Castoria past When Artoria was born, the fairies didnt know what to do, one of the fairy villagers suggest that they should treat her like a livestock (as humans do). Other agree as they are also worried that when she grows up she might look down on them (because Artoria is a fairy of the paradise). Basically, they put her in a stable. Also they just call her Caster. Not even Artoria. When she grows up and was playing with her staff Oberon-Vortigern talks to her through the staff, that the fairies in this town digusts him-no, everything in this Britain is dsigusting. And later, he teaches Artoria magic, with telepathy. He actually don't use magic but because Artoria said, 'it might be good if she could make fire because the stable she lives in is very cold at winter', oberon decides to learn how to use magic and later teaches those magics back. So, a cycle of - Artoria says she wants to learn magic>Oberon tells her to wait some days>he learns them>teaches Artoria back. That is why most magic Artoria knows are really eccentric, like, picking locks. And this lasted only for about one year. She meets Ector, blacksmith old man who lives on top of the hills. They didn't get along quite well at the start. Ector tells her not to come back but she comes back anyway. They later warm up to each other, the old man even says that Artoria can take what ever she wants from the shop but she refuses as anything precious she has will be taken by the fairies. This is where she met Gawain, aka Barghest for the first time. Gawain visited the old man for weapons and something she says angers Artoria and Artoria shouts back at her. Gawain didn't even suspect that Artoria was the child of prophecy. And Ector was the one who told Artoria, Gawain's true name. That why Barghest doesn't remember Artoria because they only meet for like once. The villagers tells Artoria to kill Ector. To prove that she is the child of prophecy and because the fairies are scared of the old man. Ector is someone who makes weapons for the queen's army and the fairy villagers are scared because they support the child of prophecy (aka COP faction) But the truth is, ector doesn't even care about COP nor the queen. Artoria knows that the fairies aren't lying that they are scared because of her fairy eyes. Being scared of getting killed if she doesn't do as told, Artoria set out to the house on the hill, holding the knife given by the villagers. The old man sleeping doesn't wake up as he has impaired hearing. But she didn't kill him. Artoria then returns to the village, hoping the fairies won't notice. But one of the fairies, who called herself 'a friend' tells the truth, that Artoria didn't kill ector. Village fairies get very mad and starts calling her a fake, that they knew something was off and that they will send her to Woodwose. (Note that the fairy villagers were very happy when they first found her because the possibility of getting rich by using her was also part of the reasons) And then fairies put her in jail. The village splits into COP faction and Queen faction. But no one would come to rescue her. After about three days , she starts hearing battle sounds outside. Then Ector comes to her, bloodied, and frees her from the jail. And tells her to run to the forest. When they got out from the underground jail, the village was already burning. Artoria tries to save the village but it's too late now. Ector is surprised that she wants to save the fairies despite being treated horribly by them. He drags her out of the village and run towards the forest. Ector is at his limits and give his last words to her, that she doesn't get dirtied by the surrounding fairies(like humans are to Mash) and that she is the child of prophecy no matter what everyone else says. Tells her to do whatever she wants from now on and then collapse. Artoria first visited Salisbury, hoping to ring the bell but was turned away at the door by human knights. The knights told her that they doesn't need something like the COP because they have Aurora-sama. She then went to Glucoastor and met with Knocknarea. She then comes to the nameless forest, hoping to forget everything but, she doesn't, as she is a fairy of the paradise. When Ritsuka called out 'Mash', she pretended to lose her memories and decided to impersonate as Mash, hoping that they can be friends. There is a scene near the end where she asked Ritsuka what is the most enjoyable moment in our journey in Britain. You got 3 choices. 1) The revelation of the Child of Prophecy in Salisbury 2) The incident at the Dracae river. 3) That thing you shouldn't have made in Edinburgh. Then you ask her the same, and she says that the happiest moment for her was 14 days after you met, in the forest of Wales. It was her third handshake with you, and the time at which you told her "I want to help the Child of Prophecy too". And so, she wants you to accept this. Your fourth, and final, handshake. You're closing in on Cernunnos so you run off to get seated. As you do, Artoria muses that the truly happiest moment was the 11th day, in Gloucester. It might not have been special to you, but for the first time in her life, she could walk down the street with someone she loved. Castoria: But what I really enjoyed was Gloucester on the day 11th. It might have been a normal event for you. "But for the first time in my life, with the person I like, we walked down the main street."
