This song really showed a new side of super junior. We know them so well with their catchy dance songs and each member's unique sense of humor but this song really shows that they became part of a 10 year active idol group for a reason. Their vocals are no joke. Heechul in particular surprised me. He never gave off this feeling of being such a good vocalist in any super junior's hit songs.

They were once the kings of kpop and for some of us they still are, nevertheless with all these new kpop groups debuting one after another every single day, their popularity has decreased a little bit. Anyway, take into acccount that the number of views doesn't say anything about their talent either their popularity.

HOLY FUCK. SM has been upping their creativity and production game lately. This song and video was AMAZING, and this is coming from someone who thought most of Kpop was cheesy shit (including SJ, but not anymore). This was an eye-opening experience. Oh, and Donghae looks flawless.

So amazing how in the same setting it is possible to film completely different music videos with different vibes. This is the exact same place where they filmed 'this is love'. Playing with lights and camera shot they managed to create an entire different atmosphere.
Watching this over and over again, I realized all over again, how much I love these boys, I look at them and think I love these members, each and everyone of them, the ones in this mv and the ones missing, and although I've been their fan for 6 years now, and I know well how talented they are, thoughts like ''wow that was an awesome dance'' or ''he hit that note like a boss'' or ''he's acting is so good'' Still cross my mind. SJ really got to show their talent off more this comeback around. So, thank you Super Junior members, especially Shindong for making This is Love and Evanesce music videos so beautifully, thank you to every staff member who helped with this and although I don't have the best opinion of you SM, thank you for listening to fans this time around. I just realized that "This is Love" and "Evanesce" are like dream and reality: in dream all are so bright, so happy, so full; but in reality they are dark, sad, and empty; or maybe the opposite. It saddens me that this song has so few views. It's one of my favourite SuJu songs, it brings me so many feelings the members harmonise so well in the chorus. Every verse is carefully fitted to each members capabilities. The artistic yet simple MV perfectly brings forward the emotions they're looking to convey with this song. Not to mention the lyrics and of course the little dancebreak we get from Eunhyuk. Been an E.L.F since 2008 and will continue to support my boys together with other E.L.F's 💙

When I discovered SuJu, "Evanesce" was not one of the first songs that RUclips recommended to me, but it recommended me the videos of Heechul failing to get on the platform while they were singing this amazing song at a concert 💙
I love the concept. It's like.. the same as This is Love, and yet the opposite, as if it's an alternative story. This is Love is about being on the peak of being in love, all butterflies and flowers blooming. Evanesce is about the straight downhill rollercoaster of breaking up, "why is this happening?" and flowers withering. The same setting as This is Love, but the place isn't loveable, it's chaos, abandoned and dark. Even the lyrics.... sigh... the concept is way beyond my description although I have seen this kind of "total opposites" before. I read Shindong was the director of both MV's... So really really well done, Shindong. The song is just beautiful.

So I guess that's why SM just let them do what they want; they have proven their worth OR (as much as it pains me to say this) SM just dosn't care as long as they make money, after all they were an "experimental" group. The first time I heard this song in the album, I was like: What a beautiful song. Then I found it subtitle and started liking it more and I said: This song deserves a music video. When I knew there was gonna be a video for this song I was really excited, In my personal opinion I like the most "This is love" and "Evanesce" than "Mamacita", this songs are their style, their concept, the clothes, choreography, even the background. In this video, you can feel the pain, Super Junior's members know how to express their feelings while singing and acting (that is one of the reasons I love Super Junior) , I started crying, I felt that something, and at the end when my ultimate bias (Donghae) started crying... Was touching, because... He (and all the members) expressed how is to have a broken heart, how even you see everything that is around you (when you have that feeling) how everything changes because of love. In "This is love" everything was with lights, happiness, etc. because they found love, they were in love, and in this video everything was blurry, darker, dead (the flowers) and they used the same background to express that it is not the same as before. I just love this song and of course, the video.

that dance @2:56 was ridiculously great. although im a sucker for group dancers, and i cant lie that i was really hoping and hanging onto my last hope of there being this awesome group dance through the song, i will say i am so pleased with the duet dance. it had the perfect amount of tenderness, sexiness, swiftness, and this great lyrical hiphop vibe to fit the driving beat in the song. not to mention that the technique was on point. everything in this video is great and the filming also support the realness of the acting.....btw did anyone else sing the song throughout the video? i kno i did~ even those high notes HAHAHAH!

