That's a nice planter! John Deere parts are not the only outrageous parts, Case is just as bad I found out due to unfortunate dealings that caused the back window in my 3294 to self destruct into thousands of little glass shards and they wanted 1500 bucks for a flat piece of glass with 10 holes in it no thanks, I went to abiline machine and got the same window for 357 and it came in the mail in 4 days and now it's almost ready for installation but that's gonna take a few of us guys to do it safely lol 🤣
Thanks very much 😁 ..... and yes, it's horrible how much these companies are charging for stuff - we too, are buying more aftermarket or other places ....
Been waiting for a update! This is a very cool build! The only drawback to a 8-rigid frame in our area though, is the transport. Not very rural in our neck of the woods anymore
Hey! Good to hear from you! ... center flex and fold would have been nice - but were making the best of it, with what we have to work with... limited tools and existing material definitely poses some challenges .... if a guy had c&c equipment / cad programs, etc - it would be easy to scratch build some really neat stuff ..... luckily in our area, we are close tohome so road width isn't much of an issue
Thats gonna be a sweet one of a kind! Deeres parts seemed to double in price the past couple years after all the merging of dealers and taking competition out of the market. Looking forward to your finished product 👍
Thanks very much! And always great to hear from you ..... and right! - parts prices are horrible! They've just totally monopolized... not only monopolized, a screw you attitude ontop of the monopilzation - its sad and definitely not getting any better
I love what you are doing. 4 years ago I built my 16 row planter. Then a year later we built our air seeder for soybeans. It is a blessing and a burden to have the skills to do your own work. I get most schematics through parts 777. Without access to these I would not be able to get anything done while sourcing parts. Good luck and keep that sharp eye.
I’m enjoying this build! Don’t see any planters like this in the southeast. And it’s rare to see a pull type planter around here, almost all are 3 point.
Thanks very much! .... about everything up here is drawn ... but in areas where they irrigate is where the mounted planters thrive - especially if it's surface irrigation ...about 125 miles west of us, in Nebraska, in the flat irritated areas, you start to see a lot of mounted planters out there - but that's about as close to home as they get ...... I like seeing all the different types of agriculture when we travel, it's usually the highlight of any trips I take .... hope all is well - great to hear from you
@@Blackearthexcavationandtiling agriculture is so diverse from one region to another in our country, it’s always cool to see how farms 250 miles from where you farm differ than your own. Everything thing is good here my man! Finally getting some rain around these parts, starting to fill the creeks again.
Thanks so much! ... the parts sure do rack up fast - overall, a little more expensive then planned, but we committed to the idea, so we'll see it though and hope it works out ...
I thought our local dealer was the only one that operated that way . I like the online ordering parts portal but the parts guys at our local dealer doesn't like it. I if they do not go online and show your order received then you will not get you parts and if they actually do their job they will never call or email and let you know your parts are ready for pick up.
Exactly .... I think the portal just goes to thier email or something, someplace they never check it ... we've used it in the past and they missed orders....it's pathetic trying to get parts ordered

Thank you very much!
Awesome build.
I may have to build a 1/64 toy version when your done
Thank you very much!! 😁.... a toy version would be awesome 👌
Looks great so far. With the crazy parts prices are you able to hit close to your project budget?