Castoria updated profile after clearing LB6: Default] The "Child of Prophecy" that saves the Fairy Nation. A special fairy that was dispatched from the inland sea of the star... from Avalon to the surface along with the "Staff of Selection". After drifting into the Lake District, she was placed on a boat along with many treasures by the decision of the Chief of the Mirror Clan, eventually reaching the coast of Tintagel and being raised as a fairy of Tintagel from then on. In the Lostbelt, she is the same being as the "someone" who was eventually burdened with the holy sword in Pan-Human History. Also, an "accumulation device" sent to collect information on the surface, in order to produce the holy sword - a decisive weapon against the "threat to the star". [Bond 1] Height/Weight: 154cm・42kg Source: Fate/Grand Order Region: Inland Sea of the Star, Tintagel of the Sea Roar Alignment: Neutral Good Gender: Female Since she is not a fairy originated from the Fairy Nation Britain, the fairies from Britain have an instinctive antipathy against her. Conversely, for fairies who hate all fairies from Britain, fairies not born in the Six Clans and fairies who hate themselves to begin with, the "fairy of paradise" is a source of solace. [Bond 2] A splendidly pure and energetic girl. A sore loser who is strong in face of adversity (she stands up even if something unpleasant happens). She hides her true feelings without telling anyone due to taking the surrounding mood into consideration - just like any ordinary young girl. Spending her time doing nothing but studying magecraft, she is a practical researcher who runs around the fields just like a young boy. The protagonist of the story who lives up to the expectations of the surrounding people and departs on a journey to save Britain as the "Child of Prophecy". ...that is her outwards personality・disposition. The Artoria from Pan-Human History had an open-ended personality, but the Artoria from the Lostbelt is not that strong. In the inside, she is a pessimist with extremely frail and timid disposition. In her heart, she lets out a sigh while thinking that both herself as a "Child of Prophecy" and the surrounding people that self-destruct as they place their expectations on such a thing are foolish. (It is not like she has burned out or is looking down on them. She is merely feeling heavy.) [Bond 3] Still, since she is mindful about the surrounding mood, Artoria does not reveal those inner aspects of herself and instead ends up keeping up with the appearances by saying "ok, leave it to me!" and behaving exactly as the surroundings expect. All because she doesn't want to have a quarrel with anyone, doesn't want to hate anyone. A hard-working commoner who is bad at the essentials, makes a lot of blunders and stumbles all over her path. Her only merit is the fact she is quick to get up after a fall. As such, her stock phrase is "sorry for being weak. I will work hard, I will work hard". Her inner monologue at times like these is something like "I'm scared of fighting. Mutual hate is tiresome. I'm much happier living normally." Although she is constantly "finding faults in herself" in this manner, one can say that the very fact that her personality - which "worries about the surroundings, without falling to evil nor forgetting about decorum" - does not waver no matter what sort of harsh circumstances・cruel treatment she faces serve as proof that she is an aristocrat. The definite difference between her and Oberon is that one point. [Bond 4] During the journey of pilgrimage, while the motivation of the fake Child of Prophecy was "I'm scared, but I'll work hard because I want to help everyone", the motivation of the true Child of Prophecy was "I'm scared, but saying such a thing would make everyone disappointed, so I have no choice but to work hard". She kept hiding a negative mental state in which "everyone is scary, society is disgusting and I can't keep my motivation up even if you tell me to save the world. But since going against the surroundings is also unpleasant, I'll work hard as a saviour". Although that ended up becoming "a noble deed in the eyes of others", "the same way of being as King Arthur", Artoria Caster's inner aspects are awfully abject, pessimistic and negative. As such, she is always finding faults in herself. "I was able to persevere this time, but most likely, next time, I will probably end up giving up on everything..." If the Fairy Kingdom is a fairy-tale pictured by Morgan, the journey of pilgrimage is a fairy-tale describing Artoria's growth. Despite appearing to fill the same role as Dorothy - the protagonist of "Wizard of Oz" - she actually possesses a weakness akin to an aggregation of the scarecrow that can't walk properly (can't see his own feet, has no wits), the woodcutter with a hollow heart and the lion that don't want to display courage. Why was this Artoria able to remain as the "Child of Prophecy" to the very end? What was she fighting for? That answer becomes the end of her story. [Bond 5] Charisma of Hope: B Having been raised and departed on a journey as the Child of Prophecy, Artoria is endowed with the charisma to make people place their hopes and rely on her. Fairy of Avalon: A A power concealed under the name "Protection of the Lake". The power possessed by a fairy of paradise to bless life and protect the target's strength of fate from all sorts of corruption. Holy Sword Creation: A A power concealed under the name "Sword of Selection". Once this power has truly awoken, everything that she creates will end up gaining the "sword"-attribute. Fairy Eyes: A Not the mystic eyes that people possess, but the field of vision that "switches over the world", which fairies are endowed with from birth. The fairy eyes possessed by high ranking fairies are described as eyes capable of seeing through all lies and projecting the truth. Since good will and ill will are both lumped together by fairies, this is a mostly meaningless supernatural power as far as they are concerned. Still, nothing good will come out from a human that feels perplexed by the differences between good and evil possessing these eyes. Because of these eyes, Artoria Caster could see all the lies and true intentions of people. This is why, as far as she is concerned, the human world is a "storm of ill will" and both fairies and humans felt equally "scary, disgusting". The only thing she saw in her dreams while sleeping was this "storm of ill will". Originally, it wouldn't be surprising if this condition made her go mad and caused her to forsake Britain. Still, the only thing that served as a source of hope for her was a small "blue star" that shined all by itself beyond the storm. [Extra] NOBLE PHANTASM Round of Avalon - Promised Stars that Assemble in a Perfect Circle Rank: A++ Type: Anti-Army Range: 1~999 Maximum Targets: All allies The Noble Phantasm of Artoria after she became the "Guardian of Britain". Manifesting the Camelot of Twilight and bestowing the gift of a "Knight of the Round Table" to those who fight together with her. (In game, its effects are the same as Around Caliburn) Artoria Caster fulfilled her duties in the Fairy Nation and vanished. Afterwards, having consecrated her body to the holy sword and turned into the holy sword itself, she became an anthropic principle auxiliary device that aids "those who oppose a threat that endangers the star". Its name is Artoria Avalon. Her appearance in the Third Ascension is actually the proper figure of the one summoned here. What we see in the First and Second Ascension is but an emulation of the way of being of a "departed someone", which created her... not the memories as a fairy of paradise, but the memories of spring from when she travelled as a Child of Prophecy.
