Before I watch this video, me and my dad made plans to head up to leech for my birthday. We are leaving on the 3rd of October, and we're super pumped. And then, I was scrolling down my recommended, and I found this. Now get this, also before this video, I bought a white Medusa musky lure. I saw some other fishermen use this, and the musky love it. I'm 12, and I've never caught a muskie. Awesome fish, Sincerely Me from Brainerd Minnesota.
Slump is real here, last hook up was a giant on the full moon 30 min after moonrise and my buddies reel exploded during the battle . Fish got away and that caps my October so far. But it's still early and plenty of pounding to do yet.
If the wind is ever bad, kabekona Bay is a good little tucked away bay that's has spots out of the wind. No musky or walleye really but every other species is in there
Fall rock pattern- I've noticed they move shallow really fast. And also fall brings fast movement. These fish will travel and follow fish at high speed to stack on weight for winter.
All of the big fish I have seen caught out of Leech... were caught by someone wearing a Chicago Bears hat. Muskies seem to like orange and navy blue a little more than green and yellow out there this time of the year. Something to try next time. Good luck... and keep them coming!
Great video, autumn is a great time to catch quality fish. Hopefully you guys will be headed to St.Clair this fall, you guys really got on some real dandy's last year there.
If I make it through the weekend without a muskie, I will be on a two month slump. Including a month and a half without even getting a bite. However, I've discovered the key to muskies actively feeding. Go to work! Without fail when the fish are going crazy I'm at work. Sure, that doesn't do me any good, but maybe it'll help other anglers out.
There are alot of unknown spots on that lake that dont get fished alot, ive been fishing on that lake ever since i can remember and we go up there every summer. Let me know if you ever make it up there again ill let you know the hotspots for whatever fish you go for bud, gotta find the weeds man lol youll know what im talkin about
Whats super funny is alot of walleye anglers swear by finese fishing for walleye. But all of my over 70 cm walleyes were caught on huge baits. Spring ,summer and fall.
That IS funny. On another muskie video I saw one nail a very large orange jerkbait almost at surface level. I'm definitely up-sizing for walleyes next spring!
@@ibanez2010 i up sized for my walleye fishing for the spring summer and fall. My last walleye was 79 cm or 31 inches on a bigger than usual bait been doing it over and over again. I highly recomend it. You wont catch alot of wallys. But when you do it will be a beast.
Looks like you may need to come south Robbie and try a few lakes here in Indiana like Webster or the Barbee chain. Air temps are in the 50s still and winter hasn't showed up quite yet.
What I would give to only be 4 hrs from Leech!! Hope you get em!! Great video as always!! Also forgot to mention I know your pain to well. Was casting last Saturday and hooked what felt like a 54 inch muskie fought it for 5 minutes never saw it. Then it finally came up. Giant channel Cat. Probably 20 lbs. Hit a 9 inch Salmo perch jerkbait. I was crushed. Still cool tho
funny, in Europe its different breed of walleye and it has to be over 35 inches to be considered trophy, and you can catch over 40 inches.... we dont have muskies though
Got home from work, poured some Jameson's on the rocks, it's the weekend, and all my favorite RUclips fishermen are uploading new vids. Sweet.

Got back Tuesday from Leech....fished Sunday and Monday....had a few opportunities, but only boated one fish....given it was a 50in :)
👍
My biggest walleye was caught in northern Minnesota. 36-1/2 in walleye on a white spinnerbait! Alot of fun.
You sure gave it a good try. nice walleyes!
Did you throw any cranks? looks like you were basically using rubber.

Bummer.

We shot a vid in Kab bay
May the hunt continue Robbie. Don't give up!!! Caught myself a 42×22 on last week's full moon after more hours than I'd care to admit .....
When Leach is off or windy try Little Boy, Man Trap, Inguadona or Wabedo. All good for numbers and giants
Nick Forsell wow dude. U can’t just name lakes of like that in front of this many people.
I’m wanting to try musky fishing here in Tn this winter
I'll give it to you. not only a lot of hours but days.

ya guys need to hit cass lake
Agreed. Why does Cass not get mentioned for big muskies?? I saw two of the biggest muskies of my life in one outing on that lake.
Havent this year yet.
Nice Walleyes, Leech Lake is a great lake to find both species on. Better luck next time!
Keep the faith Heidi and Robbie. Nice walleyes.
