When I was a little boy in Catholic school I would ask questions like, "Didn't Jesus say that God is WITHIN each one of us?" and they would tell me I was being a heretic and proceed to physically beat me. It never deterred my inner feeling though. A lifetime of seeking has grown into the most wonderful sense of oneness with the Source of Creation and Creation itself. @@trixy8669 You're partially right, we weren't just beaten...with paddles... for asking questions, see that's what was not acceptable. They would pour out a bag of split peas on the closet floor, make us kneel down in there, and close the door for hours. ❤🙏
@Check Playlist 4 Truth LOL yes well I definitely learned from it. Full disclosure here, I wasn't an angel as a kid so on the same token, one could feel sorry for the poor nuns who had to put up with me and my cohorts for eight years. 😬
Dear brother. Why did they not read the bible. It is all there isn't it?! God is within us. Gid showed me this at 5vyrs of age. It's beautiful how God speaks to a child. God us not He or She ir It. I have sever PTSD about all those that call themselves Christians or Catholics. I was raised Catholic, and beaten by racist, violent, catholic Nuns and Priests. I know there is a GOD!! There has to be something GREATER THAN ME. I don’t want to hear there is a difference between God and Jesus. I don’t want to hear that your interpretation is the only way for me to believe! I don’t want to hear that there is only one way to kneel to God. My God has no face, no body, only PURE LIGHT. I love listening to those that invite me to open my heart and mind to SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE. I seek what we as humans are supposed to be and practice….. TO LOVE. TO SEE EACH OTHER AS A MIRROR OF ONES SELF REFLECTION. TO BE COMPASSIONATE . TO BE KIND. This is what OUR CREATOR, OUR HIGHER SELF, OUR DIVINE LIGHT, WANTS US TO BE. WE AS HUMANS MUST BEHAVE AS IF ALL OUR RAGE AND HATRED OF OTHERS, WILL HURT AND DESTROY OUR SOULS!
It is terrible. How is a normal person supposed to forgive that. Poor Jesus...he tried to give the right material to send out the message, then humans came along with their manipulations !! Think of how hard he tried..
Now that I started kvetching.. I was brought up in the Christian Science Church...I think Mary Baker Eddy was trying to create mystics. In my case it proved itself through the practicioners. Over 10 years ago I had a life altering experience with Christ and I can’t believe I just now discovered the Christian Mystic line of the disciples of Christ. I see this becoming more mainline. It is essential. For so long I’ve described my connection to Christ as something closer to Buddhism but with the language of Judeo-Christian experience. Not a perfect sentence, but good enough. Blessings to all.