She is so young and innocent, she reminds me from Saber Lily. Her final Ascension is more mature, though, but still younger and less impacted by her time as a king than her adult versions
She's a better arthoria in my opinion they didn't have to make her a lily(immature and naive) for her to have/show emotions and be cute. People says they like arthoria I didn't get why at first but if Castoria is arthoria(saber) that's more human and expressive then I can understand why, but I still think seiba is overrated though.
@@Succubus_L0li Most people who say they like Og Artoria have seen/read stay night and maybe hollow where all her story is. And og Artoria is pretty cute and expressive too when she's able to come out of her shell
@@Succubus_L0li her profile literally says this Artoria is way immature and weaker in personality, she's also not half as brilliant as proper history Artoria. So You are contradicting that her cute side didn’t slip because they didn’t make Artoria more immature, naive insecure here. But that's what her character development was about, that's why two ascensions here are so different You probably never bothered playing the long VNs Artoria have. like literally all her expressions are taken from VN Artoria. Wtf you are smoking? Dont shitpost if you dont know nothing about Artoria. Artoria was strong but cute still is. Nasu isnt making new things up other than how LB Artoria was misguided and got proper guidance through the star she see. He's basically giving FGO fans chance to see true charm of Artoria in main role, she had none in FGO before.
"...Goodbye, an ordinary girl who greatly resembles me." -From Ritsuka Fujimaru to his Best Friend Castoria. While it's sad that Castoria died just like anybody close to Ritsuka in the Main Story at least this Artoria Copy (Artoria Avalon) can have more happy moments with Ritsuka than just their walk in Gloucester so I'm happy that they went on a Picnic (4th Ascension Line) and on a Date (Birthday Line) to make more happy moments between the two of them
I guess you could say that Oberon-Vortigern was doing everyone a favor by destroying Fairy Britain. Sure he might be a monstrous villain but he can be seen as a hero as well.
@@akatskipain1975 Somehow that makes me think that Vorti just pulled all of the LBKs in a room a d proceeded to "dance on them" while still calling them losers.
In a just world we would have taken the Wales Forest fae with us, but Barghest wiped them out for Morgan. Ironic, the one who sought to save fae, slaughtered fae worth saving.
Thank you Oberon/Vortigern for teaching our precious cinnamon roll how to use magic and help her survive. No matter how evil you are, we’ll always be thankful.
At first I was wondering why Guda beats themselves up so much when a servant dies. Yeah it's sad, but you can always summon them to chaldea later. Then we got the sparrow inn event, and Jing Ke was missing her memories of Lostbelt 3 and the things she did to help us. I realized that because of the way the throne works, even if they remember you with perfect clarity, that doesn't mean they retain everything that they were. At the very least, every time they die they're still losing a piece of themselves. This includes Castoria. They're still making a sacrifice.
@@reiiz9942 Nope, LB3 Jing Ke is Chaldea's. It specifically mentions it. And when she's partying with the other servants at beni enmas inn it specifically mentions that when she was resummoned she retained her memories except for lb3
For the Castoria case, it's worse because in LB6, Castoria is a real person in that history, not a servant whom we summon to help us. So when she died there, it really means her death in this history. This is why LB6 servants remember what happened in the LB because it is their history.
Honestly the real problem wasn’t Fae Britain itself, but the fact it was a Lostbelt created to reflect Beryls personality. A world built on the mind of a psycho didn’t even survive when he got there. Ah the irony. He stabbed Wodime for trying to make everyone into better people because he didn’t want to be saved, and Morgan was doomed to fail because of those who did not want to be saved.
That bastard is a man who doesn’t have anyone he want to protect, nor have anyone that he consider dear to him, and I can definitely none of these in the hearts of the fairies.
Wodime died a hero with people praising his name, successor (us) who carry his mission, and friend who fight through hell and high water to avenge him. Beryl died scorned. A failure who died alone with no one beside him. His evil and name shall be buried. The object of his affection rejected every fiber of his being. One died a man and another an animal.
Honestly, I approved this ship. I mean, they been through a lot and her love for him it's not that obsess or "suddenly fall in love" situation but the feelings was builded during their journey. I think this version of Artoria is suited for Ritsuka and I accepted that this is canon love-relationship.

There's seemingly an odd pattern from lorewise speaking. You have Ereshkigal (Rin-face) who fell in love with MC in Babylonia. She was being too damn adorable about it. Then you have Melt (Sakura-face) in SERAPH. She sacrificed herself as to give a second chance with Guda. Now you have Castoria (Saber-face).. Nasu completed the FSN routes here... Damn bro.
