Happy belated! Have you ever kept a journal of your thoughts and feelings? I really hope you find what you are searching for. Sometimes, it will find you once you quiet the 'noise' around you.
Thank you for your transparency ❤ Cause I'm over here floundering like a goldfish 😂 I am prepping for my move there next year, though 🎉
Awareness is the first step🤣 Appreciate you watching. You got this💕
Sounds like you are on the right path. Happy belated birthday. “If you will change, everything will change for you.”
Thank you 🫶🏾
Happy Belated Birthday! Congratulations on your journey to more self love. I get excited when people get to this part of life. I am 70 and most of my life was spent not feeling worthy enough to give to myself. I was always caretaking everyone but myself. When I turned 50, my well was empty and I had to find a way to replenish it. It feels weird at first, but it takes practice. When you begin this journey, you will keep surprising yourself with parts of yourself you never knew existed. I read a lot of books that helped me. The Artists Way by Julia Cameron was cathartic. Barbara Sher's books I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What it Was and It's Only Too Late if You Dont Start Now.
Thank you, and thanks for your encouragement. Also appreciate your book recommendations. I have heard of The Artists Way and look forward to starting with that one. You're right. It all feels weird and takes lots of practice, but I'm committed 🫶🏾
Happy belated birthday! You can make the most of your 'looking within' in a Buddhist country like Thailand by learning mindfulness and meditation.
Thank you😍
Look inside is definitely the way to it.
So glad you moved from Portugal to Thailand. I prefer Thailand for its warm weather, affordable cost of living and casualness. I am tank top and flip flop guy every day :)
Thank you for your transparency! Did you move to a new condo? I noticed a different background. Love your videos! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching. No new condo, just one of the common areas in our building😀
Thank you!!!🙏
Happy belated birthday!!!🎉 Relax and enjoy your life. You are definitely worthy! I look forward to moving to Bangkok when I can retire. Blessings to you and Mark.
Thank you😍
My dearest Kirsten, from my understanding, you were a Nurse right!? Then You dear have paid back to the world in abundance with all the lives you cared for and saved! So, I'm my opinion, You Do Not need to volunteer anymore! This is your time now. If you must, then please volunteer to yourself now! Love Your channel❤
Happy belated birthday! May your journeys in Asia continue to be incredible, may your journey in discovering yourself be epic.
Thank you😍
Thank you, thank you for your honesty and sharing. I feel I am you. I am scared of my future, I am 58 from the USA, but lived in Ireland for over 20 years raising my children who now live their own life. I moved to Spain mainly to get away from the weather, there have been life challenges here in Spain. I have a job in Spain, but only to survive, even without working to survive I am still not content with where I am at and I feel constantly judged by family by making the move from Ireland. I am floundering and scared. I am delighted to be following someone that is relatable. Thank you. I also just returned from a trip to Bangkok/Thailand and I said to my husband that I felt more comfortable in Thailand then I do in Spain. I am also a worrier of what others think of me, and I always overthink to the point of chronic anxiety. Looking forward to listening about your journey.
Thank you so much for sharing. We definitely have a lot in common, and I bet you're your own worst critic. Give yourself some credit -- you've raised your kids to live their own lives. Raising kids is the hardest job of all. Now, you've got your whole life ahead of you, and like me, you're not used to having options and making choices that don't involve what's best for others. It is definitely scary, but in a good way. As far as what others think of you, you'll start to care less when you start focusing on what YOU think of you. I know it's not easy and it's something I have to work at every day. You got this💕💕
Thank you for sharing your vulnerability, Kirsten! You're right. Others will always seek to volunteer you or suggest ways to occupy your time. As if existing for your own peace isn't enough. I'm glad you reflected on what's best for you in moving forward. As a fellow RN, I enjoy watching you take the break. I'm happy for you. 🫶🏿👍🏾
It's not Bangkok culture, but it's Buddhism Philosophy. Inner self is more important than material wealth. If you have spare time, visit buddish temple. Some temple have Foreigner monk. If you can find one of the foreigner monk, ask him about what he discovered from Buddhist Philosophy. You might find something that you are looking for. It's just a way of life which is different from the west.
Live in the present, not in the past or future.
Happy Belated Birthday!
Thank you😍
Kirsten, happy “belated-birthday”! Bangkok looks good on you. Your skin is glowing, you have vigor. Maybe, it’s like what Carl Jung said in this quote, "Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes." Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you😍
YOU ARE WORTHY!!!!😘😘😘😘
PREACH!😍😍😍
Thanks for sharing what most people don't want to talk about. I look forward to more.
