From 1909-1982. By 1983 Union Pacific Railroad own the line and merged with Western Pacific. Also BNSF trains using trackage rights over the UP to get to the inside gateway. The UP's Canyon Subdivision begins in Oroville, CA & ends in Portola, CA Where the UP's Winnemucca Subdivision runs between Portola, CA -Winnemucca,NV. The BNSF Inside Gateway Subdivision stretches 203 miles between Keddie, CA & Klamath Falls, Oregon

How do you get such good sound fro 1000 feet in air?
My wife and I walked the whole loop. A maintenance man came by in his steel tired truck. Told us to be careful. Trains? Bears? Lions? No. Gang members hang out in the underpass. How disappointing after beautiful day.