Don't forget Circe in Salem. When she was alone with Fujimaru in Prison she gives him an Code. And say that someday she would keep him just for her Alone, because Fujimaru was already steals something important in her ( her heart ) And ended up gets interupted by Robin

I am very excited for lostbelt 6 coming to NA. I like Castoria’s character and personality. Compared to OG they may have different problems but they find their answers in the end. Nasu made a great story out of this lostbelt. I may cry at the end when bidding farewell to a friend that has gone through so much hardship. God dammit, Shirou I need some food to help soothe my depression, bring the artorias as well they can join in as well.
"Legend tells that when the Lady of the Lake imparted the Holy Sword of Swords unto the knight, the world was lit with brilliance. Not that of the golden blade...but the brilliance of she who would later be revered as the King of Knights. Neither stars nor sunrises did justice to describe the look in her eyes and the stoic but gentle lips that graced her visage." "Truly, at that moment, the lily wilted and the princess died. From her ashes, a king rose. The Savior of Britain had been borne." I'm glad Artoria, the savior of Britian is amazing in both Proper Human History and Lostbelt despite all the hardship and negativity surrounding them. She keeps moving forward no matter the timeline.
Castoria was a blessing in disguise for me since my first day in FGO JP This girl carried me from Orleans all the way to Lostbelt 5 and a half I do plan on letting her reach Bond Level 15 someday
> OG is emotionless >she shows more emotions than OG > Castoria actually reuses OG's expressions from VN yeah dont throw shits like that if you never even bothered reading things about OG.
Show me when did og Artoria was this crytal Clear in emotions back when she was king or in zero or half of fate route. As if all those expressions you talk about weren't the ones that she uses in the SoL moments in fsn or ha that are already implied to be a first time for her and totally not something she barely ever did in life to the point of people easily labeling her as "emotionless" or an "inhuman monster" by Lancelot's words in GoA. And if we go by just expressions and physique then Shirou shows more expressions in his body and face but that doesn't mean he is emotionally intelligent as if he wasn't just as clueless as Saber when it comes to making his own feelings clear. Cuz the whole point of Artoria in her past revolves around the idea of "nobody understanding her even if she takes good decisions" while Castoria revolves in "everyone undertands her, even if she is taking the wrong decision". Good job narrowing my comment to just "expressions" tho, if I meant just that I wouldn't have bothered to make this comment to begin with, and 14 people wouldn't have agree with me either. You have been already called out a couple of times in that one comment of yours for twisting the things that happens in LB6, but here you are engaging with the people that "didn't understand Castoria's character" for no reason at all. Then what are you going to do with the rest of peoplenwith similar opinions like mine? Go and call them dumb cuz they find Castoria a more apepaling character than Artoria? Say they didn't understand Artoria cuz they didn't like her? Are you gonna take serious this comment section full of people fighting for wether or not Castoria is in love with Fujimaru? Yes, Castoria is more expressive than what Artoria ever was, at least she didn't have to go throught a chatacter development with the worst version of a mc that even Nasu comes to regret how portrayed to being able to be in symphony with her own feelings, even with her own waverings and fears.
@@juneriders2872 I believe you failed to understand og Artoria's character and why she acts like that. Go read Garden of Avalon. Artoria is emotionless and stiff for *no reason* ? Read Garden of Avalon if you think its for no reason. Also, have you read Hollow Ataraxia? She shows lots of emotions here alongside other servants and finally lives like a normal girl in emiya household.
@Im Tired Oh yeah, because she was taught to, cuz that's what the kingdom needed, cuz being perfect was what the people wanted, cuz emotions are a distraction and whatever. At the end it doesn't matter when even Merlin aka "inhuman incubus" saw her reasoning as flawrd and even Shirou saw it as something that wasn't needed in the slightest and only contributed to Saber suffering in live without needing. And if we go even more meta, she never had any need to do these kind of sacrifices or hide her emotions to the point of becoming robotic, cuz at the end the world just needed a King Arthur, someone to call King Arthur. It was never needed for her to do these things, she just thought that was the right thing to do, and at the end it didn't matter cuz the Kingdom was fated to fall anyway. If the natural conclusion of her character was that being emotionless was a mistake and not something to be proud of or being applauded, but something that she shoukd have changed back than and that she definitely needs to change now that she has the opportunity, then her being emotionless back then is a mistake that has to be fixed within her. And that's what she did, ofc, when everything already happened. And, once again, don't play dumb, Saber's expressions and behavior in HA is just a sequel to her development back in fsn, are you gonna tell me that early fate route Saber would behave the same? the one that didn't xare about herself? The kne that was oblivious to her feelings and everyone's? It goes without saying that she never had said behavior back in Camelot.
@@ReaperBlaze76 because that's how humans are, flawed there's good sides and bad sides. Captain America is seen as this almost flawless hero, unwavering, righteous, he's all about truth, justice and all that he's a big blue boy scout like Superman (not counting the other dark versions). Not exactly Gilgamesh Artoria Avalon is her giving up of her "childish self" and accept becoming Guardian for the planet/Britain. Let the translation come there is a big monologue of her choosing to become Guardian.
@@akatskipain1975 Gilgamesh, aka summoning the Heroic Spirit version based on themselves using themselves as catalyst. Artoria Avalon is not Castoria, who returned to Reverse Side. @@akatskipain1975 Yes, as Servant is merely one ascept of original person. Castoria went to Reverse Side with shadow of Paradise. Her wish to protect the world materialised as Servant. That's what Artoria Avalon herself says.
