Not only have your videos "not been bad", they have been amazing. Keep it up, you can rest assured that your inbox will remain full, even if I have to write all them comments myself
Gotta say I really love your personality - so authentic, positive but informed. It really is inspiring- all the best for this fresh new year for all of us. May this year be filled with peace, equality and kindness.
Thank you so much for making videos this year! Your enthusiastic passion for learning and life in general just exudes from every frame of your videos and makes me think and smile in equal measure. I'm always extra excited to see a video from you pop up in my sub box :)
I’ve no idea what it is... but I could listen to you talk for hours! Your voice seems so familiar but incredibly educated! You’re also exactly the same in person which is wonderful! I’ll definitely be picking up some of these reads!
I always love the way in which you are thinking and are talking about complicated issues you really care about. Sometimes the thoughts raised in your videos stay with me for several weeks, if not months. You really make me actively think and help me form my own opinions on topics. So thank you for that!
Found you this year through your interview with Laura and since I have fallen in love with your personality. I find it hilarious that you are connected to so many of my favourite British RUclipsrs as well. You are honestly one of the few youtubers that I still get excited for when I see you have uploaded a new video.
Thank you for being so authentically yourself this year & thank you for taking the time to make all these videos. Your videos are like a warm cup of tea that shows up when you need it the most
I love that your videos are so ...easy? You say what you want to say, talk about things that are important to you . no fancy setting, just an awesome woman
I genuinely love watching your videos (and listening to your podcasts) - they always make me laugh and make me think. I've been watching for a good few years now, so thank you for making them!
your videos this year, especially your chuck out your clothes and gumption videos have really helped me change my perception of how i approach just living in general so thank you!! hope you had a good new years
I’m loving what you’ve been doing on yt this year. I also love how much you’ve been supporting others, including me. Thanks! Here’s to a fantastic 2018!
You're one of my favourite people to listen to on youtube. You always have something so interesting to say and I love the way you think about things. I've enjoyed all your videos this year and am looking forward to more
Your channel is one of my favorites, and I love love LOVE that you keep creating content that means something, both to yourself and to a bunch of us, because listening to you talk about something you're passionate about is my favorite part of my day. On a completely different note, a few of my favorite books this year: Tin Man, Dress Codes for Small Towns and Maurice!
Your channel is honestly my favourite because you talk about interesting topics that are thought provoking and make me want to better myself. I hope you have a great new year 🎉🎉
I love every video you do. They are absolutely brilliant, especially as I started a Bachelor of Arts this year majoring in English Literature. Please make more videos about minimalism and book reviews as I enjoy them. ~love from an Australian viewer.
I only started watching at the end of 2017 and I can’t wait to carry on in this new year. I just love hearing your perspective and how positive you are as a person 💕
Leena, I started watching your videos a couple of weeks ago (I found you through Tessa Violet's videos) and your channel has CHANGED my life. I'm not kidding. Your channel is my new favorite channel. You're so insightful and passionate and your content has helped me think further about the things that I find important, and also you have instilled some kind of "I can do this!" confidence in my in a pretty difficult time in my life. So, thank you. Happy New Year.
THIS is yet another reason why you are one of my absolute favourites on youtube! I have such an affinity for your need to soak up all we can learn from the world
Ohhh yes. This is the video that I've been waiting for. I've been watching your videos since your first year at Uni and you keep getting better and better so no worries mate.
You were, without a doubt, my favourite RUclipsr of 2017. So glad I subscribed and got to listen to your “ponderings” and advice about life. Hope 2018 treats you well!
Also, out of the things I read last year, I would highly recommend A Constellation of Vital Phenomena by Anthony Marra. I haven’t stopped thinking about it since I put it down.
and my 2018 reading list has grown yet again! thank you for your honest thoughts and opinions you have shared with us this past year, they have really inspired me to change the way I look at certain things and how I view myself as a person in general. I hope 2018 is going to be a great year for you and all the people you love✨
I always love your recommendations and insights, can't wait to check some of these out! I also think it's cool that you distinguish b/w your "best" and "favorite" books, that's never really occurred to me before but makes a lot of sense!
So this just promoted a couple of books I thought I'd add to my TBR straight to YES I MUST READ THEM. Thanks Leena - great video as always. Lovely words at the end.
Decided to pop up and say thanks for being authentic and creating thought provoking discussions and inspiring content :) I've been watching for many years but usually quietly haha. I'm glad this year has been a good one for your RUclips channel!
