    I've always enjoyed using colored pencils together with watercolors!
    I just think about what medium I want to center the piece around and adjust accordingly.
    Watercolor provides a GREAT base for colored pencils so I can avoid the white spots and don't have to burnish (I love the pencil texture actually!) and colored pencils are super cute as lineart!
    Looking through my sketchbook right now and I seem to really like the combo lol
    It's everywhere!

    I love these kitties so much! They are adorable! And then the little multicoloured toe beans!
    Genuinely the only downside is that it means ace kitties are unlikely to happen. But really, I can't complain about that - the glorious pun and the beautiful piece are so good, I can't imagine anything better than this, so this piece is absolutely perfect!
    Re: watercolour pencils - a coloured pencil artist I follow also dislikes them because they are bad at being pencils, and they aren't as good at being watercolours as actual watercolours are. Prismas are apparently extra-soft pencils (compared to other coloured pencils), so if you try other brands, might be good to be prepared for them to be less smooth.

    • @InLiquidColor

    Hullo Denise, I have had creative slumps over my Art career, I have never been able to use art block to limit my production since if I did not work I did not eat! I made a whole bunch of not great art, but if the client was happy why did I care if it was crap? People want what they want and if they cannot make it themselves they will pay others to do so! I hope you continue to support the communities you have belief in. 💖❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💓I have enjoyed using different mediums over the years and going digital in 1998 was a big drawback for me. I have always used color pencils after breaking away from my initial watercolor painting “rules” and trying many kinds of mediums Watercolor is still my true love. I want to say thanks to you as you have been a primary influence on me and my paint choices since I found your videos. My palettes and painting kits are filled with DaVinci Paints! I have used just about every major brand and I can say that I have never been as happy with any other brand as I am with DaVinci. You are truly amazing so inspirational and truly a kind person, thank you. I am glad that your advent kits are selling so well I hope you consider creating enough next time to allow others as well as your Patreons to show their support for you and your Art journey. You might consider a sign-up or similar system for your next project. I am not sure how to judge these things, but I know that you can garner more support from people that would love to help you. I am aware the price might be out of some peoples reach, why not think about a trimmed down version? I am sending you health and happiness, please keep safe and be well.🥳🥳🎉

    Just love the hatching pattern you used for this and I love the colors. Regarding watercolor colored pencils, I encourage you to purchase some regardless. You can still use them dry, but if ever you want to do some touchups on a watercolor piece, you can use them in small applications and, if desired, use water to dissolve the pencil marks. I just finished a mixed media piece where I told myself I'm going to give myself permission to touch up with watercolor colored pencil instead of being a purist. The title of this really annoys me. I’m so sick of this being shoved down my throat. Are we also gonna celebrate heterosexuality because we seem to always be excluded I know that a lot is gone really badly but also a lot of great things have happened for the community. It seems like now no one is allowed to talk about their beliefs or the fact that they I had a sexual because then your phobic or you are some horrible person. It’s constantly pride this pride that rainbow flag that Rainbow community, this rainbow community that I don’t want understand what is so important about having to constantly talk about sexuality which is what this is. This is someone’s sexual preference. Celebrating someone’s identity is something completely different. My sexual preference might be heterosexuality but that’s not my personal identity.
    Apart from that, I love this artwork, the colours you’ve used the subject and the style and I love the other things that you talked about. You’re just being nice if there was somewhere to go with sexuality didn’t have to be spoken all the time I thought my art place was safe. Well, we don’t talk about religion or political agendas, and we just talk about the beauty of Art talking about animals and social justice. Is that relate to them that you talk about is fine that’s completely. Different.

    • @InLiquidColor
      @InLiquidColor  Год назад +5

      Let me get this straight. Did you just say that *I* took away your "safe" space. On my video. When I am queer, and you are disrespecting me and my entire community? Give me a time stamp where I talked about sex in this video. Explain to me how the made up word "lesbeans" when referring to cat toesies is shoving women having sex down your throat. Women loving women is not only about sex.
      You don't need heterosexuality day because you're not being oppressed. Every day is heterosexuality day. Every time you talk about your partner. Every time you talk about your nuclear family. You are never shamed for loving who you love. You don't need heterosexuality day because there haven't been HUNDREDS of bills proposed THIS YEAR ALONE trying taking away your rights as a human being.
      Did you notice how I call myself bi and queer instead of bisexual? It's because I have the ability to *love* people that do not identify as male... and honestly, to avoid having to talk to strangers like you on the internet who think that being attracted to and having the ability to love a variety of genders is some sexually deviant behavior. The LGBTQIA+ community is not only about sex. It IS about identity, and you telling us that we aren't allowed to be ourselves on *my* channel on a video celebrating joy and love is so unbelievably f***ed up.
      And the fact that you commented this and then went on to post on another video like you didn't just tell me I don't have the right to be me is beyond words. I'm not blocking you (yet) from this channel, because I want others to be able to see this reply. I have zero tolerance for this behavior in MY safe space.

      @@InLiquidColorFirstly, I want to deeply apologise for offending you. I have not deleted my comment because I think it’s fair that I should stand and be judged. I don’t think I made myself quite clear I was using auto speak because I can’t see very well. What I meant more by, my statement than anything else is why should people have to care so much and talk about it so much when it’s just normal? The rainbow community I’m sorry I don’t use the acronyms because I often forget one or get it wrong but it’s normal. I don’t see anyone who is by lesbian, gay, transgender, queer as being any different from me or my dad or my best friend or my auntie or Joe blow across the street when I was angry about well not angry. Just frustrated with is that we constantly have to have this in the media posters banners marches because people are so narrowminded and ignorant and stupid that they can’t just go. this is normal and then we don’t have to always bring it up because it is just an every day thing. I know this probably doesn’t make sense to you I can’t begin to imagine the pain that you’ve gone through and other people go through in the community. I do have a lot of friends in the community and they understand where I’m coming from, but I suppose that’s because they know me and I can explain it a little bit better with people that also you know me I really wasn’t trying to offend you or anyone else whether they’re in the community or not I’m very sorry I hope you will accept my apology and understand my thoughts are little better, but I’m always open to learning and understanding more