Okay unpopular opinion right here but like Gudao and Castoria fit kinda nicely with each other. Not gonna downplay mash but I really likeed their chemistry during lb6.
It's funny how you say they kinda fit each other nicely when the two of them say during the story how similar they are. I think Castoria said near the end of the 1st part of LB6 "Fujimaru is just like me" while Ritsuka said in near the end of LB6 "...Goodbye, an ordinary girl who greatly resembles me."
Yeah Nasu reused Shirou Saber's logic " you are just like me" here well because She's Lostbelt Saber afterall. but atleast it was a beautiful friendship ( can see people shipping, not gonna stop anyone)
Funny enough I found something too while I did some digging At one of her final moments with Ritsuka she quitely says to herself "But what I really enjoyed was Gloucester on the 11th day. It might have been a normal event for you but for the first time in my life, I walked down the main street with the person I love" Now I went to Shin-Iti's stream, screenshot that dialog and that is what Castoria exactly said. It said "好きなヒト と". And "好き" according to JMdict dictionary means 'in love', 'love' or 'romantically interested' but it can also mean 'like' or 'favorite'. Also did a search on Google too and it said it is most commonly used for "love" (I want to link the source but for some reason everytime I do, RUclips deletes my comment. It's on a website called linguee) On top of that my Japanese is very rusty. And if I've made any mistakes and anyone wants to correct me then please do

Castoria and Guda has much more chemistry than Mash and Guda The latter feels honestly like an....authentic kouhai and senpai experience with the kouhai later on taking on the role of the senpai and such
I won't. Mash is extremely boring, the main characters in these games are always suppose to be the players so they being interesting is an extra but for example, I love the main heroines in Priconne since I feel they have such a nice personality something Mash lacks but other servants have.
@@Merotryz Thats the problem, because the whole Idea of Mash as a chracter its a person who literally had no emotions, no character, nothing, because she was a girls who spend most on a room insolated, but in the journey she's learning anything from the world, love, hate envy, sadness, hapiness etc, You are seen your kohai grown before your ayes. I sugest to open your heart to Mash, you are teaching the girl to be a normal human girl :)
Basically Saber but better written and more interesting than the original. First time in my live I can actually say I like "Artoria" and thank god is not that boring saber version. Incredibly how the best Artoria ever is the one that literally rejected how the original Artoria acted and thought.
"the one that literally rejected how the original Artoria acted and thought." Bruh, that's just early Castoria, she ends up following a similar path by the end, lol.
@yandex1 with a way more satisfying process and in a less robotical way, right? Crazy how Castoria arrives at that conclusion in a better way that Artoria ever did (and Artoria herself is criticized in her own storyline for this)
that was probably initial plan Castoria's bond CE says "So you will have arrived " Not a single thing is different, not a single thing is same" etc then "One day Future King will be brought back One day she will arrive when true tomorrow comes" Future King is Proper History Artoria But it didn’t happen in LB6 at all. What's up with this CE?
I'm kinda glad it the story does not go that way, it helps to demonstrate how powerful said version of Castoria (Artoria Avalon) is against Oberon ● Vortigern. I know Mash is also there, but I'd like to imagine it won't make such big difference of how the outcome of the last confrontation would be like.
her ending development is literally coming to OG Artoria 's path that is to become Guardian, Savior of Britian. Even at the ending segment they get directly compared. When she rejects her there's a star that keeps trying to tell her to stay her path, it was her guide. you can like your Artoria but if you think that way then you’re interpreting her character wrong. The story tells rejecting OG Artoria was a misguided choice she made just because faes surrounding her were irredeemable. The star she sees was her guide for that.

wow man, came here for Castoria love since she's the most well done Artoria since OG Artoria from other TM Novels and directly makes us understand why OG went with so much sufferings for humans yet stayed sturdy in her resolve of working hard for better Future. then found shipping war, secondaries writing bull, and pity attempt of defaming OG Artoria's character and personality despite very obviously not knowing about her(or not being able to comprehend her) while also misinterpreting Castoria's character arc. I'd heavily recommend you to read her last monologue before infesting threads with out of character nonsenses. Firstly lets assume Castoria likes Ritsuka romantically, so what? Story doesn’t have them doing anything outrageous rather we saw their friendship. I dont think Shiroufans should be mad because not only Shirou have his Artoria, but also not even all Sabers are in romantically love with Shirou. We have UBW HF route for a reason. So Ritsuka being important to another Artoria, albeit from Lostbelt isnt too big of a deal. Then again we see them interacting as close friends, they aren’t inserting romance in story to ruin anything. So both side should stop fighting over cartoon ships. Secondly, In this Lostbelt Nasu successfully showed why Artoria will always be "savior" no matter the timeline, even if it means everyone else to hate her from that world. Castoria started with different origin (not Human- Dragon hybrid but a Fae Artoria who got Dragon heart later) , had even more doubts and insecurity inside than OG Artoria (OG had plenty herself) , was cowardly and negative inside because Faeies and Humans around her were not worth saving in this Britian which she saw with her fairy eyes. Yet with Chaldea and seeing OG's legacy in Proper Human History (which is the reason LB Percival, Gareth even exists here because they were United under OG Artoria in Pan Human History becoming savior Knights