Just wanted to say a maaaassive thank you for all of your content this year. I discovered you through the banging book club podcast (back when it was on soundcloud lol) and ever since then I have watched your videos and listened to your podcast(s) to make me laugh and learn and basically be happy. In particular, your amazing 40 days of questions series which I constantly re-watch for inspiration and positivity and hipster glasses inspo. Anyway I'm v excited to continue watching your vids and listening to your podcast for as long as you'll make them! X
I've been subscribed to you for years. I mean we are talking when your channel had 4 videos on it... I think you're wonderful, articulate, fantastic, everything I want to be when I grow up (I'm 23, so I say that in a satirical manner)... you are basically everything I would want in an older sister.
Just discovered you and your videos and they’ve have been exactly what I need at this time. Thank you for creating some awesome content and just being yourself
I just wanted to leave you a comment to say thank you for making the videos that you make. As my adult life continues to get more and more hectic and I find myself not having as much time to watch channels which I subscribe to, I always watch your videos. They hake me happy, they make me think, they introduce me to new books to read.
Lovely video, Leena!! I love watching your book videos because you read so widely. You've really sold me on that minimalism book - it's always been something I've vaguely believed in partially out of necessity (I graduated uni this year and so have moved for the fifth time in as many years) but I'd really like to put a finer philosophical point on it now that I'm likely to stay more put and have more of an opportunity to accumulate stuff if I want to.
The end of this video really resonated with me. I always get excited when I see one of your videos in my sub box, because I know it's going to be insightful, entertaining and interesting. I thoroughly enjoy the videos you make Leena, and it's refreshing to see you so passionate about the content you've made over the past twelve months. I hope you keep making them for many many more!
I read Let them Eat Chaos on your recommendation and absolutely loved it! I'm so keen to read her novel and look into more of Kate Tempest's work! Honestly, I only read it about 2 weeks ago and have already recommended it at least a handful of times. Thanks for being amazing and giving me new authors, poets, and ideas to think about! Now back to my cup of tea and some books! Cheers! Happy New Year!
I've been reading so much less lately (bc college is A Lot of Reading and also life is A Lot) but hearing you speak about books so passionately reminds me that hey! I love books, I love reading, and here's a whole list of good options. Thanks!!!
I turned up here, and I had a good time! I loved your decision to film outside, even with the wind! It made for beautiful footage and a refreshing change! Happy New Year!
Scrolled apathetically through a subscription box full of twee montages of 2017, found this one and was like 'now this is the kind of round up I'm in to'. Thanks for always making stuff well worth watching Leena! I really liked the 40 days of videos series you did - at the start of this year I was living in a tiny room with no heating in a flat with people I didn't know, and I'd come home from work and sit on my bedroom floor and watch your videos while I ate a crap dinner comprised of random things I bought from Tesco because I was too scared to use the kitchen, and I'd watch those videos, and it made it all seem not so bad haha.
This was good! Your videos always are, really. I love your passionate, enthisiastic, fun and funny, deep/questioning and optimistic outlook and approach
I love it when you talk about books, I love your vides about books ! You´re awesome and always make me wanna read nonstop! (please do a video on the "Goodbye, things" book!!)
I don’t usually comment on videos but just wanted to say thanks for making great wholesome content that makes me think, challenges my ideas and also makes me want to get up and do something to make a change. I’m looking forward to what you create and share in 2018!
Thanks for always sharing Leena!! I’ll try to share more in the comments, because, shit, I get so much out of hearing your thoughts on things, and you’ve helped me loads this year!! I’m glad you’re having a good time here 🧡
aww this video was so fun!! thank you for another year of great videos and brightening up my life a few minutes at a time, leena! (also i really wanna read the art of gentle protest after listening to that podcast episode)
I always love book recommendations and liked the twist of you being outside. My favourite books were all the light we cannot see by Anthony Doer, the humans by Matt Heig, when breath becomes air by Paul Kalanithi and the princess saves herself in this one by Amanda Lovelace(poet), have a happy new year!
I'm a new subscriber here and I really really enjoy your videos. I've been watching youtube for more than 10 years and I've seen the platform change so much man... now I forget sometimes that youtube is not only about these really loud vlogging/pranking/clickbait channel targeting 12 year olds or huge talkshows that are just using youtube as a business strategy. I'm so so glad to see that there are still people like you on this platform sharing your passions and being aunthentic. Please keep doing your videos if you have time and if you enjoy making them, I sure really enjoy watching them :))
I immensely enjoy your videos, they are of the first ones I watch when I see them in my subscribtions. I could listen to you for hours so I hope I'll continue to find joy in making content! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and I wish you an amazing 2018!
