The places of Pius X: the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Cendrole - Riese Pio X (Treviso)

Giuseppe Sarto, the future Pope Pius X, was always fond of the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Cendrole in Riese Pio X, a short distance from his home. The #Cendrole church was the ancient parish church before St Matthew the Apostle took over in the centre of Riese Pio X. The construction of the present church began in 1756 to a design by architect Ottavio Scotti. Many works of art can be admired inside, some of them gifts from Pope Pius X.