What a gentle and succinct explanation of something I thought beyond words. It’s like hearing someone describe your childhood home with all its secret hideaways and quiet shaded places. Well done brother.
This is a very good summary on Christian Mystic. The purging for me was on shame, fear, rage and then purging on hopelessness, nothingness and powerlessness. The illumination creates these different educational principles and mainly learning to just let go. The dark night, for me, is this weaning from needing to accomplish and achieve. The dark night creates little concern with doing and being whatever I believe will make me feel worthwhile, such as having success, achieving goals, building myself up and winning rewards. There is no role to play nor can I make the role valuable. There is no purpose, which is why it is a dark night. For me the dark night has become this transparency bridge and the real transformation is needing to draw upon a Deeper Source and being unable to do it. It is like moving from a state of consciousness to a stage of consciousness and the stage is empty, which creates this powerlessness within. The stage seems to be setting up Divine Union and to allow the ego to slow down and rest, as the stage becomes this awareness of Being itself as the source of this identity as Essence. The stage is simply resting and the stage becomes real peace when nothing sticks in the consciousness. Serenity moves in and the stage becomes this acceptance of the conditions I am working with, nothingness. When I am in acceptance and serenity the stage seems to allow the energies of life to flow without this need to resist or trying to control this emptiness. This Divine Union as this nobility of love I know not, as I am still adjusting to this empty stage. The stage right now is serenity into powerlessness and is just this place to begin.
My friend that is barely the beginning of the road. Keep going still, and the empty realm will reveal to you forms and structures of truth. You will be down on your knees crying tears of extreme joy.
@Solomon: Man. That was brilliantly, wonderfully expressed. I also feel the emptiness, that sense of infinity and wonder. It used to hit me sporadically when I was younger, and I remember it would just stop me in my tracks and I’d just stop and stare off not knowing where I was, who I was, or what or where any of this place is. Know what I mean? I bet you do. Now I know exactly what to do to trigger it, and then I stay there. I do that because when that nothingness feeling first started to occur, there’d be anxiety. It was also wondrous and interesting, but I’d start thinking of a responsibility or some concern of mine to snap myself out of it and get “back aboard Earth.” At some point I read a Zen practitioner that said when that happens, when you slip into that, to STAY there as long as you can. So I started to do that. Now I go in and out of infinity at will. It’s very strange, and it has been the most interesting thing about my life. These things are what I’m most interested in. I can understand your struggle. Can we all completely surrender like Ramana Maharshi did? We have to live in the world, raise our families, work and have goals to a degree. But that zone is always there, calling us. And as I get older I sit and watch all the trees and plants here in my forest blowing to and fro in the stormy wind and just stare off as I melt into nothingness. And then there’s the explosions of light in and around and the tears of joy that I want so much to share and tell others of but really can’t. Your comment is five years old. I wonder… how are you doing, Solomon? Holler back when you can. I’m interested in your vision since you wrote this masterpiece. Aloha. 🤙🏽
A true Christian, mystic or not will have an understanding of Unity with the Divine hopefully. God in us the hope of glory. Love how you discuss the ego and the dissolving of its participation!
Some (institutional) Christians are very opposed to this idea though, which I really don’t understand. They see union with the divine as heretical, as well as methods like meditation. But even Jesus said “the kingdom of heaven is within you”. He also said “if thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light” (the third eye.) There is a lot of mysticism in Jesus words, but some modern Christianity strips all the mysticism from the Bible because they see it as heretical.
Nothing is so pleasing and so delightful in human life than this mystic experience--parallel with the discovery of ones Inner Self, or the True Image of GOD in Oneself--and it is now a year since I had experienced this reality. Yet, it only recently that I came to realize that MYST ISM is theologico-philosophical concept dealing essentially about such experience. Sudden, dramatic and immediate. Oh GOD , I THANK YOU FOREVER FOR HAVING LET ME EXPERIENCE YOU IN THIS WAY.
These experiences are presented to those who are really blessed by God . For us who have experienced God in tangible lever are truly humbled by God's presence.
I believe in the divine, because of an experience I had, not that I understand it all, but I know that there is a heavenly presence amongst us. The problem is that I have not cultivated this experience, so I live day to day like everyone else. But I enjoy life and wait for slipping into the unknown. I think St. John of the Cross is a great example. He gives an account of darkness making us acutely aware of the smallest light.
This makes a lot of sense for me . it’s not an easy path to walk but it seems once it is started and you see reality there isn’t a way to turn back . easiest way would be to live a hermit life . But it’s not conducive. Especially the way the world is now . It is a hard path but the rewards are incendiary. i can barely imagine how I survived without God before . I don’t know why I deserve this path but I am thankful ✨
I loved this. I see Moses in this. He breaks away from the norm, goes up Mt. Sinai, and brings divine revelation of the law to the people below and brings the Logos, (order) to the confused/misguided people of Israel. I see myself in the "Illumination" stage. Pray for me that I get to union with God.
@Roblox Lua Christian mysticism teaches that one must leave the world and its passions in search for God. Moses left the Israelites 9n the bottom of the mountain in order to attain the ten commandments. He went up the mountain. The image we see is a pointed top and a wide base that makes up a mountain. Defined and Devine truth is found at the top symbolized by the pointed top, while the bottom only offers subjective "truth" that man must make for themselves. Such was the golden calf. But to seek God and not be satisfied until He reveals truth- that is Christian mysticism. After all Christ is defined as the "one greater than Moses." Moses was a precursor to Christ. It would only be normal for Christvto spend 40 days in the wilderness, just as Moses spent 40 days on the mountain.
@Roblox Lua Yes it is union with God, but the means of this union is through prayer, silence/solitude and several other spiritual disciplines such as reading the scriptures, fasting, giving, and let us not forget the Eucharist. Yes, Jesus is God. But in his humanity, He too needed to have union with the Father through the Spirit.
@Roblox Lua First off, we are not getting transcendent knowledge. We are not Gnostics. Remember Christ was fully human AND fully God. In His humanity, He had to gain direction and insight from God the Father through the Spirit. He came to show us the way to union with God and make the Holy Spirit available. Prayer and meditation are inseparable. True prayer contemplates and meditates. Just talking to God is never true union, nor is it always effective. God always knows our hearts and our intentions. I forget who said it but look up the quote- "Prayer is the burden of a sigh; a falling of a tear. An upward glancing of an eye when none but God is near." Sometimes prayer is to learn from God, or it is a pouring out of emotion. Either way it is authentic. God meets us in our prayer. Hence, it is a discipline that leads to union with God. To your second point, through the Spirit, we partake in the divine nature, but we never become divine.Think of steel that is placed in a fire. The properties of fire are heating and lighting. As the steel sits in the fire, it begins to glow, thus giving off light and it is heated, thus giving off heat. Though the steel shares in these properties of lighting and heating, it never becomes fire, but always remains steel.
@Roblox Lua Union with God is the forgotten doctrine of the west. Luther, Calvin, Owen... all of them talked about it. Life in the Holy Spirit let's us see that we were not only crucified, buried and resurrected with Christ. But we are seated with Christ in heavenly places, (ascension). There is a truth that He is always present, but He, through prayer and us "closing the door and meeting God, who is unseen," we have a deeper understanding of His closeness in us and us in Him.
@Roblox Lua Well, what is union in marriage? Two become ONE flesh. True unity with God. The difference between knowing things about God, and actually knowing God. We are "In Christ." Paul says, no one knows the mind of God but the Spirit of God." When the Spirit fully inhabits the body. We are a continuation of the Incarnation. That is why it was better that Christ, the Man, went back to the Father; it was the only way He can truly stay with us and in us and continue to save humanity. That is union with Christ. He still lives today, not just at the right hand of the Father but in us, and we in Him.
Its a personal relationship with the Divine . There is no mtstery ,when he calks apon you ,there is no going back .All energy ,Being drunk in the holy spirit .Profound experience . Devotion ,pure trust in god
Superlative! Thank you, Brother Marc, for this succinct yet meticulous introduction to the world of Christian mystics. You're one of the best I've seen at teaching the mystic way. I've noticed a somewhat alarming trend today with many advocates of Christian mysticism that tends to omit the miraculous component that was always extant in the lives the ancient, medieval and renaissance mystics. They seem to believe that one can achieve union of the soul with God without the natural consequence of miraculous gifts and prophetic oracles. Nowadays, if one can write flowery spiritual poetry or engaging essays about sublime piety, that alone is deemed enough to encapsulate authentic mysticism. This appears, to me, to be a subtle and dangerous drift from the beauty of true Christian mystagogy which is always accompanied by some sort of preternatural phenomena.

