Recently I spotted criminals with this intent when I went to the bank with my 76 yr old Sister. I was waiting in the car and watched a couple guys sitting in a car just watching the bank entrance. This was around the time of the month when many elderly folks get their social security. I saw an elderly lady coming out so I walked to the door looked directly at them, kept my hand in my purse (i had pepper spray), put my phone to my ear as if I was making a call then coincidentally, my legally and always armed nephew, who usually takes my Sister to the bank, pulled up. It helped that he's a big guy. I was so relieved because the truth is they still could've tried to do something to me AND the lady. I told my nephew my suspensions and he parked right next to them. I told the lady to be really careful. These maggots are out here preying on the elderly and the unaware.
Just have your social security payment direct deposited to your bank account. No reason to even go to the bank to deposit it.
When I applied for Social Security in 2019, I was told they don’t send out checks anymore. It’s all direct deposit. Also, it depends on when your birthday is when it’s deposited by Social Security. My bd is end of month, so direct deposit for Social Security is end of month. If it had been first of the month, deposited SS beginning week of month.
NO. Do NOT stop at the bank at the end of your day. If your only reason for making this your last stop is so you don't have to leave your money in the car, then just DO NOT LEAVE YOUR MONEY IN THE CAR. I make sure I have one or two more stops AFTER the bank, to make sure I'm not being followed. Making the bank your last stop, you're more likely to be followed home, where you may lose more than just your cash.
That is exactly what I was thinking. I would NEVER go straight home after using an ATM. Go to the pharmacy, then the grocery store and there will not be any money left over to steal!!! I get aggravated when the news reporters assume we have no common sense!!!
So agree. I thought that was the dumbest pointer to follow.
Amen. What stupid advice!

I love how they forget to tell you to also have a safety weapon with you. Being vigilant only goes so far when they've already locked on you as a target. Pepper spray, properly licensed gun, taser, even a sharp pencil. Never go out without some form of defense. Always be prepared.

My bank has a 2 door security system you must use to enter the bank and it has a magnetometer that will detect metal, so it's very hard to enter a bank with a weapon. The solution is to go with someone with a concealed carry permit to meet you at the door when you exit and escort you to your vehicle- or you could just electronically transfer money and not expose yourself to the criminals.
My son had a creep hunker down directly behind his car when he stopped at the drive-thru window. My son had no idea but the teller told him he needed to come inside to make his transaction, that there was an issue, so, he went around and went in. Then the bank teller told him why they asked him to come in and he was totally shocked realizing he was targeted. Thank goodness the clerk was on her toes & prevented a robbery or even worse scenario.
Why wouldn't the teller just tell him there is someone hiding behind his car? Seems as if she put him in more danger asking him to exit the car and come into the bank - not to mention - how about call the police? Obviously, no one "hunkers" down behind a person's car at a bank drive thru for no reason. Glad she noticed it and all was okay.
Most banks don’t have window tellers anymore!
A problem with an easy solution, a firearm.
Just two passengers, get out of the car with baseball, bats, and take care of the sneaky creep.

I thought it was the local practice of setting out jugs into the water with baited fish hooks hanging from them. That is jugging!
At first I thought it might have something to do with women.
Gotta be politically correct nowadays or these people will lose their jobs.
This happened to my cousin last month in Indianapolis. A woman watched him withdraw money. She and her half-brother then followed him to a CVS and then to another CVS (he was picking up prescriptions) and attempted to rob him at gunpoint. He pushed the gunman away, and the gunman jumped into the vehicle and took off. Both were caught and told police that my cousin was the aggressor. However, security footage showed that to be a lie. He was 18, and his accomplice was 21. Total losers.
I live in Indianapolis and that definitely sounds like something somebody would do unfortunately. At least they were caught though and the police didn’t believe a bogus lie about somebody trying to rob two people despite him not pointing a gun at them. However, when I was on the Citizen app I used to see some wild incidents on there that were unbelievably stupid like a man pointing at vehicles with a sword and one where a guy went into some office threatening employees with a weed eater.

