If you spin right before landing on a metal Arrow bounce crate, you will stand on it without bouncing. Can jump, slide jump, whatever else off of it. Really helps in situations where there is nitro above it, or you're going too fast and losing control. Especially helps on later Coco flashback levels with the bounce-counter-to-nitro special crates.

Jayden J Bryant just like in Crash 3 warped they added time trials. Besides the normal relics (sapphire, gold and platinum) this time they added developer time relic which is faster than platinum. Some of these times are insane
I don't think crash 4 is hard, I believe the reason we had such a tough time on It is because of the unfamiliar pysics. When I played twinsanity for the first time It was the same hard as crash 4. They both haveb quite different physics compared to the original formula.
I swear, I died 80+ times on Cortex Castle, but after a few times through it's easy and possibly my favourite level in the game (Toxic Tunnels gem vault had a similar experience!) So much fun to master
YESSSSSSS! I was WAITING for this! I died over 70 times on Cortex Castle, it's gonna be a huge pain in the ass getting all the crates and not dying more than 3 times in this dimension. Also love the Wombat reference in Toxic Tunnels
Surprisingly, I found Cortex Castle quite fun and easy. The Polar levels were the only ones I struggled with honestly.. Missing a box in these segments is just painful as U would need to repeat the whole level.
When you're wall running mate don't hold anything the control stick because Crash will do it for you. Crash basically runs automatically and all you have to do is time you're him jump

This game is such a gem, It's almost perfect, I love everything about it but I was kinda sad there's nothing about Nina Cortex in the game, I feel like she didn't have much time to shine, In 'Crash Twinsanity' she doesn't even talk, She was in tag team racing for a bit, Crash of the titans was her best appearance, Other than that.. The first 3 Crash games also had a marker to show where you were going to land, it was Crash's shadow projected straight down on the ground. The shadows in this game better reflect the surrounding lighting so they can no longer function as a marker. I think the problem people have with the yellow circle is that it just looks a bit more out of place than the shadows used in the previous games. Perhaps it would have been nice to be able to pick from various different ground markers, with one option being a soft black circle, or even an option to switch to the top-down unrealistic shadows from previous games.
Well I can say those fire lantern platforms did indeed surprised me too. Also I actually completed the final level variations both versions as well with all gems, flashback tape, and costumes. And surely enough I got used to the final level already except I have yet to do the platinum relic
Dude I gave up on the game during Food Run.Throughout the game I had probably died hundreds of times up to that point.. I died 70 times during the battle with N. Trophy’s alone, so my patience was well worn. It’s an absolutely fantastic game, but goddamn is it difficult! Much more so than the original trilogy. I can get through most of the levels in them without dying, but this I can only beat TWO levels without dying.
Looking back at this now 3 years later... Lewis will have to platinum these... Even if Cortex Castle is actually one of the easiest ones to do. Iirc I got a dev relic on it by pure accident... similarily to Caddy.
I am going to be having Crash Bandicoot 4 tomorrow and the game looks really difficult, I really wasn't excepting a harder game than the first Crash Bandicoot itself, I can't wait to play it.

I died over 200 times on that last part! Somehow cheesed it. Double Jumped straight through the laser with Aku and landed short of the ledge in mid air. I kept spamming X and crash got over.

Small amount of things to work with that lets me have an easier time adapting and or improvising. Crash 4 doesnt have that luxury unfortunately. I mean... if i had Speed Shoes instead of that dumb triple spin, then i would be able to improvise too, just it would take a longer time, given the level's length being unreasonably longer. To put in contrast, I JUST recently (2 days ago funnily enough) decided to finally get all platinum relics in Crash 4 Wrath Of Cortex. Why?! Well, as a kid and teen, i was unable to beat the game and get all platinum relics respectively. While my kid self was stuck at 79% of the game completion, my late teen self gave up on level Eskimo Roll for platinum relic but finally completing 106% of the game. I decided to finally get all platinum relics and now, i got them without breaking the sweat. Even 2 platforming levels i got platinum relic without speed shoes. "Weathering Heights" and "Gold Rush". I felt actually adapting to the game, which is something i cant do in Crash 4 its about time and the main issue is triple spin. So if i can adapt to wrath of cortex which i couldnt in the past and now i can easily, and i cant with Its about time, that in itself makes it even harder than stormy ascent, period. Hope that explains a bit.

For me, it's an aesthetic preference to have it off, I've had no issue judging my jumps without it and it doesn't look pretty on the eyes, so I prefer it off.
When watching the gameplay before released I didnt like the way it looked compared to the first 3, but after playing it, I would never turn it off as you'll need it 99.9% of the time. This game is hard!

Something about watching Lewis be so bad at the game is so entertaining.
He is not bad. This level is some of the hardest level ever made in normal games(not counting mario makers and other crazy indies).
Lewis is slightly below average with platformers. I've seen worse, but he's nowhere near being the best

yea 100/106%ing this game can take anywhere from 60 to 200 hours or even more depending on your skill level i guess.