This song is definitely still one of my favourites. Not within kpop, just in music. It's truly beautiful to listen to. And even after all the time that has past, I can still listen to it as though it's my first time hearing it. It's a true gem in the music world (just my opinion). Also, I absolutely love how they link the two music videos together. And I still recall freaking out when I saw the parallels between "This is Love" and "Evanesce". So amazing how in the same setting it is possible to film completely different music videos with different vibes. This is the exact same place where they filmed 'this is love'. Playing with lights and camera shot they managed to create an entire different atmosphere.

Watching this over and over again, I realized all over again, how much I love these boys, I look at them and think I love these members, each and everyone of them, the ones in this mv and the ones missing, and although I've been their fan for 6 years now, and I know well how talented they are, thoughts like ''wow that was an awesome dance'' or ''he hit that note like a boss'' or ''he's acting is so good'' Still cross my mind.
SJ really got to show their talent off more this comeback around.

Come back in 2021. I just realized that "This is Love" and "Evanesce" are like dream and reality: in dream all are so bright, so happy, so full; but in reality they are dark, sad, and empty; or maybe the opposite. The two MVs remind me of the butterfly effect, sometimes life is so happy we cant believe it was real, or sometimes it is so miserable we wish it was actually a dream...
And both of them directed by our one and only SuJu member Shindong. Maybe that's why.

It's one of my favourite SuJu songs, it brings me so many feelings the members harmonise so well in the chorus.
Every verse is carefully fitted to each members capabilities. The artistic yet simple MV perfectly brings forward the emotions they're looking to convey with this song.
Not to mention the lyrics and of course the little dancebreak we get from Eunhyuk.

When I discovered SuJu, "Evanesce" was not one of the first songs that RUclips recommended to me, but it recommended me the videos of Heechul failing to get on the platform while they were singing this amazing song at a concert 💙
Eunhyuk and the girl dancing were amazing.
I love the concept. It's like.. the same as This is Love, and yet the opposite, as if it's an alternative story. This is Love is about being on the peak of being in love, all butterflies and flowers blooming. Evanesce is about the straight downhill rollercoaster of breaking up, "why is this happening?" and flowers withering. The same setting as This is Love, but the place isn't loveable, it's chaos, abandoned and dark. Even the lyrics.... sigh... the concept is way beyond my description although I have seen this kind of "total opposites" before. I read Shindong was the director of both MV's... So really really well done, Shindong. The song is just beautiful.

SJ is one of the top earners in SM. So I guess that's why SM just let them do what they want; they have proven their worth OR (as much as it pains me to say this) SM just dosn't care as long as they make money, after all they were an "experimental" group.
Well anyway, I'm just glad it turned out well for our boys. Thanks to ELF and other supporters who don't belong to the fandom, everyone played a big role in making this happen.

The first time I heard this song in the album, I was like: What a beautiful song. Then I found it subtitle and started liking it more and I said: This song deserves a music video. When I knew there was gonna be a video for this song I was really excited, In my personal opinion I like the most "This is love" and "Evanesce" than "Mamacita", this songs are their style, their concept, the clothes, choreography, even the background.
In this video, you can feel the pain, Super Junior's members know how to express their feelings while singing and acting (that is one of the reasons I love Super Junior) , I started crying, I felt that something, and at the end when my ultimate bias (Donghae) started crying... Was touching, because... He (and all the members) expressed how is to have a broken heart, how even you see everything that is around you (when you have that feeling) how everything changes because of love. In "This is love" everything was with lights, happiness, etc. because they found love, they were in love, and in this video everything was blurry, darker, dead (the flowers) and they used the same background to express that it is not the same as before.
I just love this song and of course, the video.

that dance @2:56 was ridiculously great. although im a sucker for group dancers, and i cant lie that i was really hoping and hanging onto my last hope of there being this awesome group dance through the song, i will say i am so pleased with the duet dance. it had the perfect amount of tenderness, sexiness, swiftness, and this great lyrical hiphop vibe to fit the driving beat in the song. not to mention that the technique was on point. everything in this video is great and the filming also support the realness of the acting.....btw did anyone else sing the song throughout the video? i kno i did~ even those high notes HAHAHAH!