for their time and was manifested here because of FATE), she got the chance to determine her path despite having no purpose herself at a point, then when she tries to reject that PHH outcome from of own negativity - a bright star guided her forward. Rejecting that OG was never portrayed as a positive point for her in the story rather misguided from not being able to understand why OG did what, Castoria not being able to comprehend tiny bit of goodness in human heart was not applauded in story untill the end where she does comprehend . So Artoria despite all the negative surrounding was able to overcome everything and become a savior thanks to what happened in the story and the fairy called "hope" who saved her smiled no matter what happened. Like how OG Artoria prioritized smile of others as fuel for her struggle, Castoria did same at the end. that's how she overcome all the storm that is darkness within human mind. This is the reason at the end of the day, OG and Caster's have messages " I can never stay away from the path" " I'll chase future for tiny bit of hope out of getting something, I dont need everything ". This Lostbelt hammers hard why Artoria will be savior no matter the timeline, however no other Artoria can reach OG Artoria's legacy as its what led the correct choice of human history therefore was made part of PHH. Nasu didn’t make anyone look worse here. He made us understand why Artoria decided to draw her sword of selection with her oath, which in uncannily similar to Artoria Avalon rejecting her " childish me" in her monologue. After the chapter you’d understand why Artoria works so hard to begin with declining own happiness. So anyone with anyother misconception probably didn’t bother reading the full chapter because lets be real complete Translation isnt that easy to get right now. They saw part of it and made headcanons on their own, doesn’t help a lot people never bothered reading VN because no localization. Or badly misinterpreting Nasu's message. As a long term fan of King Arthur in fate, I liked how Nasu made Artoria the savior spirit no matter the timeline while also cementing only OG's brilliance lead us to correct course of history, let humans move forward hence OG Artoria is a King for human. He literally made Castoria say even she can not reach her Ideal self that is PHH Artoria. There can be a lot Lostbelt made by Alien God's fantasy tree, but none of them can produce a better King Arthur for human history than what PHH King Arthur did by taking all the burdens and moving forward with them Fate always hold people who struggle for future highly. You can notice this being case for other LB exclusive characters who were portrayed as misguided such as Arjuna Alter, QSH, Ivan etc. I dont care about what version of Artoria you like. You can even love MHXX or Ecchan more, they all are lovely. But dont act like misguided in Nasuverse who only watched fate anime and make bullshits that Nasu himself debunked hard in this LB. Lore wise he's done a great job show casing PHH Human Artoria and LB Fairy Artoria's brilliance simultaneously, connecting them as much he could (he reused all Saber's life trope in Castoria because that's Artoria's fate no matter the timeline). Now I'm looking forward to "Future King's return " that is hinted on Castoria bond CE, which very obviously PHH Artoria. Now that we have relationship, albeit close friend type relationship with a King Arthur's alternative possibility, we can interact with King Arthur a lot more understandably. Nasu also heavily hinted we might go back to Fuyuki and Cu Chulainn said King Arthur's legend is still stuck in Fuyuki possibly along with Olga Marie.Chaldea also got Holy sword essence. so there are hints very obviously even if these don’t come true at the end of fgo
It's sad that a lot of people here are fighting and also missing the point of the story and character's. This story definitely made want Castoria in the future though.
"they aren’t inserting romance in story to ruin anything" There were romance in the story, try to read it next time and pay attention. Also romance can't "ruin" anything unless you're rabid Shirou fan who are being angry on Artoria liking anyone but Shirou. When even Summer Artoria (Archer) and Maid Artoria (Alter) prefer Gudao over Shirou lmao. You know, solely because of bullshit that Shiroufans doing there I am happy that Fate route would never get proper anime adaptation.
Ha, knew it. Welp bye bye Muramasa x Castoria ship. New Waifu, getto! Edit: Called it, the like would be gone if I said that, kek Edit 2: Aaand it returned! Hurrayy! 🥳 Edit 3: Mundus, you trolling me here bro! 😭
man, finding this today and having castoria makes me wants to bulldoze through the singularities and missing waistbands, but I really-really want to clap lion king ass with shirou faces with angry mango as the only one I still didn't have(Amakusa don't count 💀). I don't know why I have this obsession but I just want to do it, lmao.
Everyone in the comments is arguing about the Castoria x Guda ship but after watching this video she doesn't say anything about romance? I know she is in love with Guda after reading what happens in LB6, but am i just too stupid to understand what these new bond 5 lines are implying? someone care to explain?
OG Artoria is lame Idealist only in Fate/Zero canon which isnt canon for any of her lore in Fate.Hence get treated as separate canon of fate zero. She is a figure who used to sacrifice 1 entire village to save 10 more for a reason.
@@akatskipain1975 I literally hate zero man, why you all saber stans always assume this kind of things. Even taking out zero out of the equation she still is a lame idealist, if you think she isn't then you should read the vn again and focus on the last days of her route. Yes, I played the vn, yes, I saw Garden of Avalon. She is an idealist still, maybe one as bad as Fate route Shirou. Even she herself accepts how much she blinded herself in her own ideals while missing her real wishes in life. Also, "Zero is not canon with the rest of her lore" sure buddy if that makes you feel better. I bet you are the kind of people that twist Nasu's quote in that one interview when he said that Zero was a parallel timeline of the "4th grail war" that fsn talks about.