Yes, you mostly nailed it. 16:17 this is where I am. I am compelled to give love now. I'll sit in my car and send love energy to passersby. I tip huge. Since loving all unconditionally, my life was never the same again.
I do the same thing. I have even found myself giving love to the creations of man. Simple things, like a road sign, a house, a light pole, etc. Someone, made something for a purpose and that something provided that creator an income and a means to provide to those that they loved, and for that, I send my gratitude and love towards them. ❤ I give it an appreciation.
My word...Ive been following Eckhart Tolle for some time and have begun to question...".what am I ?" in regards to my spiritual journey....the man articulates perfectly how I feel and what I've been experiencing. Wonderful...
What you presented here is ingenious. I have been a practitioner of Buddhism, especially in the esoteric traditions (Vajrayana), for years due to my affinity with the Buddhist traditions. However, what you have presented here is similar to many steps of the mystical path, even in the Buddhist path. As a naturopathic doctor, I understand the importance of fasting, meditation in solitude and the love towards living beings. The consequence of such practices can bring us closer to the divine. I think this is the true religion--a personal connection to the divine. When politics and ego get in the way, however, it taints the essence and purpose of the spiritual path. Thank you for presenting this. Now, I am reading the Bible and when I see it as a map of the spirit, there is not much difference from my Buddhist learnings--only words and terms. I do wish and pray for more insights and path towards becoming closer to Divine Union. Thank you for your work.
Fantastic insights Javier! A quote from Meister Eckhart comes to mind "Theologians may quarrel, but the mystics of the world speak the same language." Rational mind divides with its language, concepts, and narrativizing, but at the level of being, an ever greater sense of oneness, joy, acceptance, love...dare I say divine union with self, God, and other, becomes possible.
i pray the Lord may reveal His true Self to you as you read His word. i pray that you may read the text carefully and discover a God unlike any other. a God so great and so holy that we, in our frail humanity, shall never reach Him. i pray that He may open your eyes to see how infinitely short we fall but also how infinitely low Jesus stooped to save us. we cannot come near to God with a veil keeping us separate: only by Jesus's blood. "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep." -- Jesus, John 10:9-11
Mystical experience is the only source of ultimate truth. I once saw the visions. I now dream the dreams. It does make you an outsider, always contemplating and battling powers you can never express but understand intimately. These are the last days. We are growing in numbers.