I canceled my transaction and grabbed my card and turned to them and asked them to wait outside, the guy got real aggressive real quick and I pulled up my shirt and put my hand on my gun and they left real quick. They had no car in the lot. I went outside and realized the door had been tampered with so it could be opened without needing a bank card. Who the hell leaves money in their car after leaving a bank??
My mother was followed home from the bank by 2 men who then forced their way into the house when she was unlocking the door. They wanted her to go back to the bank and make a big withdrawal. She refused and they could not convince her to do what they wanted. Luckily she gave them some jewelry and they left. She called the police and was told she was lucky they didn't kill or assault her. The next day a man and woman dressed professionally came to the house claiming to be detectives from One Police Plaza. They wanted her to go back to the bank to make a withdrawal in an effort to "catch" the teller who they thought was involved. This time my mother said she wasn't going anywhere unless a marked patrol car from our precinct came to the house. They couldn't coerce her to comply and eventually left. She called the police who told her those people were criminals in collusion with the 2 people from the day before. One Police Plaza would never get involved with a local robbery in another borough and they certainly would not send detectives. This has been going on for years! They wait around until you approach the ATM to withdraw cash or watch as you leave the bank. I've even seen them hanging around bushes close to the Atm's.
One time I yelled at a strung out woman hanging around an ATM begging for money. I told her that was a good way to get shot. She walked away and I never saw her again at that ATM.
In this day and age of electronic banking with the increase usage of debit cards, there are really few reasons to withdraw lots of cash from an ATM or a bank. Avoid both altogether if at all possible.
Last week, I went to the ATM to withdraw $20 leaving me with $9.89 in the bank. I noticed a car’s driver watching me intently. I walked up to the guys window, showed him my ATM receipt and told him “I’m so broke, man, if you robbed me, you would be practicing.”
I would strongly advise anyone against trying that at any Navy Federal Credit Union in Florida. They might get something but not money.

