  • Walking in Lisbon is one of our favorite ways to enjoy the city. We recently took a walk from our apartment in Avenidas Novas down Avenida da Liberdade and Rua Augusta to the waterfront at Praça do Comércio. We stopped along the way at Banana Cafe, our favorite quiosque on Avenida Liberdade.
    Hope you enjoy the walk!

    Thanks for showing more of the sights of beautiful Lisboa. Rua Augusta looks so vibrant (as does the much of the city)! Love that they are having a pride celebration. Seems like such a diverse city.

    It used to be like Times Square before the pandemic! What exactly is a kiosk vs a café? What a Lovely and regal city Lisbon is :)

      Hi, thanks for watching. A quiosque is an outdoor café with drinks and snacks. Lisbon feels even better that she looks 😀

    What is the hottest temperature so far this summer, and is August the hottest month like here in Texas?

    • @whatsupwkirsten
      @whatsupwkirsten  2 года назад +1

      It has been in the 70s and 80s F. A little bit of humidity, but barely noticeable. I'm not familiar with the weather in Texas, so can't really compare. Thanks for watching!

    My parents are planning to retire there because I'm like pushing them to leave the usa but the renting prices are out of control atm. I want to go with them so it is sustaniable for retirement with the renting crisis that I'm noticing?

    • @whatsupwkirsten
      @whatsupwkirsten  2 года назад

      Hi Doby, thanks for watching. It just depends on where you and your parents choose to live, and your lifestyle, habits, etc. There's a lot of talk currently about the rental crisis here in Portugal, just like there is in many cities in the US. Do lots of research, learn about the different districts and cities throughout the country. Once you learn about the different areas, search the real estate websites to see how much rentals are in different areas. Also keep in mind that summer is high season for many coastal communities, so there are lots of short-term rentals in those areas, that are often priced weekly. Lots of factors to consider, for sure. Once you figure out what you want and what works within your budget, come check it out and see if it's some place you can see you and your parents living long-term. Hope this helps!

    1st time I gave seen litter on the streets in your videos. Tourists?

      Didn't even notice as Lisbon is pretty clean for a major city. This is a very busy area, lots of tourists, close to where cruise ships pull in, etc. Thanks for watching 👍🏾
