Just fitted the same LPS2 last weekend at the back of my transporter, glad you mentioned about the supercharger cable kit. I fell into the expensive trap of buying this, then hardly used any in the kit due to updating the cable thickness. Great bit of kit though overall.
Got one in our van, really good. Rarely see it go below 60% over night, even with lots of lights and 2 fridges and a heater. We've gone completely gasless, with an induction hob. I'm actually considering now getting a powerbank ( Not clayton ) for our teardrop trailer and getting another induction hob for the trailer too :D
Super simples bud 👍🏻 well explained. I think the Clayton is a solid set up having used it in the parts hauler for some time now. I will definitely be adding one of the expansion units down the line. Glad to see your going to be running a Cfx 3 in something 😊 another one of my favs 🙌🏻
Interested to see how the expansion packs work. I thought it would have to be something you buy at the same time as the main unit due to the cells. But maybe heard that wrong. I was really tempted to go this route but it actually worked out a little cheaper overall to go Victron with a smaller inverter but bigger capacity. But cost me A LOT more personal labour tax than the Clayton 😂
Ha. Ye. The time is a massive factor. Regarding age of cells. It’s irrelevant. As you literally charge the expansion battery. That then charges the main unit. 👍🏻
If thr unit Is discharged and you turn your ignition on without starting your van it's going to flatten your starter battery it would seem. I'm open to correction if the b2b has a provision for that.
I would have to ask the question in fact. On paper…potentially. But I do know that there parameters that will prevent the charge. I will ask though. Look out for next vid. Expansion batteries have a software update which can do lots of extra things.
It’s just that much. You can get 3kw b2b’s now. 3600watts. Yes you do need upgraded alternator for that. Rule of thumb. 35% of your vehicles alternator. Most are about 200 amp 👍🏻
Great video thanks, does the unit take different power sources simultaneously and automatically i.e driving and taking solar at the same time (not that it sounds like you need it !) ?
Same battery capacity but… 1500 has no solar. And cannot use super charger. Has slightly slower rates of charging from mains. 2000 and upwards have solar input. Faster charging rate. Can use a supercharger and a higher output on the inverter. 👍🏻
@@urbanarkoverland no I wasn’t being sarcastic lol. You know when you’re interested in something you learn, and when you’re not so much but it’s something you may have to do, it’s one of them for me with electrics. It allll goes over my head 👍
Nicely explained Aiden.
Got one in my sprinter and gone gasless and copes no problem with induction hob and air fryer...absolutely love it!
It’s genuinely cracking ain’t it.
@@urbanarkoverland We did 4 days at a festival and with the solar it never went below 50%.
@@petehall9827 yep. Same story my end.
Lovely piece of kit, and well explained. Great to see you back posting.

Hi, What is essentially the differences between the 2000 and 1500 LPS?