I'm Christian, but not a mystic, however I do want to be one because being in a divine state of awareness sounds amazing. It also seems like a great way to always have the presence of god within you.
I am a mystic that believes in Christian Universalism meaning that we will all be Reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. God bless I Timothy 4:10-11 NKJV For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. These things command and teach.
the fact that you married "mystic", "Christian", "Universalism" and "Jesus" in one sentence sickens me. like, ew “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." Matthew 7:13-14. not all are saved "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16. salvation requires belief, without which no-one can be saved
@@deeveevideos oh, hii! reread my comment and maybe the tone was a bit harsh? still mean it, just coulda said it better. these views just don't align with the Bible as a whole anyway, faith is one's own. i would also say that faith comes from hearing of Jesus the Messiah, the real one described in the Bible, but yes, it is one's own decision to believe or not believe. (and i mean "comes from" in a "because you were presented with this evidence and then choose to believe it" typa way) it is one's faith... in Christ
@@thando6109 to be fair the Bible doesn't have a view, people have view of the Bible. And because of that people can interpret it in multitude of different ways. The way I view it is the way Jesus said we have a good father in heaven. That even us who are evil know how to give our kids good gifts how much more would our heavenly father give us. And then the gospel is said to be good news, what happens to those who hear it and don't believe versus those who never hear it at all?
@@deeveevideos hi again. that's a weird thing to say. what do you mean by view? like i really don't get what you mean. because saying that kinda implies that there isn't a right way to interpret the Scriptures, or that God had nothing concrete to convey in these texts written down and preserved; that, ultimately, the Bible is meaningless or arbitrary if its meaning is whatever the reader decides. or perhaps you mean in this particular context. either way, the Bible does "have a view". a clear view. on lots of things. sin. marriage. morality. eternity. the nature of God. the atonement of Jesus Christ and to whom it applies. because statements like, "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." (John 3:18) have a correct meaning. yes, there can be alternative interpretations but that does not nullify the existence of truth and the Author's intent nor does it imply that any other view, because it exists, is valid. you can read Romans 1 also, the rest of John 3, John 15, 17, for example, and see that the Bible contains words. these words have meaning and these meaningful words strung together make clear claims. looking at the Bible as a whole even, the view is God made man and all things. man rebelled, severing the relationship between God and mankind, and continues to. God hates sin and justly condemns man to death---it's what we deserve for wronging others and ourselves and, most of all, disobeying God. but God, throughout the pages of the word, saves those who believe and obey Him---ultimately in Jesus---from their *deserved* judgement.

This might have been enhanced by expanding the experience of mysticism beyond the relatively narrow constraints of Christianity. Mysticism is a human experience that transcends western thought - Hunduism and Buhdism both have rich mystic traditions - that connection between different human tribes to engage in 'higher thought' is a richer vein to tap into.
Avsolutely agreed Gerard! We find, though, that the vast majority of those who identify as Christian are often unaware of the mystical strand within their own tradition, and can become a kind of gateway toward greater curiosity and interest to those mystical strands, whether Advaita, Sufism and others outside the tradition. We also have teachers in our community who tech on those traditions, but that was beyond the scope of this video, which is the opening of a course specifically on the Christian mystics.

