Hi Akis! I'm living in a wheelchair in a nursing home in Canada, but just found out I'm soon to move to my own place with an accessible kitchen! I want to make your moussaka! But this might be an easier recipe to start...🙏
As a Greek I can verify he’s the best to follow you can also watch others to learn more tricks …I’ve just started my journey in Greek cooking and loving it
I am making meatball subs tonight for my hubby and son to take to the rugby league. I actually use mint on a regular basis in my meatball recipe and am cooking them in a red sauce. Proud Greek!!!
Prepared these today and have just made a few as a bar snack..... wow, I think I may now be addicted. Thanks Akis, these are amazing. I will be ordering these when I am back in Athens in October.
So ... as you made these look so easy to make, I decided to try it 😎 I've never made meatballs before .. recipe was easy to follow and managed to make 25 and I have to say, these are incredibly flavoursome!! they're delicious!😍 A Silent thank you!! Of course i will be making these again ... and again... and again! 🙏😋
WIll definitely try this, look so good! May I suggest something? In your greek speaking videos, would it be possible for you to add english subtitles there? I'm learning greek, and would love to be able to listen to your videos in greek to help me learn! Thanks!
I believe youtube has a subtitles button but that is a great idea because I'm learning too. Thank God I'm fluent in Spanish because it makes learning other Latin languages much easier.
My grandmother made meatballs like that except she would put them in a soup. It's my favorite nostalgic comfort food and the mint gives it an A mazing flavor. She added carrots, potatoes and chayote, a squash that looks like a green pear. Yum! I need to try keftedes.
I love your greek recipes Akis. When I watch them, its like taking a short trip to Greece, without having to go to the airport ;-). Would it be wrong to serve Tsaziki with this dish, to dip the meat balls into ?
Childhood memories 🙂. We used to rush as kids if we knew that smell was coming from the block of apartments and we were praying it was from the family apartment and not the neighbour's. Am I right or not, Mr. Akis?
I think the mint goes much better with ground pork than with ground beef actually. If I make keftedes with ground beef I’ll use dill and parsley and if I use pork I’ll use mint. It’s prob just personal preference though. BUT fries are just not as good in the US. I really think they can not be replicated here!! 🤷🏻♀️💙🇬🇷
I don't understand wearing gloves for hygiene if you touch everything in the kitchen first with the gloves then into the meat. Surely it is better without gloves and then just wash your hands before you shove it in the meat?
What a very strange and insignificant observation to complain about. 🙄 To each their own. Some people don't like putting their hands in raw meat to assemble meatballs because of the texture and sensation.
@@hppycmpr1972 that’s not the problem she is trying to point out. The problem is he touched the meat, then shoved his fingers in to salt and pepper cellar, and touched a bunch of other things with the dirty gloves hands. He spread germs all over the kitchen and contaminated spices.
@@samberg1477 He just doesn't want gooey meat and eggs and flower all over his hands cause it takes forever to wash off and its faster and easy to just throw away the glove
@@DRIVEWITHDRAY you are not understanding my point. I don’t care that he has gloves on. It’s that his gloves were dirty from touching the meat and then he spread it all over his kitchen. That’s how people can get salmonella poisoning and various other things. He is not kitchen safe.

My girlfriend says this is the best recipe she ever tried! I agree, we are making them today. Thanks Akis! 😄 Greetings from Serbia.
Great channel. So unannoying, unlike most cooking channels. Thanks Akis!
Lovely, thanks Akis. In South Africa 🇿🇦 we call them Frikkadels. We also add some Chilli, Parsley and Thyme. Very yummy!
The best cook ….. love from Algeria & USA

oh absolutely with tzatziki, but the best pairing is with feta or even better, tirokafteri! (a spicy feta spread)
yum.
that's a perfect match 👌

Hello from the USA!!! How much of the bread did you use. Is that dried bread vs. soaked bread in water? Thank you!!
Yes, it's all the bread with the crust if that's what you mean. No, we don't soak it somewhere.

I have personally had it with beef and it's delicious. You can also use ground lamb if you're not a pork eater.
Akis why do you eat your friends fries?
Just kidding your greek accent is very charming 😅
Keftethes love them in all variations.
Especially the turkish one Köftethes 😂❤
Il a précisé GREEK meatballs.
😮!!!!!
Shape meatballs after being in the flour.. Good tip. Efharisto
🔝
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Είσαι ΑΣΤΕΡΙ
Akis where's the cinnamon???
In Keftedes?! no way! But you may add cinnamon in the red sauce, if you're making the meatballs with red sauce, that is.
Tomatosauce is missing 😂
now i'm going to have to...
Soda or vinegar ❤
Vinegar! 😀
Deep fried meatballs...how can those be bad
Just a quick question was leaving the plastic ladle in the frying pan for so much time made on purpose?
Δε το αγαπάς το κύμινο ε; Ούτε την κανέλα;
😋😋😋😋😋😋😋❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I can resist. Definitely, not the best meatballs on the planet. Not even the best Greek meatballs, let alone Italian.
Ps. - Feta on the fries
- MDK ✌️
Spanish and greeks speaks english in the same way of pronunciation
No 🐖😍
This is screaming for a garlicky lemony sauce of some kimd!?

@@hppycmpr1972 You find basic hygiene strange and insignificant? Don't ever invite me to eat when you cook please.

Minced pork? what are the Turks going to say about this very haram sacrilege?
You can use beef or lamb.
I am a Turk and I eat pork
Don’t like it don’t make it
Who cares! this is a Greek recipe no one is forcing you to make recipe
this is turkish ffs
Pork meatballs…. Okay
I mean, Turks drink raki despite being haram, it is never too late to cook some 100% Turkish pork Kofte!
it clearly says "classic Greek meatballs" in the title, are you blind? :[
Yes turkish and greek..both..please just overcome this subject..
@@UhDUUUHlol cool. still türk 🇹🇷♥️
