I always categorize Blur as experimental/alternative band rather than Britpop, they are closer to Radiohead than Oasis, experimental wise. They are experimental like Radiohead but with Mod/Punk and British attitude/power.
i've been really enjoying this series but instead of the usual request for sonic youth or mbv, i'd really like to see recreations of non-guitar instruments like synths or zither on guitar with modern pedals, or stuff that was recorded with studio tricks like robin guthrie's guitar on heaven or las vegas. i don't see enough appreciation for less traditional guitar sounds on here, and it'd be fantastic to see more content about guitarists who don't have well-documented rigs. it feels like i'm asking for a lot tbh but i think it'd make for really engaging content. again, love the work here, and super cool to see andy do one of these.
Andy should do all of these videos. Its night and day. The other's may nail a part or two of certain songs, Andy literally perfects all the parts, even bass. Sounds like the recordings to me
No one seems to be commenting about the fact that Andy did this one (krhmm.. sarcasm..) So I'll point it out. ANDY DID THIS EPISODE AND HE DID AN AWESOME JOB!
Andy I will be 38 in July and have been following you for 8 years and I love that you love so many of my favorite bands as such as this thank you for the amazing video this is brilliant ! Qotsa songs from you for for years and it always gets better cheers my friend from Lake Lotawana MO !!!
Nice job! I didn't expect Andy to be at the helm here. How about The Killers, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Black Keys, The Black Angels, and Phish?
Oh you guys HAVE GOT to do a segment on how to sound like Deftones, one of these days... I’d absolutely love that! I love Reverb in general, just such an amazing channel for musicians like myself 🤘🏻
Yeah. You bump the rate down to about 2 o clock, if i remember correctly on a BF-2 to get that woosh sound. And the creepy little guitar licks are with the rate and depth all the way up
Hi Andy, any advice for Boss DD-3 settings for the glitchy bits on On Your Own? I just can’t get it right, either with delay before rat or vice versa. Thank you!
Hey guys, sounded pretty good, do you think you guys can do a part 2of David Gilmour? like the solo to another brick in the wall, Mother and comfortably numb,
Graham Coxon is a very clever bloke.
Thanks Andy for restoring the credibility of this series
I dunno, they were doing OK before.
*attempt to keep a straight face fails*
HAhahahahahhahaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! No... no, they weren't.
Whiskeyklone mate did you hear the Muse and Nirvana ones? Pure cringe!
Ameer Saban yes
Did you read my full comment?
Ameer Saban Yes! I couldn't stand the last guy doing it.
@Whiskeyklone Yes, I know you agree with me ;)
That coffee and tv's solo....**HOLY FUCK**
Graham Coxon is a guitar genius!
And a songwriting genius
Graham Coxson is a classy tasteful player. Love the coffee and tv solo tone and effects.
Who's "Graham Coxson"?
"Chemical World" is one of blur's finest 👌🏼 Thank you, Andy, for making everyone see that 😁
Glad Andy is doing this one. You can see the passion in his face.
Graham Coxon is the man!
I always categorize Blur as experimental/alternative band rather than Britpop, they are closer to Radiohead than Oasis, experimental wise.
They are experimental like Radiohead but with Mod/Punk and British attitude/power.
Totally agree
Potent pairings - unknown mortal orchestra
rictualfury Major League Chemicals, Puzzles, From the Sun!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS PLEASEEEEEEEE GOD
This has to be one of the best in the series in terms of the tones. Awesome stuff!
i've been really enjoying this series but instead of the usual request for sonic youth or mbv, i'd really like to see recreations of non-guitar instruments like synths or zither on guitar with modern pedals, or stuff that was recorded with studio tricks like robin guthrie's guitar on heaven or las vegas. i don't see enough appreciation for less traditional guitar sounds on here, and it'd be fantastic to see more content about guitarists who don't have well-documented rigs. it feels like i'm asking for a lot tbh but i think it'd make for really engaging content. again, love the work here, and super cool to see andy do one of these.