I wouldn't be so quick to label yourself. The ego always wants a label to identify with. This is the illusory nature of the ego. Always clinging to identify with the false self.
Did we calculate the part of things like the Inquisition, The wars of the Roses, The black death, Syphilis in the coming of mystical conditions? You did really well with this.
Transcending concepts is not the same as contradicting sound infallible doctrine. It transcends it in the sense that such things can never be fully understood. However, it is important to realize this because the idea of mysticism without limits leads many good Christian souls astray into self-deception.

Yes, we are a weird lot. An excellent explanation of the subject. I particularly like your definition of a mystic as someone who has had personal experience of that, which lies beyond. I don't know a lot about Christian mystics but I know they exist and as it has been said; we speak the same language. Hello, which books do you recommend on christian mysticism? I have just bought Meister Eckhart's lectures and St. Teresa of Avila's inner fortress and would like to know what other books are recommended?
For a broad overview, you can't do better than Evelyn Underhill's book Mysticism. A little more scholarly are A Course In Christian Mysticism by Thomas Merton, and The Origins Of The Christian Mystical Tradition by Andrew Louth. Bernard McGinn compiles readings from primary sources and Carl McColman has several much more accessible, less scholarly overviews. For a more practical entry point, Richard Rohr's The Naked Now: Seeing As The Mystics See is very good!
You are the book meditation is the key and there is no evil except the carnal mind you sacrifice to God in meditation... Hopefully this comment doesn't get erased... Maybe because I put a link to my video explaining 😂
I remember catholic school..as strict as it was, I believe it was a meant to be experience. If that physical and ment abuse was today, I think people would be in jail for sure.
Thank you so much for sharing this excellent lecture! You are certainly one of the best! I can't wait to hear your talk about Mechthild of Magdeburg. Could you also add St. Gertrude on your list of Christian Mystics? Love and peace,
When I was a little boy in Catholic school I would ask questions like, "Didn't Jesus say that God is WITHIN each one of us?" and they would tell me I was being a heretic and proceed to physically beat me. It never deterred my inner feeling though. A lifetime of seeking has grown into the most wonderful sense of oneness with the Source of Creation and Creation itself. "Brian" has dissolved and all that is left is pure loving awareness. Love and blessings to all seekers who read this. Never give up! You are Divine and the Divine is you.
I have a hard time believing anyone would "beat" you for quoting scripture.

The Dark Night of the Soul reminds me of the Carl Jung quote "One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”
Beautifully rendered! This strikes me as very close to Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee's characterization of Sufism as "the dark side of love"

Also contemplative prayer has its origins from the medieval period, so there is no way they can copy that practice from Hindus and Buddhists because of the lack of contact between them.
I went to RCIA and it separated into me asking questions like when did that dogma develop...

One question do you think Christianity is 100% rational and I'm saying that as a Muslim
@@theguyver4934 Jesus Himself is real, guyver. He is here in our midst, in a spiritual dimension not of this earth, and is saving and drawing multitudes to Himself. Jesus Himself appeared to me in a vision and transformed my life in His Love for me. He also took me into the Spirit and made the past present to me as He showed me the Passion, Crucifixion, and Resurrection of Himself as if I was right there 2000+ years ago experiencing it all as it was happening. All it takes is just one look into His Eyes of Love and we'll never be the same again. All should seek to know Him and experience the Power of His resurrection. (Phil 3:10)
@@midgiep6254 - But do you think Christianity is rational
@@theguyver4934 Christianity, Christ is not about rationality. It's not supposed to be. It is all about Spirituality. It unfolds the spiritual dimensions of God.
Islam is about rationality. How to apply the spiritual dynamics to flesh. The material world and it's limitations and protocol.
What a gentle and succinct explanation of something I thought beyond words. It’s like hearing someone describe your childhood home with all its secret hideaways and quiet shaded places. Well done brother.
That was a cool comment. It made me smile. Thanks. 🤙🏽
This sums up what I've been feeling and experiencing but couldn't articulate. Thank you.
Amazing
My friend that is barely the beginning of the road. Keep going still, and the empty realm will reveal to you forms and structures of truth. You will be down on your knees crying tears of extreme joy.
Thank you.
Aloha. 🤙🏽
I appreciate your thoughtfulness in word choice and articulation of ideas. Very impactful, thank you 🙏🏼
A true Christian, mystic or not will have an understanding of Unity with the Divine hopefully.
So glad I found you. Thank you for this wonderful teaching. I feel most inspired. 🙏❤️

