than anything I've ever seen on Craig Ferguson show! I enjoy a lot of things but this is the best! Craig Ferguson as himself! I went right to the computer and bought four albums. But this is the thing I missed the most and the wicked tinkers. Ferguson just throwing down with them!
These guys are awesome. I've seen 'em in person at a couple Celtic fests I've been to here in town and they are the best! They seriously get into it and get the audience into it also.
I saw them play several times at this small (but now defunct) pub in the SF Bay Area!! To hear them on CD is a crime!!! They were born to play LIVE!!! Great stuff!!!
Finally some good music on American television. More, more, more! There are bands like this performing in Europe. Bring them over here. Please! Corvus Corax, Omnia, Faun, etc.
I happened to catch this episode when it aired, and have watched this video (or another RUclips video of it) probably more than a hundred times, as I watch it two or three every time I find it
Love his show... I Love the Tinkers! Wicked Tinkers Rock! Saw them in front of the New York New York in Las Vegas on the Brooklyn Bridge! The people on the strip just stopped and started bouncing to the music! :) It was great! Hopefully they will be in Las Vegas again this year! That show was so awesome, I can't wait to see it again! You can tell Craig here has played the drums before! He's got a beat too! :)
Sure brings back many Happy, Blissful, and hair-raising, tingly Memories of watching TWTs live at a few Highland Clan Games and Gatherings here in So. California !! I watched Craig Ferguson sometimes, too !! Now I need MORE BAGPIPES again in my “sedate” retired GrMa life !!!! * we used to drink lots of Guinness and single-malt, stand in the front rows to see which lads had gone “ Commando”, too !!!!!! A few good spins and high-fly in’ Kilt always revealed Everything !! Hahahaha !!!! Warren and Alan usually went There !!! Haha!!! 😂
I met Aaron Shaw in person, once.... he judged my solo piping, and I spoke with him afterwards. When he was at the Las Vegas Games this last summer, i spoke with him then. Really nice guy.
traditional culture based music is the some of the best music. not any of that hollywood mainstraim pop crap. im 16 and none of my age group enjoys traditional scottish tribal bands or african polyrythms. i enjoy all talent based music, not wats "hot". i pray that mainstream hip hop and rap grow old fast and ppl get back into the good stuff
I've always liked craig. has anyone ever seen the movie saving grace? if you haven't you should, he was great in it. it's a sweet movie about marijuana. yes, I said sweet.
@jimnmag This is actually in honor of him becoming an American. It's the second time he played with them, the first time was in 2006 (see video suggestions), and that was for his father.
I haven't watched this in a while, It is 2/1/10 and Craig has definitely loss quite a bit of weight since then......doesn't matter really, he still looks hot in this!!
I totally saw them with my grandma when I was little at some Irish or Scottish festival....For some reason I feel like I spelled Scottish wrong. Anyway, one of them told me that I looked like Brittany Spears...I didn't believe him, but I really appreciated his comment.
@JuicyCat2 If someone has never heard the pipes before you won't convince them to love them with youtube quality sound. Likewise, I won't try to convince you that tinkers are worthy of your love... but if you get a chance to listen to a cd or better yet, hear them in person I'd take advantage of the opportunity. If you like good pipes, you'll love tinkers.
@jimnmag The episode to which you refer is on RUclips as "Craig Ferguson 1/30/2006 - Eulogy Ending Wicked Tinkers feat Craig Ferguson". It was a different appearance by the group.
@jimnmag It was actually a different episode. They were on that one but this one is much more recent. You can tell because he's older and he's got the salt n' pepper hair. It was a nice, respectful gesture, though, for them to be on that episode in honor of his father. I think this one is when he got his citizenship.
This is why you can't just tell immigrants to "start acting American". Their heritage is in their blood and in their cadence - pun intended. I've known many immigrants, naturalized and still working on their naturalization, who become twice patriotic. Once for their homeland and twice for their new home. You're going to get the best of both worlds, never one or the other. It's a spiritual experience. It transcends politics many times over.
man, I miss Craig on Late Night. He was the best. Stinks what we have now.
Yeah Jimmy fallon and Jimmy Kimmel or RUclips.
A big "dittos" to that , pardner.
I STILL miss Craig at night 😢😢😢😢
2023 is still here. Miss Craig and the wicked!
The wicked tinkers were on the show multiple times. This was NOT the episode where his dad died. This was the episode where he got his US citizenship.
I see them every year at the games in Vista,Ca
I used to see them at the Sonora Celtic Faire, until I moved to FL :-( They're awesome, nice dudes and yes, always near the beer! Slainte'
I like how he really gets into it
I can tell he made all his scottish bretheren proud haha
I've watched this a thousand times and it still makes me cry.
I love Craig.
That is the coooooolest thing....EVER!...
Have you ever seen a Talk Show hos do anything as cool as this? I don't think so!

Love, love, love! If this music doesn't get you up and moving, nothing will.
Your dead if you don't start moving! 😂
The Wicked Tinkers are awsome!! I miss seeing them live on the west coast.
So tell them on their fb page and ask the folks at the Celtic Festival!
I see these fantastic guys in Vista,CA every June.Even my Filipino wife loves them!
From Hollywood to Woodland, CA. The guys were at the Sacramento Valley Games this weekend. Thanks Tinkers!
Wicked Tinkers are a blast. I've seen them at least a half dozen times at various Scottish/Celtic festivals and they're always a lot of fun.

And now we have James Corden singing karaoke with One Direction.

That traditional Scottish instrument the didgeridoo....I bet no American noticed.
Ok, so it's been three years. Time to bring them back, so I can watch Craig beat some drums.
@jimnmag It was actually a different episode. They were on that one but this one is much more recent. You can tell because he's older and he's got the salt n' pepper hair.