That's not what this series is tho.
Its Andy ! !!! Andy just broke the internet! 👍🏻
Andy should do all of these videos. Its night and day. The other's may nail a part or two of certain songs, Andy literally perfects all the parts, even bass. Sounds like the recordings to me
Beetlebum is soooooooo genius. But I pretty much love all Blur. Also the Chemical World solo sounds were spot on.
I'm so glad Andy is doing potent pairings! And especially with Blur. Awesome video guys.
Although I was hoping you'd cover the stuttery guitar effect from On Your Own. A boss DD delay with hold function I think is how he does it?
No one seems to be commenting about the fact that Andy did this one (krhmm.. sarcasm..)
So I'll point it out.
ANDY DID THIS EPISODE AND HE DID AN AWESOME JOB!
123 Thanks! It was a great way to spend time in Chicago.
AndyDemos 👍
I think it was because he's a big fan of Graham's work
God I love Coxon and I love Blur
Cant WAIT for WEMBLEY!!!!!!
Alright Andy, Pavement next please! Show them some love
Andy I will be 38 in July and have been following you for 8 years and I love that you love so many of my favorite bands as such as this thank you for the amazing video this is brilliant ! Qotsa songs from you for for years and it always gets better cheers my friend from Lake Lotawana MO !!!
it's only fair to let andy do this one. he's more than earned it
Song 2 should have been the second song in the video
and if you do a part 2 please oh please do "The Universal"
Lemon Zest it's just reverb
true but it's blur's most popular song cos it's no.1 in top 10 blur songs by watchmojo so why not do it?
@@widowmaker5544 no 1 in watchmojo doesnt mean anything
The video for “The Universal” is so trippy, but then again it was inspired by _A Clockwork Orange_
I like that they're having Andy do these now
Andy delivers, as always. He's so good at doing Blur that I prefer his versions to the originals. :D
Awesome tones and brilliant playing! Spot on!
Andy is friggin awesome! I know Graham is prob watching this as well.
Nice job! I didn't expect Andy to be at the helm here. How about The Killers, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Black Keys, The Black Angels, and Phish?
MaskedMarvel92 king gizzard might be a bit weird cause they can't do any of the microtonal songs, but I second this.
Andy has used Blur loads on his demos - Knew it would be him as soon as I clicked on the thumbnail
MaskedMarvel92 I'd love to see Black Keys, Dan Auerbach is such a great guitarist
yeak, +1 for KILLERS!!!!
Phish would be interesting to see them do. Using a hollow body guitar is one important component that many people overlook.
Nice.
I'd like to see Portishead/Adrian Utley. Pretty please?
Get a Ross compressor for phish clean tone
Bout time! Underrated band in the US and Graham Coxon is a genius
Yes I know. I said they are underrated in the US, they had mass appeal in the UK however still remained relatively underground in the US
Finally someone to take over this series! Andy is solid gold!
I thought my love for Graham Coxon couldn't go any higher, then I saw this video.
The guitar in Chemical World never ceases to amaze me.
I'm trying to play this song right now. I had underestimated it. Huge mistake, my bad!
Such a good band, loved the tips. Not listening on decent speakers but Beetlebum sounded supreme. Didn't want Coffee and TV to end.
could you do the stone roses next
1:02 The best riff from Blur, for me.
And also killer bass line
Oh you guys HAVE GOT to do a segment on how to sound like Deftones, one of these days... I’d absolutely love that! I love Reverb in general, just such an amazing channel for musicians like myself 🤘🏻
Superb! Interesting see how integral the BOSS Vibrato is to much of Coxon's playing.
That's my boy Andy! Nice job brotha! You rock! Havent seen much from you until this video! So its great!
oh gosh this is good !! recreating coxon's singular and beautiful approach !!
Can you please do oasis and joy division next?
This sounds great! Finally Blue is in here, and played by Andy? Gotta love this video
Andy make this series brilliant
Thank god it's Andy, if it wasn't him I'm gonna start a riot at the Reverb HQ
Andy you are the best, i love all your "production"
You've done a ruddy brilliant job with this one!
