I love that they had so many of the old Godzilla characters in this game. I was shocked to learn Varan was in tis game!

This was my favorite multiplayer game to play with my brother when I was younger. It may not have the best controls, but the game is still fun.
The audio balancing between the narrator and the sound effects are so all over the place lmao

Well, these intros seem a bit more well made than the PS2 version. I know they're the same, but they just... look better. I mean, on the PS2 version, all the intros were were the camera just circling around the kaiju like some form of reference to the Digivolution sequence in Digimon. But these actually feel like freakin' intros for the kaiju.
+FrankenHeavy The PS2 version was incredibly rushed, copy-pasting Godzilla: Save the Earth with (fewer) new maps, altered single-player arcade mode, and two clone monster additions.

Hope someday some developer will look back and remaster this version with better controls and graphics. These old Godzilla fight games were classic and it's a shame nobody ever try making a game like this again.

they included Biollante as a playble charater in godzilla Save the Earth

joshd415 Well, if you buy Godzilla Save The Earth or Destroy all Monsters, Biolannte isn't in both of them. But you can try to get Biolannte in Save the Earth if you go to the game files and replace Mecha King Ghidorah with Biolannte.

Fun fact: originally, the creators of godzilla unleashed were going to put king kong and zilla (godzilla usa 1998) in the game but the reason why they couldn't put king kong was due to peter jackson's 2005 remake. and they didn't put zilla due to fans hating him and less popularity.
I hate that Zilla is being hated on. Okay, so he wasn't actually "Godzilla" but the monster itself was cool and doesn't deserve it's hate. It's only guilty of being falsely called Godzilla.

Gaming 4 Life(Tylerman) I think it would have been nice to be given the choice to play as Zilla at least. He was in Godzilla Generations on Sega Dreamcast which was a great game!

And they're definitely worth the watch, always been into character making and animations how the whole programming process goes and those videos really did it for me. I like doing random animations every now and then, from walk cycles and attacks. I just don't have the knowledge to fully program a character with all the animations i make.

There was a push some years ago to remaster this trilogy of Godzilla games, but apparently Atari wasn't interested despite Pipeworks being on board

Honest question: is this game worth getting? The critic reviews aren't very good, so I want to hear some honest imput from the Godzilla fans.
Don't bother with the PS2 version, that one's definitely terrible. As for the Wii version... I didn't really like it. The controls especially are what killed it for me, and it's a real shame. The monster animations look seriously good in action. But I'm pretty sure I'm the minority, I hear quite a lot of good things from Big G fans who've played this. So if you like what you see, and can get past the motion-based learning curve for the controls, I'd still recommend it.

they should remake this game on modern consoles and maybe put it on steam. Also along with it add hedorah, kong, rodan 2019, mothra 2019, godzilla 2019, ghidorah 2019, skull crawler, male muto, female muto, shin godzilla (with a special form change mid fight mechanic similar to mothra), zilla, maybe gamera if possible? , manda, ebirah, kamacuras, kumonga, minilla I guess?, warbat, battra, maybe godzilla earth and ghidorah the planet eater? , gorosaurus, and 1973 gigan
Anguirus and Megalon were my two favorite monsters in the game.
One thing you missed is that Mothra Adult actually has an intro in the story mode when she is in one of the battles
This game looks pretty good for Wii standards.
They were custom monsters made for GU. Toho does own the rights to them now, so they're official Godzilla monsters.

Ghidorah face is so ugly it is terrifying, definetly the scariest Kaiju ever made, it has a well-earned reputation.

Not sure, the Wii version of Gigan isn't a very good character, I think, while the PS2 Gigan has trouble with metal monsters... But their play styles differ greatly.

Toho has actually kept in contact with them quite often! Recently, Toho said they'd be more than willing to lend their license, but only if the early releases of Kaiju Combat sell well.
The director of KC (Simon Strange) has been in contact with Toho since GDAMM, and is on very good terms with them. A Godzilla-themed release will more than likely show up near the release of the 2014 American Godzilla reboot!
It was a big shame that battra was left out in the Wii version which I have but let’s look at the bright side There’s A Whole Bunch Of Monsters So It’s No Big Deal And my aunt has a PlayStation ps2 so there’s a possibility I can get it on the ps2 to be battra

Yes. Only their roars and looks were different. Kinda wished the 1954 version had different moves. They seemed to fit the 90's version better.

I can only hope on the next game they get it better like they did with Save the Earth. This game feels just like the first one, some characters are ridiculously weak and some are outrageously overpowered. When you play against him Destroyah is basically just a sitting duck, but when you play as him he's the most overpowered monster in the game, I can wipe out 3 monsters at once without breaking a sweat. Save the Earth balanced things out and made the monsters more like they were in the movies.
