Lol Stephen Dorff basically said what everyone was thinking. 😅😅 With their PG13 ass reboot. At this point, we know what they want to do with that movie and turn it into some politically correct bullshit that incorporates certain lifestyles and modern ideologies. Blade (1998) was gritty and that's what made a lot of American movies great; especially Ed Norton's Incredible Hulk. You take away the grittiness and morality of a film there's no purpose even making it.

@dawb86 I'm glad someone mentioned Blade's original mentor. He was a jazz musician as well as a vampire hunter in the original comics. Snipes would be perfect for that role! They probably changed him to the Whistler character to appeal to a "wider audience." You know how that goes!
Blade 1 and 2 is what put marvel on the map. It saved marvel from closing it doors and it would be no marvel cemematic universe. It truly set the standard. But us blade fans do not discuss blade 3 or the blade series. Those are best forgotten.

Everyone knows that Blade franchise & character portrayed by Snipes. Spearheaded the comic movie hysteria/genre. I understand moving on from the past into the future. But Snipes mastered that character & the excuse of him being old doesn’t carry weight. Particularly when you have white actors still playing older roles. Such as Hugh Hackman and the Wolverine character etc. Wesley Snipes played Blade a hybrid vampire. So his age shouldn’t be an issue. Give him back that role with the proper director & producer.
It makes a lot of sense! An older Blade combatting a new generation of vampires, a little Logan-ish type of movie
But he is to old. The new blade series was intended to be 5 films over the extended decade and small parts in other marvel and shin off films. That’s why they wanted a younger bald actor a character. Snipes would have been way too old to be doing all that.

Blade & Blade 2 movies still hold up today. Although their CGI effects are a bit dated. Blade 3 we won't even talk about. But let's not forget that both Blade and Blade 2 had two of the best directors in the business who have both produced multiple hit movies. It will be hard for Marvel to replace them. I do think Ali is the best actor to replace Snipes but Snipes did have the martial arts background training. Regardless I don't fault Marvel for replacing the new directors and writers if it means they won't be f*** up that franchise.

The problem with this blade reboot is the same problem that the mad Max franchise is having. Without Wesley Snipes there is no blade and without Mel Gibson there is no mad Max. Mr Ali and Tom Hardy are good actors for sure but they can’t really replace the people who originated those roles. It’s the same problem that the James Bond franchise had many years ago. On her Majesty Secret Service made decent money, but people were not Vibing with George Lazenby like they were Sean Connery. They brought back Connery twice before Roger Moore finally came on the scene and took over the role. I really think people had to get comfortable with moore because Connery swore he would never come back to the role. Mr. Ali can keep his name attached to this woke nightmare, but he is going to suffer some serious setbacks in his career. Sometimes one movie can destroy the momentum of an entire career. Some may not remember that Cuba Gooding Junior was at this point after he won the Oscar, but he made some bad choices and now he is so irrelevant that it’s sad.

Thwy tried that with Black The Series with Sticky Fingas of Onyx playing Blade. It was an interesting take on how Blade Trinity ended with there still being vampires but they're spread out in hidden cabals. Didn't hit as well as the movies tho