Can only say I wish Boys and Girls was in this video, the Flanger in it is so addictive
The guitar has flanger?
Yeah. You bump the rate down to about 2 o clock, if i remember correctly on a BF-2 to get that woosh sound.
And the creepy little guitar licks are with the rate and depth all the way up
Damn!!!! It's Andy!!!!
Bloody fantastic! Nailed the sounds ! The boss vibrato is all over the place, really. I bought a cheap behringer clone because of Coxon.
Coffee and TV was spot on!
Wow! Really nothing but WOW. Andy - the hype is real!!
Fantastic playing. Nailed every riff.
Sounds way cooler with Andy's playing and tips
Potent Pairings - Mac Demarco
Toni RHCP hey man I requested this last time and I got tons of hate but it's just cause he really just uses vibrato and reverb
rictualfury oh, so bad ... but me chupa un huevo, i wanna an potent pairings of Mac
Toni RHCP andá a la cancha bobo, y de paso comprate un reverb y un vibrato
Cactus Smitho JAJAJAJAJAJA
Just a twin and a boss ce2
Thanks Andy! This was Great!
Andy is my favourite guitar player.
Andy! On a potent pairings! Life is great. I hope this was recorded in Chicago.
Would love to see more of these!
You should of done bugman that song still impressive me with the guitar work by coxen
Never clicked on something so fast
Good move getting Andy to do this video.
Coxon is God. 🎵🎸🎶😎
If you guys don't do a My Bloody Valentine one soon, I think I'm going to have a nervous breakdown
el loco capo, el solo de coffe and tv le salió a toda todisima raja
Would love to know how to get that wall of sound guitar noise from Sing.
Lots of reverb I think
He looks really entertaining doing this
Andy knows his business!
King gizzard
Thanks for this! I always needed a second opinion on the outro for Chemical World
eargasm
Coxon is a fucking genius
Thought that the pedal used in the clean riff of Chemical world was a chorus+vibrato, not a flanger.
Great video. Thanks a lot!
Check out that pedal show with Graham Coxon for more blur guitar goodness
Hi Andy, any advice for Boss DD-3 settings for the glitchy bits on On Your Own? I just can’t get it right, either with delay before rat or vice versa. Thank you!
Andy is a beast
Great job Andy! Black Sabbath, Rush, or Van Halen next pls!
Lovely, thanks Andy.
Bro you rock at this.
Andy (or anyone here) know what that Acoustic is? I love that headstock. Can tell it starts with a C but not clear enough. Thanks for any help guys!
Next in this series should be How to sound like Andy
Brilliant video! Thanks andy
Hey, Andy, how about a video on getting Swervedriver's sounds with pedals? They are pedal monsters.
Potent Pairings - Soundgarden, Death Cab For Cutie and Rise Against all sound good to me
great job Andy!
suede please!!!!
Great song choice!
Andy te amooo
Pls make a Rush video(both Alex and Geddy). Love this kind of videos!
This sounds good but am I wrong to say more should have been on a tele? Beetlebum chords needs more delay.
That Les Paul Custom tobacco sunburst, and that Cole Clark acoustic ... :O
Do soundgarden!!!
Happy Mondays
Andy is a god
Thanks for this! Did I miss Girls & Boys?
Hey guys, sounded pretty good, do you think you guys can do a part 2of David Gilmour? like the solo to another brick in the wall, Mother and comfortably numb,
Will you guys do Richie Sambora from Bon Jovi
Fcking awesome guys. I would like to see a ''potent pairings- man or astroman?/brian causey'' someday.
'??I dont understand, you are saying that the fuzz of song doesnt come from guitars but from, the bass?
Does anyone know the acoustic Andy uses on coffee and tv? It's so beautiful.
Cole Cark Fat Lady
Is the Cole Clark Acoustic a Fat Lady 2?
How to sound like the stone roses please