@@kolk5994 I'm just saying canonically Saber was pragmatic, not lame idealist who clings to their ideal without taking pragmatic route. Google You'll find answer. Except the fate route literally isnt about making her idealist like Shirou? She even roasted him for this very reason. The route is written to make her accept she did her duty excellently and people were just too bad surrounding her. Literally tells she might dream big and be idealist but she was at the same time pragmatic about it. She was more or less a pragmatic idealist. hence left the legacy as shinning star of Britian ? She was not idealist to extreme when she lived alot her fixation comes after seeing people suffering eventually self destructing under her rule, she thought she Should be blamed thus should shoulder responsibility to give better ending to them. Fate route never tried to say Saber did anything wrong while she was King. the only reason Shirou pursued her is so that she would give up on her grail wish, acknowledge she was not at fault, would not become Guardian heroic spirit as its not a pleasant way to live( Emiya archer shows why) . It lets her to remember who she truly was and lets her accept being "future king" you even have Avalon scene for this purpose of sering her agan besides a reunion. Guess what Castoria picks that ending. she became Guardian, the worse fate Saber could have had if not for F/SN. being that sort of idealist was the correct choice for King Arthur even in this Lostbelt that's the case. Because of that King Arthur, Britain was saved and left a legacy which later shaped the land as it is (in Nasuverse) Since there's no such King Arthur here supposed to born here, this Lostbelt is beyond salvage, dont kid yourself if you read the LB you are supposed to know this. Castoria was made to be Artoria of this LB for a reason. > Zero being non canon is now me twisting my opinion Zero explicitly contradicts with several information with Saber's lore such as forgetting her pragmatic side, never fighting Gilgamesh or using her sword against him to refuse his bridal proposal like she tells in F/SN, Zero making her trying to save everyone despite we knowing Saber explicitly had ideal that can't save everyone hence rebellion happened, Saber never argued with Kiritsugu as 5th war clearly stated the only 3 times she got to listen him is while receiving 3 CS from him .One of the clear one being Saber's wish- Saber's wish to grail was to redo the selection day since she made contract as pseudo heroic spirit, however this is not the case anymore in Zero which at first says she wanted to change destruction of Britain then changed her mind after seeing Lancelot. There are a lot things in Zero that makes no sense from her lore. You can find those discussion over online lol.
If you think being idealist is bad then you shouldn’t even appreciate Castoria, because developing there and sacrificing everything to become the Guardian (which parallel what King Arthur was during her life) literally her ending FGO fans would never make sense, as expected

Castoria past
When Artoria was born, the fairies didnt know what to do, one of the fairy villagers suggest that they should treat her like a livestock (as humans do).
1) The revelation of the Child of Prophecy in Salisbury
2) The incident at the Dracae river.

Castoria updated profile after clearing LB6:
Default]
The "Child of Prophecy" that saves the Fairy Nation.
[Bond 1]
Height/Weight: 154cm・42kg
Source: Fate/Grand Order
Region: Inland Sea of the Star, Tintagel of the Sea Roar
Alignment: Neutral Good
Gender: Female
Since she is not a fairy originated from the Fairy Nation Britain, the fairies from Britain have an instinctive antipathy against her.
Conversely, for fairies who hate all fairies from Britain, fairies not born in the Six Clans and fairies who hate themselves to begin with, the "fairy of paradise" is a source of solace.
[Bond 2]
A splendidly pure and energetic girl.
She is merely feeling heavy.)
[Bond 3]
Still, since she is mindful about the surrounding mood, Artoria does not reveal those inner aspects of herself and instead ends up keeping up with the appearances by saying "ok, leave it to me!" and behaving exactly as the surroundings expect.
I'm much happier living normally."
Although she is constantly "finding faults in herself" in this manner, one can say that the very fact that her personality - which "worries about the surroundings, without falling to evil nor forgetting about decorum" - does not waver no matter what sort of harsh circumstances・cruel treatment she faces serve as proof that she is an aristocrat.
The definite difference between her and Oberon is that one point.
[Bond 4]
During the journey of pilgrimage, while the motivation of the fake Child of Prophecy was "I'm scared, but I'll work hard because I want to help everyone", the motivation of the true Child of Prophecy was "I'm scared, but saying such a thing would make everyone disappointed, so I have no choice but to work hard".
"I was able to persevere this time, but most likely, next time, I will probably end up giving up on everything..."
If the Fairy Kingdom is a fairy-tale pictured by Morgan, the journey of pilgrimage is a fairy-tale describing Artoria's growth.
[Bond 5]
Charisma of Hope: B
Having been raised and departed on a journey as the Child of Prophecy, Artoria is endowed with the charisma to make people place their hopes and rely on her.
Fairy of Avalon: A
A power concealed under the name "Protection of the Lake".
The power possessed by a fairy of paradise to bless life and protect the target's strength of fate from all sorts of corruption.
Holy Sword Creation: A
A power concealed under the name "Sword of Selection".
Once this power has truly awoken, everything that she creates will end up gaining the "sword"-attribute.
Fairy Eyes: A
Not the mystic eyes that people possess, but the field of vision that "switches over the world", which fairies are endowed with from birth.

@raynaldo arlen k.eman purge all xenos!

