    I absolutely love “Clash of the Titans” in the states. This is the best panel of host. I love keeping up with my British friends. Americans love the Royal Family too. Britain is going through lots of the same things that are happening here, immigration, healthcare, inflation.

      @@allykatharvey The monarch is a figurehead and apolitical. The UK has a CONSTITUTIONAL monarchy. Which means that the monarch does not interfer in politics.

    • @Raven44453
      @Raven44453 Час назад +1

      After Cromwell the Monarchy was reinstated as constitutional , but with two powers to ensure a dictator could ever take over the country
      1, The right to remove assent from government
      2, control of the armed forces to remove that government if needs be
      The armed forces swear allegiance to the Monarch not the government, and the King still has the right to dissolve parliament, it was last done in 1834 when assent was removed from Lord Melbourne PM

    I nearly died last year due to a diabetic incident. Ambulance came and I spent an hour on the hospital ramp..Got a bill for $90 for the ambulance. It is what it is here in NZ…If the NHS start charging, I guarantee that ridiculous non emergency call outs would decrease by 90% and those who need an ambulance for life saving treatment would get it.

    • @Edward-k7z

      That is a good idea and we would need.less staff

    • @allykatharvey
      @allykatharvey 2 часа назад +2

      The problem doesn’t rest with the ambulance service but with a lack of hospital beds. The accountants give the inflated price of beds as an excuse for cutting down on the hospital wards. If we just reopened the “cottage hospitals”, most of the problem would evaporate.

    In America if you have paid for your fire insurance you get a sign to put on your gatepost. If you haven’t got one they will sit and watch your house burn. If you’ve not paid into the NHS for at least 5 years (benefits do not count) you have to pay for health insurance and you don’t get treatment till you show that insurance or give the hospital a credit card!

    I agree with the ambulance situation in the West Midlands, I went to Solihull A&e which is no longer, a working A&e and was sent to Redditch A&e where I was eventually seen, I was suffering from pleurisy, I found driving incredibly difficult due to the pain when I breathe in, felt like I might have an accident that had no choice.... I did eventually get treatment but it is not safe to not have the help you need when you need it. In the West Midlands it is like this or the time and it is not acceptable we need our local A&e open.. no doubt it is the same all over the country. 🇬🇧🇬🇧

    I'll be 65 in January. I haven't been able to see a gp since September 2019. I've had a lump above my breast bone for just over a year, I can't get an appointment to see my gp. The lump goes down then re-appears, which makes me think it's not serious?? But it's painful every time it comes up, and it hurts with even a bed sheet touching it. I've given up though, as it's impossible to see anyone. I have blood tests, Diabetes checks and jabs by nurses. I've asked them if they can check the lump, but they refuse. Like I've said to everyone, "well I'm still alive, so I guess it's nothing?"

      You can ask for a mammogram. The nurses who run them usually work as a separate team from GP surgeries. It might be a good idea to get one just to put your mind at rest. If your lump is very sore, it might be something like mastitis or a cyst. Best to get it checked out. 😉👍

    This chaos of the NHS results from the steady influx of more and more civil servant 'administrators' to document and comply with processes and KPI's that have been set by other public servants and their indexed pensions who have never really held down a productive role. That also includes politicians who need to have completed at least 10 years working in real jobs before they enter politics.

    Brilliant discussion from the 4 of you as always, but Mike Graham has stolen my nickname of Starmer! I've been writing in on Mike's programme quite a few times ever since that lying, thieving, useless man took over from the last election and I've always referred to Starmer as Stalin Starmer!!! so Mike you've taken my nickname and claimed it as your own !! cheeky boy!! On a serious note though, keep up the good work, I'm always joining in with your discussions whilst watching you all on my laptop, my 2 dogs and 3 cats think I've lost the plot!!

    Its not a shortage of ambulances or Paramedics, its a shortage of beds on wards, started by Tony Blair. Ambulances used to hand over patient and go on to the next emergency, because there are no beds on wards patients cannot be moved from A/E where they have limited beds.

    If NHS became privatised, probably be cheaper for majority of the working people, but who would pay for all the others, most working pay twice for there presciptions, cash over the counter and then in there national insurance contributions. And now with the rise in national insurance cotributions by companies that is a reduced pay rise for the worker. Bla bla but untill a new system can be invented NHS is still a great system but less so for the worker.

    Sorting out the problems in this country is not the massive problem they all make out it is! All that is needed is the will to do them and appoint the right people to oversee the development of the schemes! On housing, Allow the councils to build new council houses, & give them the ability to build on both brown & green sites! On the NHS give the job to serious business men who have exemplary track records of turning round failing companies, so it can be run on the same basis as these successful companies, all bar the profit margin! With the purchasing of drugs and other essentials being put out to tender for the whole of the NHS so we get value for money, & value of products!

    I know when we play the 'blame the NHS game' that I usually blame the management & the dozen assistants each manager 'needs'... But there's another area to consider - suppliers to the NHS are charging top dollar whether it be a paracetamol to dressings to catheter bags to bedding etc etc... paracetamol for instance you can buy for 37p in Tesco, that same box the hospital gets charged £2.65 for that exact same product... everyone who supplies products to the NHS are on a 'RIP Off' & they know it, captive customer & they need that product - maybe the goverment needs to look into ALL aspects of the supply system because at every level they're all taking a cut...