@@kefuwe__ u see him ? Lol
I would to stay in touch and exchange more on this path. God bless you.jeremy.ilunga@gmail.com

A quote from Meister Eckhart comes to mind "Theologians may quarrel, but the mystics of the world speak the same language." @@deeveevideos oh, hii! reread my comment and maybe the tone was a bit harsh? still mean it, just coulda said it better. these views just don't align with the Bible as a whole
anyway, faith is one's own. i would also say that faith comes from hearing of Jesus the Messiah, the real one described in the Bible, but yes, it is one's own decision to believe or not believe.
It’s very comforting to find this video. Thank you 🙏🏼 - It’s a blessing to see brothers and sisters here who know. ❤️🙏🏼
Thank you so much for this, this is great.
I am a student of ACIM, and follow the teachings of David Hoffmeister which has sparked an interest for me in Christian Mysticism recently, so I'm great appreciative for this course
So glad you found it, Sam! ACIM is a major path for a lot of us in the Contemplative Light community. Best to you!
Jesus is infinitely better. read of Him in the Bible
@@thando6109 I do, you can read of him in a course in miracle’s too!
A very excellent educational video on Christian Mysticism! It's thoughtful, well organized and accessible. You make sense of a subject that is often vague, obscure and hard to understand. Well done!
This is very helpful. I have come to understand the union of the godhead within and the inner transformation of my inner being. Not always have the ability to articulate this divine mystical seamless union of the divine that is within me. I tabernacle the godhead within me, my body being his temple and that the triune God is comfortable within human being. Thank you for defining this process of want it means to be a mystic, I will certainly watch this over and over again so that I can digest this beautiful union with the triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Excellent description.
I identify with all four categories.
The books of Eva Bell Werber have also helped illuminate my own path; I discovered her when I read Underhill's writing. Thanks for a terrific video.
Paz y luz.

Thank you for an amazing course!
Did you take the course? How was it?
Thanks for mentioning Richard Rohr. I'm familiar with Underhill, W James, et al. Rohr is new to me.
please stay away from rohr. he is not a Christian. he is a new age teacher. please be familiar with the Bible. carefully and without presuppositions. following God is so much better than these mystical ear-ticklers
Thank you 🙏🕊God bless!
Gloria in Excelsis Deo! 🙏
One question do you believe that Jesus is the son of god (human/created being) or god
Very interesting video, St John of the cross and other sources gives the impression of the dark night of the soul as an intense hunger for God. I am definitely an iconoclast, I've always been at odds with the spirit of the times.
Every word spoken was a moment of enlightenment to me thank you.
Wonderful explanation, thank you.
God bless you.
Christism..Can't imagine what you are thinking about this crazy place of the way the secularists have no idea of its wonders of the wonders of our holy trinity of father son and the holy spirit thus far we live in the scriptures and the family natives of our life and love ❤agape and Eros!!!I am who I am.
This is music to my ears❤❤❤❤
I became a mystic 3 yrs ago on my own through prayers fastings helping charity works and talking about my faith to others. No sex for 3 yrs. Mama Marie brought me here! I had very interesting experiences too. I saw my guardian angel. I consecrated myself fully
Contemplative Prayer begin with monastic monks experimenting with prayer practices they observed Buddhist and Hindus doing. Therefore, contemplative prayer is a pagan prayer practice. When one does what pagans do then one gets what pagans get. Pagans worship demons. 1 Timothy 4:1 is to be applied to Contemplative Prayer for it is the doctrine of demons. Anyone who is a Holy Spirit filled believer will be corrected and rescued from engaging in Contemplative Prayer. Anyone who defends it is spiritual deceived and undiscerning. Pray for Hebrews 5:14. -Blessings from Tajji in Tanzania (See videos by Ray Yungen: A Time of Departing....Excellent research on the truth about Contemplative Prayer.)
EXACTLY what I’ve been searching for
please search for God instead. preferably in the Bible. thanks
OMG. YOU always lead me to the right direction. Thanks YOU so much!!! ❤️🙏🏼😇😊😊😊😊😊
I’m a mystic and you’ve described me/this to a T. Never heard a Catholic describe it so well.
Thank you beautiful soul 😇
I am a Christian Scientist who reads Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy who at first did not want to found a church but found that she must form a church and fight the devil like a hell hound to preserve her baby.
Abstract is a great word for you to use as I feel I can accept that, but many cannot.
Thank you. Good and simple.
Thank you for a very informative video. Definitely one of the best I have watched.
This is so INSPIRING and I have repeatedly listened to it. Blessings