Pay attention to EVERY vehicle with people sitting in their car because they may be working together to surround you as you try to leave the bank. Be mindful, not paranoid of every move you make. People may follow you home. 😢
An executive at a Marriott told me to never get out of a vehicle or leave a building with cash in my hand. He was a previous boss. Nice tip.
She mentions leaving cash in the car.... who on earth leaves cash in their car!!! No one.
It's always safer to get 'cash out' within a grocery store at the checkout or at an ATM inside a mall.
Most ATM's have disappeared anyway. They're becoming as rare as payphones.
Well, what the police do not realize...that jugging is a possible inside job. A lady from Houston withdrew $2500 from her account to pay a bill. The thieves followed her 20 miles into a professional office building and snatched her bag or wallet. I think they were alerted by someone inside the bank (that is why they are close outside).
Nevertheless, I live in San Antonio, TX where they are stealing people's money the pony express way. Last week, I gave the teller cash of $100 dollars and 3 checks to deposit. She recorded it as a $80 cash deposit and then went on the backend and took an additional $20. Usually, the teller will make the correction in front of you and rewrite the deposit slip or have the customer initial the mistake. This was no mistake. She silently took my money and tried to cover it up (the manager was in on it). All banks have cameras and there is a paper trail.
With jugging no one see nothing because the thieves make sure they rob you away from the bank, cameras, and they use stolen license plates on cars. Unless, there are area cameras that pick up the incident at the time of robbery. But, this method is the most dangerous, cause some of them have already gotten killed by running up on the wrong person. A black guy in Houston was at the ATM when someone tried to rob him at night. And he shot and killed them. Oh well. It pays to do the right thing at ALL TIMES AND LEAVE PEOPLE'S MONEY ALONE. On 48 hours, people have gotten killed over $35 dollars or less. Be Careful.
dei hires.
Those are some dumb robbers. Trying to rob a black guy at night when he will very obviously be invisible.:D Also, it is one of those screwed with the wrong person type of situations.
Addicts are desperate. $35. can buy their next fix.
If a person can do all that to steal, they can get a job at Walmart.
Everyone want fast money, fast money ain’t always good money
Can . . . yes . . . but will they? No.
They would just end up stealing at Walmart.
@@davidsmith7006 wow, they will be so bold.
People are lazy - it’s easier to rob a person than have to get up every day and go to a job! I’m getting really passed in my old age!!!😊😊😊😊
Last stop at the bank? Then they follow you home...
It's Florida, you try to "bank jug" somebody down there and they're gonna blow your brains out.
Every time I go to the ATM my protection tool is on my side. 😊
Why are people leaving money in their car? And second, it's cute that these criminals think that everyone going into the bank is coming out with money🤣
That's why it's good to have a friend accompany you to the bank, if possible
Why is bank security not looking for this- randoms just sitting in the parking lot for periods of time
I wonder how many of these criminals are “the usual suspects”?
Always the same. Dey literally be huntin each and every day...
And if the robbers are caught, all they’ll get is a slap on the wrist! 🤬
It's interesting that you say that @cathitonkin.
What do you consider a, "slap on the wrist"?
2 years, 10 years, more? Parole or not? Ok, day for day. Where?
What condemnation would you give them? Remember, it must fall within the guidelines of your states laws, and federal sentencing guidelines.
When they get to where you send them, what then? Will they be warehoused, worked silly, brutalized, or will they better their mentality? When they are finally released, what then? Will they just be "let-out the gate" and shooed away?
See folks, you don't think about these things. Because you don't think that the "things" that commit these crimes are people too. You just wann'a give 'em to someone else for punishment so they'll be outta your hair.
How many of you would execute them on the spot?
Then I would say to you, you are the monsters. Because when YOU commit errors, all you want is merciful consideration.
Then it becomes an "Us vs.Them" situation. Pretty soon abuse, and neglect set-in to your system, and it becomes corrupted, and authoritarian, all for the sake of YOUR safety. You remember what your old, philandering, founding father, Ben Franklin said, "Those who would sacrifice freedom, for safety deserve neither" (Paraphrased of course).
Thus, there must be a balance struck.
Quit watching, "Law and Order", "RoboCop", and TJ Hooker". Actual police, and court systems are not like that. The majority of you thankfully, will never know the inside of a prison cell, or a courtroom.
So live your lives as an example to your kids, so that they never see the jail cells either.
It's no guarantee, but it's a great start. Those of us who have been inside, can tell you it's nowhere you want to be.
@@stevenserna910 So then what are you suggesting going soft on the criminals? A person stealing your money is a criminal, not these silly names the media gives them, the media is for the criminal, Jail and prison are meant to keep the criminals locked up to make the public safe, they deserve to be denied their rights, they denied another person of their right to make a bank transaction and do not care if the person lives or dies!!
@@stevenserna910 I see. You'e one of them.
How about making Robbery a capital offense and stop giving criminals a slap on the hand
This is nothing new. This has been going on since ATMs and even before.
It can also be one or more of the bank tellers/employees that are involved in the "bank jugging' crime network.
Based on what I've seen as kind of a bank insider, I'm thinking the same thing. I was told of a "cat fight" that nearly happened between two young ladies in the lockbox department I worked with. Some general workforce bank employees exhibit 'hood behavior. Bank tellers are paid just barely above minimum wage, so it's only logical you're more likely to get employees with less desirable traits for the role.
After you stopped by the bank, make sure no one follow you to home.
what if it was at the supermarket or the gas station ? why not constantly be on the look out if someone is following you home ?
That's why I sleep in my car after stopped to bank.
Yea if someone follows me home with the intent of jugging me or well lets just call it robbery, man it is going to turn out very bad for them. They should do a video on what the juggers should do if they see me taking any money out of the ATM.
@@secondarycontainment4727😂
The bank teller knows your address and account balance.
The banks needs to be aware of this as well
Also, make sure to get a concealed carry permit and have a firearm on you at all times. If anyone tries to carjack you or get you out of your car, do not hesitate to take action. The same if someone follows you home and approaches you in your garage or breaks into your house, use your gun to protect yourself and your family.
People do all types of transactions at the bank...not just withdraw money. It's scary to think you could get robbed leaving the bank when you may have been there to do something like open an account.
Are you dumb? When opening an account you are usually depositing money not taking money out.
I like that they made up the term "bank jugging" instead of just calling it robbery or armed robbery, like wtf.
I imagine myself describing a house fire as a "firey oopsie whoopsie" and assuming everyone else will be like "oh yeah, that's a normal thing to call it".
It's a good thing I don't have any money in a bank, but y'all be safe out there!
Concealed carry is the answer to this silly issue
Here in Arizona we can open or conceal carry with no permits or license, I prefer open carry, then the criminal might want to pray and accept Jesus because he or she could meet Him sooner rather than later!!
These are almost ALWAYS inside jobs - done with the assistance of a bank employee. Banks can help reduce or eliminate this problem by restricting employee cell phone usage at work. This should be one of the easiest types of theft to prevent.
When I worked for a bank we were not allowed to have our cell phones at our desks due to
the risk of capturing sensitive information on our cell phone cameras (intentionally or not).
Finally, news that helps ppl.
"..So you don't leave that money in your car." ?? Why would anyone be dumb enough to leave your money in your car? 🤔
I posted this tip on another video, but it belongs here too. Here's my tip: After drawing your firearm, keep it close to your body while firing into the attacker's center mass. Keep your elbow tucked in, and you might also want to lean your head so that it's over the center-line of the firearm while keeping that firearm tucked in close to your body. This ensures weapon retention so it's less likely for the attacker to be able to go for your firearm. If at that point he/she releases you, then make room by stepping back (if safe to do so) at which point you can then extend the firearm and support it with your supporting hand. Continue shooting into the attacker's center mass if he/she makes any motions towards you or puts his/her hands into pockets, waistline, or anywhere where you cannot see if the attacker is going for a weapon or not. When questioned by police, be sure to emphasize how you were physically attacked and feared for your life and your use of the firearm was to stop the attacker. Make sure you use the word "stop" and not "kill" or anything else. That's my tip for if you find yourself the victim of a strong-armed robbery. Not this "jugging" nonsense or whatever they want to call it...
What are the banks doing to protect their customers ? Armed Security patrolling the parking lots? Taking notes of potential criminals sitting in their cars waiting for potential victums?
this goes for hitting an atm in off hours, always look for suspicious people "lurking".
So true! I was at a bank and noticed some suspicious characters just standing around outside the bank. I’m already hesitant to go inside of banks because they are targets because of the obvious circumstances.
Conceal your gun too.
Praise 🙏 those tellers too! So glad you’re son was ok 👍🏻
