Will it be Ferrari again, or will Mercedes fix their high-speed issues? And how will McLaren's local Oscar Piastri factor into the weekend? Bryn Lucas chats with Alex Kalinauckas and Jon Noble as they discuss what to expect at the Australian Grand Prix.

    I’m going to make a wild prediction that Max Verstappen in his Red Bull is going to win in Australia and go on to win this year’s drivers championship. I’m also going to predict that Red Bull will win the constructors championship too.

    Media who constantly reports on Red Bull drama says there has to be tensions due to constant media report... honestly, the people who want that kind of "journalism" wait for drive to service next year and let's get back to the racing.

      Well it would help if Jos & Marko didn't go out of there way to literally seek out media to stir the pot even more & drag Max into it who backs them up lol. Media is literally dying to move on cause they're all shit scared of Redbull's legal lawyers, hence why they only focus on the political war part of it & direct quotes whilst ignoring the women bar a few basic platitudes.

    We think the surprise team, this weekend, will be the Vcarb team, as they have 2 drivers with a point to prove and the fact that this type of track suits their car setup.

    21:20 - It's not a binary choice. We could move the drivers to sim cockpits, with appropriate sensors on the car so the driver can pilot it "remotely" (at the track), saving huge amount of weight and opening up new possibilities at tracks where driver safety is no longer holding things back (even if spectator safety still does).
    Smaller, lighter cars with more aerodynamic potential.

    • @mackamotorsport2593
      @mackamotorsport2593 2 месяца назад

      We already have sim racing and as there is zero danger to the drivers it barely gets watched.
      It would literally remove the entire fun of racing cars IRL

    • @ChrispyNut
      @ChrispyNut 2 месяца назад

      @@mackamotorsport2593 LOL. Sim racing excludes actual physics and all the shenanigans that comes with that.
      I certainly hope that we can move beyond the need for "danger", in fact, we have in F1, if you need it, move on to another series.

    • @mackamotorsport2593
      @mackamotorsport2593 2 месяца назад

      @@ChrispyNut lol. I was talking about actually racing irl.
      The whole thrill of it is there is real danger.
      Remove that an you are basically sim racing.
      Anyone who races irl, especially an open wheeler, I'm sure would agree.
      As for sims, they have physics. My real race car feels very close to the sim version of it irl, especially in my motion rig.
      The trill of racing the sim and irl isn't close to comparable. I take a sweeper at 170 in my sim and it's nothing, I do the same corner irl at 170 and my heart is beating out of my chest, I have to mentally commit to the corner as my brains like we fuck this up and your into that wall and getting all sorts of fucked up. Some people can't make themselves do it.
      It's a whole other level and sim racing doesn't cut it, that's why people don't watch.
      You take the drivers out of the cars (which they won't want to do for reasons mentioned above) and who cares? There's no risk, no mental game, it's just sim racing. Fun to do but nothing compared to the real thing and boring for audiences as there's no consequences for anything.

    • @mackamotorsport2593
      @mackamotorsport2593 2 месяца назад

      This is from the weekend. Go to 10 minutes into the broadcast. That corner in a sim has zero risk, you hit it and ur race is done and you go do another, so people go for it.
      Irl people are waaaay slower as you can mess your car up, yourself, real skill both mentally and driving become apparent. It's suddenly interesting as there is a consequence if you are too greedy.
      If you still don't get it, google drone racing, faster take off that f1, absolutely insane courses buuuuut remotely piloted like you suggest and guess what?? Basically zero audience. (My channel has some drone racing if you can't be arsed googling)

      @@stevenst6337 I have been watching F1 since Early Senna days, the modern cars are too easy to drive compared to old analogue F1 cars. Oliver proved that at the last race, its started getting repetitive in 2000. Reduce aero and more mechanical grip, wider tyres that degrade faster, and smaller lighter cars. that the other option, but then the cars will be slower but at least the racing would be closer.
      That just what I think.

  • @RaptorV1USA

    How about we start with some actual racing cuz there hasn't been much racing magic so far this season. 2 races, 2 Red Bull walks. This is a joke. Please stop trying to paint lipstick on a pig and face the truth. Red Bull is very likely to walk this entire season yet again. Oh joy, what great TV THAT will be!
    What a sad future of no racing we have in store for the next. What 20 + races

    So there is no such a thing as a neutral sports fan. That's a lie. You always root for a team or person to win in competition unless the win doesn't favor someone or team that you actually support.
    The idea that the track has potential of slipping up RedBull sounds more hopeful than reality. Even if RB wasn't in front, have we not watched the sport to see they will pass as soon as DRS is enabled? We literally saw this last time out. RB is in a sweet spot at the moment and simply are ahead of the pack. Anything else is hopium
    As for the off track stuff, well it's funny that the media guys are thw ones to say it wont die down. I have a feeling it's the only thing y'all got to hop on to. None of it would be in the news unless y'all keep writing speculative articles. Y'all thing y'all be doing the public service or sports good but actually y'all media lot take the attention away from the sport to drama and you love the drama even when there really isn't any. But what gets me the most is that y'all take responsibility for publications y'all speculated on and we're really not true.

      Unfortunately there's no surprise with who's gonna win. The only driver that could challenge him is being paid to support him. Everybody can talk all they want about what advancements the rest of the grid is doing but it's all to see who's the smallest loser.
