Thanks for posting this video! The tram passing by the old U.S. Army Patton Barracks at approximately minute 34 brings back *intense* memories of my being stationed there from 1978 to 1981. It has been 40 years now since I left. There was no tram on 'Kirschheimerweg' then, and little did I ever guess by the time I left that there would be, someday. There were 3 bus lines into Heidelberg on this street back then, with a stop right outside of the barracks, on either side of the street. Bus 29, I think it was, was the one I most often rode. From what I can tell/research now, only one bus line still goes this way. As the tram passes the barracks, I see no evidence of the bus stop any longer. Sometimes as I waited for the bus, I would wish there were a tram line there instead. Little did I know or even suspect then that one would eventually come. But I am so glad to see this line *was* eventually added, even though I was not around to witness it. Were it not for the epidemic, I would have made every effort to make a trip over to Heidelberg this or next year to see---and ride---the tram firsthand. So much has changed since those days, and certainly in regards to this addition, for the better. My only questions are why a stop/station was not placed outside Patton Barracks when the line was built, and why only one track in that stretch of road?

Which country???
Germany, Heidelberg
Genau :D
? RNV (Mannheim) ADtranz MGT6 Straßenbahn? Vielen Dank.
