Where to live in San Francisco: All about the Mission Bay and Dogpatch neighborhoods

    Are you looking for a neighborhood that has youthful energy, easy walkability with innovative places and views? I'm Yesenia Rogers with The Krishnan Team, join me today as I show you what there is to love about the Mission Bay and Dogpatch neighborhoods of San Francisco.
    Mission Bay and the Dogpatch are located on the eastern edge of the city against the water. They're bordered by Soma to the north Potrero Hill to the west and the Bayview to the south. Commuting in these neighborhood is a breeze. You have easy access to the Highway 280 tons of public transportation. You've got Caltrain, Muni that'll take you straight downtown.
    The weather in these neighborhoods is also fantastic.It's much like South Beach neighborhood where you enjoy a warmer climate although these neighborhoods do sit along the water.
    What you see of Mission Bay now is very different from what you would've seen a 100 or even 15 years ago. These up and coming neighborhoods are breeding grounds of innovation. Mission Bay is home to several companies like Dropbox, Genentech, Uber, biotech companies and many big pharma companies as well offering many employment opportunities for those that live here.
    If you are a sports fan, Mission Bay is a great place to visit. It's home to the Golden State Warriors' new Chase Center that's right behind us the Chase Center is not only home to the Golden State Warriors but there are several restaurants they actually have an area where you can watch the game outside bring your own food and drinks and just hang out on the beautiful steps. They have a huge projector.
    We're also a very short walk to the Oracle Park which is home to the San Francisco Giants. It's about a 10 to 15 minute walk from The Chase Center. So if you're a sports fan this is definitely the place to visit. A really exciting development coming to Mission Bay is Mission Rock Resort. It's going to be about 2.7 acres of public open spaces that sit along the water, office spaces, residences and just so much to do a part of that development is Mission Rock Restaurant that's already developed. It's a great place to have some seafood and drinks on a lovely day and sometimes they offer live music.
    Also in Mission Bay you'll find 4th Street. 4th Street is a neighborhood downtown that has so much to do. You can go to a Pilates workout there you can go to Core Power for a hot yoga class. Cafe Reveille is a great place to grab a coffee post workout and an acai bowl. They also have Gus's Market which is one of my favorite market. You can find fresh produce there. Just straight down 4th Street you can also go to Spark Social which is an outdoor food truck park it's a great place to bring the kids. There's many places to like play games, mini golf and have just tons of options in terms of different food trucks that you can enjoy.
    To balance out the tech forward Mission Bay neighborhood, adjacent is the Dogpatch. The Dogpatch is a bit more quirky and trendy. Artists and creators love to live here. The Dogpatch has its own patch of restaurants and shops that are beloved by the locals. The Dogpatch is also home
    to one of the most stunning and new places to have a great dinner with friends with the view. The new Palm Court at the Restoration Hardware Building near Pier 70. You can actually go up to the rooftop with no reservation grab a drink at the wine bar in the lobby.
    So what does it cost to live in these neighborhoods? Well the Mission Bay neighborhood is a bit more expensive than the Dogpatch neighborhood due to its views. Though it's less expensive than South Beach as it's a little further out and less developed. Currently the median price for 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo in the Mission Bay neighborhood is at $1.5 million and just shy of $1,200 a square foot. Though, there have been sales for a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo as high as $3 million in the neighborhood.
    The Dogpatch neighborhood is also another great place to just get your dollar to stretch a little further and gain some appreciation. 2 bedroom, 2 bath condos there are currently at a median price of $1.1 million with the average price for square foot of $1,000 These areas are only going to continue to develop as more and more tech companies UCSF and the biotech firms draw more people into the neighborhoods making more restaurant owners and shops wanting to open up shop here.
