My cousin, when she was caring for her elderly mother, wryly said, "This isn't the trip I signed up for, but this is the one I'm on." I've thought of that a number of times when faced with similar issues and it's always made things a little easier for me.
I think it's great that you've chosen to take care of your father! Living alone can really take it's toll on the elderly. I hope he adapts well and you grow to love his company. Much love!

Make sure you contact your local and state elderly services as Medicare will pay up to 28 hr/week for a Personal Care Assistant aka PCA to help Dad with ADL~ Activities of Daily Living such as showering, dressing, toileting .... he will also get a Case Manager who can assist you in when to step in and assist ... all those questions you have, they have the answers.
Thanks so much for the information I hope others will find it. I am in France and while we have great healthcare it's long and tedious to get it going for a foreigner...
