It looked very well packaged. It is cool that you got a saw from the UK, it makes a change from us importing parts from the US. Shrewsbury is in the west of the country, the opposite side of the country to us. I think I noticed that saw on ebay and I hope the shipping was not as expensive as it is when we have to ship overseas
It's not really an XL-12, its a 58.1 cc Super XL-12 Automatic. XL-12's were 54cc manual oilers, this is an auto oiler. I believe this Husher muffler was an option for the Canadian and export market. It might even be a required muffler as Canada and European countries had stricter rules on noise and even required chain brakes early on.
Nice find!
I can't believe you got the package that quickly! I can't wait to see the restoration!
I have the XL-904 in line first, I think

Thanks, The price of the saw and a reasonable shipping cost made it very affordable and not overly priced for such a rare saw

I’ve never seen a muffler like that on an xl12. Cool saw!

@@oologahgardentractorandcha3055 I meant to say I haven’t seen a husher muffler on any of the super xl/xl12 series saws. Still very cool. 👍🏻
Cool find, round muffler is odd, and being a 60s saw having no manual oiler to go with it is odd.. The export saws are interesting