Belated Happy Birthday 🎉
Thank you😍
Love this 💕
Me too💕💕
It's cool that the Bangok culture & environment gave you something you were ready to receive.💚💙
I'll always be a work in progress, but I've turned a corner for sure😍
Thumbs up 👍 Kirsten
If you're interested, this Sunday, Oct 27 from 3 pm, there will be a royal barge procession from around Rama 8 Bridge to Wat Arun. The king will be offering monk robes as part of the end of the Buddhist Lent. 52 barges and 2,399 oarsmen (all Navy's I bet) w/ the main barge, the Golden Swan, being 130 yrs old bulit during King Rama 5 and finished King Rama 6. The procession is 1.28 km long. This pomp and ceremony follows an ancient protocol procedure to the last detail. It's going to be spectacular! Doesn't happen too often. Last time was during King Rama 10's coronation 4 yrs ago.
Thanks so much for this! We were down by the Chao Phraya across from Wat Arun last week and just missed one of the rehearsals for this event. Really appreciate the detail in your comment. Any suggestions on a good spot to view the procession? Always appreciate your thoughtful comments🙏🏾❤️🫶🏾
@@whatsupwkirsten Sounds like the best spots would be those piers starting from the Green Pier (Wat Po), Tha Tien pier (very close by), Tha Chang pier (Grand Palace) and Tha Maharaj pier (half way between Grand Palace & Thamasart University). Also, inside the university, there will be a stand of 1,130 seats. Expect crowds at all those spots though. There will be 18 big screens scattered on both banks of the river and a live stream on Royal Thai Navy facebook and sounds like on Thai PBS too.
@VintageThaiLadyBoy Thank you for taking the time for such a detailed response, especially the tips about fb and PBS. If the crowds are just too much (or if we get lazy), glad we can still see it. It really sounds like something not to be missed!😍🫶🏾

Thanks for this video. I love how you explained the train in depth. I haven't seen anyone else take the time to do this. I love the little details. You rock! 😊
So glad you found it helpful😃 Thank you for watching😍
I rode train everywhere went I was in Thailand in January
QR quote is so easy for me too.
Makes transactions so much easier 😀
Currently, all passengers in BKK will pay only Baht 20 for the train fare, specifically red and purple lines and will soon be extended to all lines both BTS and MRT,according to the latest news announced by the government recently.
I've been reading that, too, and that would be great for all lines for sure. I've also heard about a possible surcharge for cars to come in to central BKK in an attempt to alleviate congestion and promote use of public transport? Thanks for another helpful comment 😀
I always pray for that 🇹🇭😁
Really? wow...great news!
PATH TRAIN!!!!!
IYKYK😂
Okay. I think you answered my question 👍🏾👍🏾
How do you obtain the QR code? Is it like a pass? Asking if you don’t have any coins…..Thank you for posting 👍🏾👍🏾😃
QR code is popular for payment in Thailand. We are now cashless society in Bangkok.
Go DODGERS!!!!!💙🩵💙🩵💙
Thumbs up 👍 Kirsten
Nice little hotel and great price. I've watched a lot of videos, the local food options seem to have the best prices.
Is there a particular reason why Western food plays a relatively high role in your diet in Thailand after two years? Not being critical, I'm just wondering. I love Southeast Asian cuisine, and perhaps I'm tripping, but I am absolutely bored with the Standard American diet. I guess the only way I'd know what I would actually eat is to move to Bangkok. I plan to eat as local as possible and utilize local markets to supplement that diet with home cooking.
We have access to pretty much any cuisine here in Bangkok, and we love that variety. Also, you can find pretty much any ingredients to cook whatever you like. We enjoy a lot of non-Thai food (a good burger, Korean, Mexican, Japanese are our favorites). And we love our Thai favorites. Not sure what the standard American diet is, because the US is so big, with just a ton of ethnic cuisine to enjoy, or not, depending on where you live. We do enjoy a western breakfast, and Mark would eat bacon and eggs every day if it were up to him. As for local markets, I love them, but not enough to go out of my way to get to one to buy fruits/veggies, etc. I can find what we need at one of the many grocery stores in our area. You are 100% correct that you would not know what you'd eat unless you lived here. The good news is there's definitely something for everyone😍
Score!🤣🤣as always, thank you again for sharing 😍😍
Thank you for posting your, adventure on budget 🏖️traveling😃