That hurts so much. 😭
because lb 3 jingke is not Chaldea jingke that is why she doesnt remember. She already got summoned before LB3 happen
@@reiiz9942 Nope, LB3 Jing Ke is Chaldea's. It specifically mentions it. And when she's partying with the other servants at beni enmas inn it specifically mentions that when she was resummoned she retained her memories except for lb3
yes, like everyone especially lb 5 manricardo and fhen you read his interlude😭😭

Neither stars nor sunrises did justice to describe the look in her eyes and the stoic but gentle lips that graced her visage."
"Truly, at that moment, the lily wilted and the princess died. From her ashes, a king rose. The Savior of Britain had been borne."
I'm glad Artoria, the savior of Britian is amazing in both Proper Human History and Lostbelt despite all the hardship and negativity surrounding them. She keeps moving forward no matter the timeline.
Castoria was a blessing in disguise for me since my first day in FGO JP
This girl carried me from Orleans all the way to Lostbelt 5 and a half
I do plan on letting her reach Bond Level 15 someday
Good thing this one isn't stiff and emotionless for no reason, even in her "Guardian" state she shows by far more emotion than og ever did.
> OG is emotionless
>she shows more emotions than OG
> Castoria actually reuses OG's expressions from VN
yeah dont throw shits like that if you never even bothered reading things about OG.
@@juneriders2872 he's strong troll / Artoria hater. I don't know what does he feels the need to still troll this video, in 2 weeks after publication.
Is it bad that I slightly prefer this Altoria than OG. I mean I always prefer John Walker than Cap America because he’s more human and less perfect.
The natural choice
@@ReaperBlaze76 because that's how humans are, flawed there's good sides and bad sides. Captain America is seen as this almost flawless hero, unwavering, righteous, he's all about truth, justice and all that he's a big blue boy scout like Superman (not counting the other dark versions). Imo the more perfect a character is the harder it is to relate to them because that's not how normally people are.
I prefer Castoria too, OG Saber is too stoic i know that's her character but i find Castoria more interesting.

It's funny how you say they kinda fit each other nicely when the two of them say during the story how similar they are. Funny enough I found something too while I did some digging
At one of her final moments with Ritsuka she quitely says to herself "But what I really enjoyed was Gloucester on the 11th day. It might have been a normal event for you but for the first time in my life, I walked down the main street with the person I love"
Now I went to Shin-Iti's stream, screenshot that dialog and that is what Castoria exactly said. It said "好きなヒト と". And "好き" according to JMdict dictionary means 'in love', 'love' or 'romantically interested' but it can also mean 'like' or 'favorite'. Also did a search on Google too and it said it is most commonly used for "love" (I want to link the source but for some reason everytime I do, RUclips deletes my comment. wow man, came here for Castoria love since she's the most well done Artoria since OG Artoria from other TM Novels and directly makes us understand why OG went with so much sufferings for humans yet stayed sturdy in her resolve of working hard for better Future. then found shipping war, secondaries writing bull, and pity attempt of defaming OG Artoria's character and personality despite very obviously not knowing about her(or not being able to comprehend her) while also misinterpreting Castoria's character arc.
There can be a lot Lostbelt made by Alien God's fantasy tree, but none of them can produce a better King Arthur for human history than what PHH King Arthur did by taking all the burdens and moving forward with them
Fate always hold people who struggle for future highly.

> Zero being non canon is now me twisting my opinion
Zero explicitly contradicts with several information with Saber's lore such as forgetting her pragmatic side, never fighting Gilgamesh or using her sword against him to refuse his bridal proposal like she tells in F/SN, Zero making her trying to save everyone despite we knowing Saber explicitly had ideal that can't save everyone hence rebellion happened, Saber never argued with Kiritsugu as 5th war clearly stated the only 3 times she got to listen him is while receiving 3 CS from him .One of the clear one being Saber's wish- Saber's wish to grail was to redo the selection day since she made contract as pseudo heroic spirit, however this is not the case anymore in Zero which at first says she wanted to change destruction of Britain then changed her mind after seeing Lancelot.
There are a lot things in Zero that makes no sense from her lore. You can find those discussion over online lol.
If you think being idealist is bad then you shouldn’t even appreciate Castoria, because developing there and sacrificing everything to become the Guardian (which parallel what King Arthur was during her life) literally her ending

wow it's been almost 3 months and this comment section is full of: fsn haters, seiba haters, fgo fanboys who think it's better than fsn 🤣🤣🤣, people who at least had the Nice intention to share the story and translate it (the best of here), gudaotards and shiroutards who fight over ships and completely ignore everything else "oh then she's in love with ritsuka" though the comment is several paragraphs long and details the history of castoria not a ship and the muramasa-shirou fans that for a nice wink that Nasu wanted to do, they take a ship out of nowhere ...
Late FGO IS better than fsn tho anyday.
@@ontothemartin4684 in your opinion ? Yes, and that's fine. Personally i don't think the history is good... But that's my opinion.

If by Saber haters you mean the people that say Castoria is better or surpass her, they are right.
@@juneriders2872 actually no, and the funny thing is that from the comments You describe i see them as the ones that didn't Even read the VN and stay with shity versión of Fate Zero but anyway, for them "you're trolling" 🤣
