Thanks Mike! It happened in the blink of an eye. I am going to try polishing it some more with some toothpaste on it to hopefully smooth out those little dimples. Meanwhile, I contacted GoPro, and I'm curious what they might do... I keep you posted.
I almost clicked the ❤️ button, but I refrained. That sucks Jason! Have you contacted GoPro? They replaced this one for me, which is why there's not a part two to this video.
They told me that they would do a one time no questions asked sort of replacement. I think that I did it through email or chat, but they wanted pics of the numbers inside the Gopro. They only wanted the lens itself with no silicone case or anything else, and then they sent me a brand new one in the sealed package. They were really nice about it.

Sorry to hear about that Trevor. Before I got to try to further polish that lens, I contacted GoPro to see if they had replacement outer lenses available, and without really even entertaining the question of availability of replacement lenses, they sent me a brand new max mod lens, and all that I had to do was send the scratched one back. They did not want anything else that came with the lens including the case. But they sent me the entirety brand new in the box. Something you may want to check into. Hope it helps! Thanks for watching.
i have horrendus scratches on my gopro lens from a crash that broke through the protective glass and damaged the lense that is part of the gopro, i just ordered 400, 1200, 4,000, 14,000, 50,000, 100,000 and 200,000 grit diamond paste to try to fix it
Thanks for watching Henry. I hope that the diamond paste works for you. Was it expensive? I was still getting really bad spots on my footage when I was facing the sun. I contacted Gopro to ask if I could just get the glass part, and they actually sent me an entire new max mod lens. Their customer service is pretty good.
@@themostlymikeshow in total i payed about 100$ including new buffing wheels, and i bought really small tubes of compound. I am guessing the diamond paste will do a good job because they are designed for polishing glass and quartz
@@themostlymikeshow often when polishing stones for jewelry including diamonds they use diamond paste and work up to maybe 14,000 or 50,000 grit, so i assume the 200,000 grit will get a very clear finish perfect for optics
Thanks for watching! Has this catastrophe happened to any of you? Please drop me a comment below! It helps the channel out a LOT!
I have had nightmares of dropping my GoPro with that Max Lens Mod. I would have never thought of trying that. Nice work.

man you sarcasm is unmatched
Ha ha thanks! I try😁
I buffed mine and its blurry and yellow. Still don't know if it was broken before I got it though
Thanks for watching. If you call Gopro customer service, they are pretty nice and might just send you a new one for exchange. It's worth a try!
This was helpful, thank you.
Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed.
Great day 👍
Thanks for watching Hen713!
I'm on my second Max Lens Mod and now that one is scratched too. DOH

@@themostlymikeshow Wha? I guess I should look into seeing if they'll give me a replacement.

Thanks for watching and the helpful tip. I actually sent it back to GoPro and they replaced it.
I just lived through this yesterday!

Thanks for watching, and encouraging me to write more jokes, Dave! 😁 I try to add humor like that to all of my videos.

Yep! Thanks for watching!