Happy new year!! Minimalism book sounds interesting. You, Lucy and Hannah have kept me entertained on my Sunday cleaning duties when I stick on your podcast and I'm done in no time! So thanks. Need to check out what you'll be reading next year. Also thanks for all the book videos you have made, you were part of the reason I started reading this year and since August I managed to read 30 books, still got lots to go but absolutely loving this new found love again. Cheers duck 👍🏼
Love you and your channel Leena!! From someone who's had a pretty crappy year in general, your videos always make me smile (if not laugh like a delirious hyena!) Look forward to lots more amazing (obvs!) content from you this year xxx
Hi Leena, just want to state my presence here and say I love your videos. You've been my fav channel to tune into this year, so please continue doing what you're doing because it is food for my soul. Also thanks for the book recommendations!! I cannot wait to see what you do in 2018 xx
The Creative Habit by Twyla Tharp is like Big Magic but a little more action oriented highly recommend the physical copy because there are worksheets, but the audio book is great as well. Always love your book suggestions, have loved all that I've read that you suggested!
Hampstead Heath is so lovely, big enough to forget you're in a city (well, unless there's sirens going by...) My favourite book this year was "From Here to Eternity: Travelling the World to Find the Good Death" by Caitlin Doughty. It sounds morbid but it's a really interesting exploration about attitudes around the world towards death, and grief. Happy New Year! x
Normally not one to comment, but your chat has inspired! Thanks for making amazing videos, don’t ever stop because you are a massive source of inspiration. Frog snog right back at you!!!
I love your videos so much, I really feel privileged to be able to dip into your thought process, and aesthetically your videos are gorgeous as well. Thank you, and have a brilliant 2018 xxx
love your videos so much Leena. You inspire me to be creative in my own way. So thanks :D (also Hi from Australia, been around since pre pink/white hair and have been showing up since) Some of my favourite kinds of videos include your bathtub-busking, discussion videos, when you interviewed Harry, book reviews, poetry videos, that one you did with your actor friends waaaay back, your Lent series. Basically everything. You have introduced me to amazing books, excellent feminist literature and convinced me that politics is not a dirty word.
Yes! Lovely video. Been watching you for years. Thanks for the content:) definitely going to check out goodbye things as I'm trying to create less waste this year and for the foreseeable future!
This was such a great video, Leena! I love getting new reading recommendations. Two of my favorite books that I read this year were The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas and Turtles All The Way Down by John Green. Both of these books were really interesting to me to read since the perspective of both of the protagonists were very different to my own (a cis white male).
First video of the year by one of my favorite creators, truly a great start! Happy 2018 Leena, i'm thankful for you and for everything you create! Have an amazing year! 🎉❤
I have always loved your videos but especially so this year. I often don't leave comments when I don't have anything articulate to say, lazily favoring the like button, but I hope to leave messages of support more often now!
I’ve really loved your videos this year. You make me conscious of things that I could be doing more/better without ever making me feel guilty or bad about myself. Your excitement and passion for things you’re interested in is so refreshing and I hope it never goes away. I’m definitely going to read Why I’m no longer talking (to white people) about Race this year and I’m going to try and physically and mentally let go of a lot of stuff. Hope you have a brilliant year x
I found your channel this year, so haven't particularly browsed your older videos, but from the videos I have watched, or just listened to, as sometimes I just like something going on in the background, are all very genuine and I truly appreciate it as a viewer. I personally haven't listened to too much of your more political heavy videos just because I personally get too into my own thoughts and fears and insecurities and just start going into dark places of how humanity is and where we are as a society (particularly in the US) so I apologize for not participating in those videos. However even in your videos about books are about particular youtubers who have written books, I particularly enjoy because despite that some may argue that it's "the same" as any other "booktuber" I feel how you deliver is not. I feel as though you are discussing the book with me, you are having these interviews for me, rather than talking at me where I know you're trying to reach a wide view of audiences and so are saying what you think should be said, No. You discuss what you want to and the passion behind it is there and it's real and comforting. So thank you. I look forward to seeing your videos in 2018.
I hardly ever comment on anything but I know i should do it more. I've really enjoyed loads of your videos this year, I can't wait to see what you do next year!