Excellent video. It seems New Age thought has been very influenced by these teachings. How come Christian Mysticism isn’t more popular?
or maybe... here's a WILD thought... these teachings are influenced BY new age thought
Im a Mystic. I have had Mystical experiences and meetings with God in many ways. Didnt know i was one thank you!
@SUNISINUS RACECAR It doesn't have to be that complicated.
I wouldn't be so quick to label yourself. The ego always wants a label to identify with. This is the illusory nature of the ego. Always clinging to identify with the false self.
Well explained.
Thanks for playing.
I needed this video @ this time!
🙏Thank You for sharing💖one point MUST be made and that lS That TRUE Spiritual Mystic WILL NEVER corrupt lTS Spiritual lntegrity🌠That would be lmpossible Since in That Realized s t a t e of Divine Consciousness There lS No opposite Nature to Divine🙏
This video is 100% ME, wow thank you.

This will ruffle some feathers no harm meant, but Jesus Christ was a mystic
Respectfully, Christ Jesus transcends "mysticism". ..:
Yes, we are a weird lot. An excellent explanation of the subject. I particularly like your definition of a mystic as someone who has had personal experience of that, which lies beyond.
I don't know a lot about Christian mystics but I know they exist and as it has been said; we speak the same language. I have found the Light in Darkness and yet, it's the same thing as with every other mystic. Few, however, will ever believe this. Oh well...
Thank you this was very good. and I never heard of Underhill will be reading
Appreciate this. Salute!
This is phenomenal. Thank you so much!!
I love you videos 🙏

Be sure to change your videos in advanced settings on each video to “educational” this will help
Done and done. Many thanks!
Excellent video. Very helpful. Thank you!
Thank you.
Not death of ego its learning to ride it not kill it or let it destroy us
Loved your straightforward video - I want to learn more :D
Thank you Joseph! There's a link to more in the description. Take a look at the free course. We're also putting together new videos now!
The Rosicrucians sound interesting. I heard something about them on History channel and looked them up. I'm definitely lacking in Spirituality and know I need it especially from past trauma that I need to heal from. I'm not big into Christianity I'm a baptized Catholic but this sort of thing sound more like what I'm interested in.
If you seek Jesus, you will find Him. He will show you how ordination, He also will bring you to your normal state of existence.....
The original Man in Eden who was in the image and glory of God.

Just because you don't lead a life of contemplation it doesn't mean you can't live a contemplative life.
Same thing happened to me when I was balding

St. Thomas Aquinas is interesting to read.

This is awesome! ❤❤❤❤
Wonderful video!
Thank you so much for sharing this excellent lecture! You are certainly one of the best! I can't wait to hear your talk about Mechthild of Magdeburg. Could you also add St. Gertrude on your list of Christian Mystics?
Love and peace,
We're looking into St. Gertrude!!! As you know, on this path, things take time :)
Jesus was the most radical mystic ever.
William Blake was a mystic that should be in the next video!
Please where can I find that medieval timeline? Thank you for sharing this great information
Great Q: we've added a link in the video notes and here as well: www.dropbox.com/s/ij1rpb1u3hf6fe9/Mystics%20Timeline.pdf?dl=0
Jason Segels old day job! ;)
Interesting video!
Please note: The death date for Meister Eckhart was not "1398" (shown at approximately 27:40 in this clip). If so, he would have been 138 years old.