This is hilarious! I've watched your videos since 2013 and don't comment nearly as often as I should. But you are a joy to watch and you're only getting better. I wish you all the best in 2018
love the effort put into this; this is another time you've mentioned kate tempest which reminds me to get on reading her. i haven't read anything about minimalism but any book you mention on the topic 'i'm like ooh that sounds so interesting!' :D
This was a GREAT video, Leena. You always inspire me to think deeper and make more insightful videos, seriously. Cheers for that. In the new year I'd definitely recommend reading Silence by Erling Kagge. Quite short, really perceptive, written by a really interesting guy too (a publisher/author/explorer, been to north and south poles, Everest, and trekked across Antarctica for 50 days with no one to talk to.) It's like a kind of life minimalism, if that makes sense, and it was one of my favourite books of this year. Also, thank you for the Hampstead. Haven't been there in nearly two years now and I miss it the most. Would love to see other videos like this filmed around London :)
An author that I've absolutely fallen in love with this year is Christos Tsiolkas! He's a Greek Australian author (and as an Aussie it's great to read books by and set in Aust) and is just fucking fabulous! I can't even trust myself to described his work bc it just wouldn't do it justice. His characters and explorations of them are so realistic (especially in The Slap were every character (even the 'bad' ones) get a voice). I've never related more to or been more touched by any other characters.
hi, I found my way here this year from Banging Book Club you do not disappoint, your content is amazing and has a depth that I crave from vids happy new year, enjoy :)
Not only have your videos "not been bad", they have been amazing. Keep it up, you can rest assured that your inbox will remain full, even if I have to write all them comments myself
I'm normally a silent viewer because of anxiety but I've been enjoying your videos for years.
I turned up here, and I had a good time.
I'm always extra excited to see a video from you pop up in my sub box :)
xxxxxx thank you so much !
Your videos this year have been my favorites you've ever made.
i turned up and had a 10/10 time
I’ve no idea what it is... but I could listen to you talk for hours! Your voice seems so familiar but incredibly educated! You’re also exactly the same in person which is wonderful! I’ll definitely be picking up some of these reads!
Once again, this was an absolute treat and perfect timing!
Thanks for sharing earlier too!!
Hi Leena, normally I don't comment on videos but I've been watching and loving your videos for a few years now! Can't wait to see more in 2018 :)
As someone trying to get into reading more I’ve really found the foundations for a love of books on your channel. Thank you!

My New Years resolution is to read more books because of how eloquent and educated you are, Leena! Thanks for your amazing videos this year.
THIS is yet another reason why you are one of my absolute favourites on youtube! I have such an affinity for your need to soak up all we can learn from the world
I love book recommendation videos! I'm sure I'll enjoy these if I ever get to the bottom of my reading list where they've just been added, haha.

by Caitlin Doughty.
I really liked this video. Especially the chatty bit at the end. Enjoy seeing you being happy at (going to misspell it) abersterth
Leena
Hey Leena. Keep doing what you do, because you do it so well! Very excited to keep watching you in 2018
First video of the year by one of my favorite creators, truly a great start!
Great video! Seeing your videos always makes me in such a good mood.
Listening to the craftivism podcast episode first and then hearing you mention it here was really neat. Hope you've had a nice new years! :]
I hardly ever comment on anything but I know i should do it more. I've really enjoyed loads of your videos this year, I can't wait to see what you do next year!
I have absolutely loved your content this year, thank you for making videos :D
I love your videos!❤️ And I agree with everything you said about Reni Eddo-Lodge and Kate Tempest. Have a great year!
I've never related more to or been more touched by any other characters.
hi, I found my way here this year from Banging Book Club you do not disappoint, your content is amazing and has a depth that I crave from vids
happy new year, enjoy :)
I found your channel after seeing your collab with Hannah Witton and I think I've watched every video since then, really enjoying them 😊👍 x
I didn't know Kate tempest had a novel, I have met her a few time she is awesome I loved her play and poetry so will have to get that one
Nice edit :) I haven’t bought a book, possibly since uni (...), and I ordered FOUR BLOODY SELF-HELP BOOKS today! So we’ll see how that goes
That was a very good video, they always are and I always look forward to watching yours the most :) Happy new year x
Great video, especially your thoughts at the end. I'm going through a really hard time and your voice always cheers me up :)
my new "must read"-list. amazing.
